Also, the Habs were the best team of the 1960's, not the Leafs. The Habs won the Cup in 1960, 1965, 1966, 1968, and 1969, which is 1 more cup than the Leafs (1962, 1963, 1964 and 1967)

The 4 Cups the Leafs won during that time period (1917-1941) was against a league of 3, 3, 7 and 6 other teams besides them respectively. You'd think the Leafs would still manage the unlikely "Cinderella Season" by fluke and make it to the finals, but even this has not happened in the past 40+ years now. The Leafs haven't won the Cup or even been to the finals since '67. There are a handful of teams (6 or 7) that haven't been to the final since then as well, but they're all teams that have only been around for no longer than about dozen years (SJ, Columbus, Nash, etc.).
