Animal Sacrifice was commanded of God for His people during Old Testament times to help teach them about the up coming sacrifice of His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ. Once Christ was sacrificed, no more need to teach with animals, as the people of the world can now understand the act itself (since it has come to pass). Lucky for us, and the animals too.

The Book of Moses and The Book of Abraham were written by Moses and Abraham. The original documents were brought to Joseph Smith, who then translated them, into English. (they were originally written in a kind of Egyptian Heiroglyphs)

Unlike the Golden Plates from whence the Book of Mormon came, the scrolls were left on Earth after translation.

How about a massive lit up sign right in front of my eyes that has a load of flashing lights and music & then, as the whole world seems to dim around it, a voice comes out that says my name & who I am & tells me 'This is God speaking, what do I need to do to prove it to you..?' Then I could just think up some random act & he could do it.
