You guys know when you start a new game, you get a loading cutscene, with a helicopter flying by. Right? Well, Im having this huge problem, (it never seems to fix, now matter how many times I reinstall or whatnot) RIGHT when the helicopter flies into the screen, Visuals freeze, and sound starts looping. I once found a fix for this... But I dont remember where. My pc can run ME on High. Someone please help me D:

What card are you using?

Do you have PhysX Enabled? If yes, then what PhysX software version are you using?

PhysX not enabled. But once I got it fixed back then, I did play it with Physx On.

1. Isolate your enemies one at a time. Taking on 2+ enemies at once without any armor is suicide.

2. Take your time! This is a First-Person Platformer game, NOT a shooter!

3. Always keep moving more than you shoot; momentum is important.

4. Watch their movements. This is key to disarming perfection. Waiting for weapons to turn red is not enough!

Dude...what is the secret to your diasarming skills. I try disarming the machine gun guys without slow-mo and I fail everytime. I know it has to turn red first but that doesnt help much. You make it seem so easy in all of your vids though.

@aaron8862006 : That would be very lovely, though It's kind of a waste IMO if you don't have either a Surround/Eyefinity, or 3D monitor/TV setup.

My dream setup would be to run all of my PC games on 3 76-inch Mitsubishi DLP TV's, all 1080p, and run it with NVIDIA 3D Surround. Maybe with that setup, TrackIR would be worth using.

@RavenholmHunter : Your specs are very decent and should definitely run the game. This game has PhysX issues though, so that might be why it's preventing startup. Have you updated the game with the latest patch? You need to install EA download manager to do so or go to the Mirror's Edge website to download it. If that doesn't work let me know.

Make sure you try different CCC drivers as well I've heard anything above 10.6 has problems. 10.5 should be your best bet though.

Select your country, then go to videos & downloads, then downloads and patches. The latest patch should be there.

At the top right should be the drivers download section. Select you product, card name, model, and the drivers download section should should up.

Though don't knock 10.7 out of the ballpark yet. Try them out and see if it works, unless you tried it already.

@rapterchannel : I'm sort of confused by your statement. Killzone does go a while back, but GTA IV is certainly not an "early" game, as it's still young and recent for today's games. I also don't know what you mean by the "6-axis" thing. This M.E. is the PC version, and whether I use a mouse & keyboard or my XBox 360 controller, I can turn, look, and head towards any direction. The doors only open in one direction anyway. What do you mean?

mmm...nah, I disagree...this game, though quite experimental with the theme it illustrated, fits much better in first person. There are certain parts of this game that makes much more of an impact to the player when seen through the eyes of Faith Connors. We get to "see" the impact she receives from the former wrestler Ropeburn, and also at the end when she jumps off the mayday chopper. Those 2 particular scenes wouldn't have made much of an impact if it was in third person view.

Yeah, its good that this game uses Unreal Engine 3, its a good engine which gives great graphics but also doesn' t need a supercomputer to run, it runs very well on older hardware as well.

Huh? I'm kinda confused by this concept.

But if you mean to compare graphics overall between the two games, I will have to say that Mirror's Edge is a bit cleaner. Crysis, of course, has the edge when it comes to textures and shading, but when played on a small monitor (like me who plays games on a 19-inch, since I dont have a lot of desk space), there are too many jaggies to deal with AA disabled, and of course, you know what happens when AA is turned on all the way...

Mirror's Edge, on the other hand, when AA is disabled, there's not too big of a difference image-wise than when it's enabled to 16x or 16xQ.

Performance-wise? Well it's kind of obvious. Mirror's Edge is lightweight on my single 9800GTX, while on Crysis it crawls to its knees on max settings (including 16x AA).

Overall, Crysis looks well if you have both the hardware AND the resolution to match. A 30-inch screen usually reduces the need of Anti-aliasing since the Res. is so big.

One more thing you have to admit though....all of Mirror's Edge's cutscenes look like something from an Esurance commercial. At first I thought EA went nuts with advertising when I first played this game, but no...those are actual cutscenes.
