I went to the local Books-A-Million in St. Louis last month and strictly by chance Glenn Beck was doing a meet and greet and autograph signing for his new book. I made it a point to meet him. Two thing I saw when I looked directly into his eyes. 1) He appeared to be on drugs. 2) I did not see one hint of sanity. What I did see was four HEAVILY ARMED bodyguards wearing Xe ( Blackwater) lapel pins.

Killing off Al Queda is part of it as well and that is ongoing, but Al Queda unlike Iran is mobile. Winning the war involves declaring openly and honestly exactly what we are seeking to achieve (i.e. the overthrow of Iran's radical Islamist government) and then taking the enemy out. The other option is surrender.

If a bad hurricane hits the Gulf in the next few weeks, a lot of the oil might end up on shore in people's yards and on their cars and houses. Then Obama's hesitancy to get involved and his machinations to cover his own ass will really make people angry. Obama's incompetence and inexperience are really starting to make their mark. Two thing I saw when I looked directly into his eyes. 1) He appeared to be on drugs. 2) I did not see one hint of sanity. Communism levels the economic field in society, but at a poor level. And closing loopholes like tax-free offshore corporate offices, etc. With that increase, we could easily fund health care for all Americans (with everyone contributing an affordable premium payment,) we could invest much more in sustainable energy and materials, loans to small businesses, urban renewal, education, high speed trains and other public transit, etc. etc.

i dont like that there is a leak. what in the F can be done to stop the leak? bomb it? evacuate the water? did you hear the 911 call from BP? they nonchalantly mention there was a leak but it was likely not going to reach shore. katrina= different.

@ensurePlus1 Obama is doing as bad a job in the Gulf as Bush did during Katrina, Perhaps worse. If a bad hurricane hits the Gulf in the next few weeks, a lot of the oil might end up on shore in people's yards and on their cars and houses. Then Obama's hesitancy to get involved and his machinations to cover his own ass will really make people angry. Obama's incompetence and inexperience are really starting to make their mark. Soon people are going to wish they still had Bush in office.

@ensurePlus1 The federal government cannot handle a huge disaster like the BP oil spill or Katrina without a huge coordinated immediate focused response. In both cases, the man in charge delayed the federal response and then tried to place blame on other parties. In the Bush case, he blamed state and local governments for the failures. In Obama's case, he blames BP. In the case of Bush, left wing media excoriated the President viciously. In Obama's case, the left wing media is AWOL.

@ensurePlus1 The correct question is--what would a hands on President like FDR or Lyndon Johnson have done? The federal government needs to focus 100% on stopping the leak. Obama needs to be on the scene around the clock getting it done. Not flying off to California attending fund raisers or blaming BP for the spill and organizing Eric Holder's criminal investigations of BP. There will be time for those distractions later. Instead, Obama's busy covering his own ass very characteristically.

And his calling for an investigation into pre-9/11 intelligence, and possible negligence, is certainly not a bad thing. So, in my view, I still think the ideas Van Jones preaches ARE SIMILAR to the ideas Jesus preached. Mumia Abu Jamal may not be so Christlike. But he seems to be trying to live the rest of his life in a positive way. And I think Jesus would forgive him.

@ensurePlus1 All that's needed is a hurricane hitting the oil spill and spreading the oil spill over the whole shoreline and Obama's delays in taking action and passing the buck are going to really come into focus. His efforts to increase tensions between Anglos and Hispanics in the Southwest to distract attention from his Bush like response in the Gulf will all be for naught. And come November, the American people are going to weigh in on the third Bush term of Obama.

We could be there for 200 years and when we leave Al Queda will take power there. It's a total loss because we aren't there to win.
