Anyone that likes this, I would recommend Gungrave, it's similar to this with the mafia etc, but I would skip ep. 1 and go towards ep 2 because ep 1 is a preview of what happens in that series.

@WizeDemon Its about a guy who witnesses an assassination and instead of being killed, he has his memory wiped and is then trained to become an assassin himself. The story then develops from that, I dont really want to give much away. I can't explain it well enough to give it justice, but its a good watch, I really enjoyed it personally :)

I wonder why her name is elen in the japanese version. Ein means one in german whereas zwei means two and drei means three. It's odd that she's called elen in this.
@ilov3hotsaucexxx thats not correct. Her name is ein at first in both japanese and english. Zwei (Reiji) changes her name to Elen later on in the anime (and the game). You should watch (or play) it! :D

and i think reiji loves cal not ein, he just think of ein as a person who share the same destiny as him. in this scene reiji said 'never be able to protect the one that you love'. he refers to cal whom he believe that she already dead i think.

@instantlight12 (SPOLIER AHEAD! :D) There are many changes in the game but i guess that its the very end that you want. They both stand at a big field with many flowers and Elen has her back turned against Reiji. They stand there without any clue on where to go next and Reiji is worried about how to find her past. He finaly asks her on what they should do now, and she replies with "Im satisfied with just being here with you". Directly after she says that, she turns around with a big smile.
@instantlight12 there is only one way to kill him in the game but for that, you have to get a really sad ending. after the apartment has exploded, you can either hide and go with the anime or you can choose to go to inferno´s HQ and get revenge because you think they killed Elen and Cal. After you killed everyone, you will die a little bit later because someone shot you earlier in there. the sad thing is that both the girls ( Elen and Cal) is still alive so your death is in vain :(

@instantlight12 yes, i´ve seen it and i really recommend it if you can stand the gore and the ecchi :) i had no problem with those two things and i watched it and loved it. while it does have comedy, it also has many sad scenes (specially the dog scene) and a dark plot. since you liked this anime, i think you would like Elfen lied to :P i have also read the manga which tells and continues the story after the anime end and i really recommend that to if you are into manga :D how was Higurashi?

I watched the complete series,i hated the vague ending.It had a very good story,and it was chalk full of emotional manipulation(not a bad thing).Which made you feel more connected with the characters.Emotional manipulation of the audience that is.Anyone ever seen the animated move Metropolis?

Bloody hell, when Eren was shot accidentally by Reiji and fell to the sea I was really disappointed.......... But here she is, I didn't like the ending of this anime thou is really sad,... @DjLaserz NAH, if you REALLY think about it, this anime had such a perfect ending that it pisses you off cause it's so perfect. They had nothing left to live for after Erin recovered her memory. He saw her happy and smiling for real, then her was able to die after completing his promise (which is why he LET himself get shot. The purple flower Erin was playing with was poisonous, so she died whithout seeing Reiji dead (she didn't look). I HEARD that in the manga they live on and get married
@NanohaFateSakura Actually if you didnt know, the manga was based of the game phantom, which is basically an interactive dvd, you chose what you want to do. With the anime they kind of combined every ending from the game together and we got a whole bunch of different things going on. There is a manga out and its produced by nitro but they only have one chapter out right now.

This was my favorite 21 moment!! I became their fan long before seeing this one, but this one confirmed what I already beleived. This anime was amazing. And I agree with what is said below. Cal and Reiji never had what he had with Elen.
The anime was beautiful. I'd give it 8 out of 5 :D. EPIC! has romance-ish, action, and a look into gangster triad. Elen is kick@ss and zwei is just so hot you can't find a better phantom replacement... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! if u love anime like this you should definitely watch it or else(jk about the "or else")

@9snaker the one who created/trained Ein is German (mastermind behind Scythe so to speak)therefore he called them one and two except in his native language. it's pretty obvious if you actually watch the show....

well first actually means "erster" (male) or "erste" (if you mean female)
and "ein" is one at something like "one egg" but "eins" is one as a number (e.g. when you count - well in english it's the same..)

I watched the complete series,i hated the vague ending.It had a very good story,and it was chalk full of emotional manipulation(not a bad thing).Which made you feel more connected with the characters.Emotional manipulation of the audience that is.Anyone ever seen the animated move Metropolis?

Bloody hell, when Eren was shot accidentally by Reiji and fell to the sea I was really disappointed.......... But here she is, I didn't like the ending of this anime thou is really sad,... @DjLaserz NAH, if you REALLY think about it, this anime had such a perfect ending that it pisses you off cause it's so perfect. They had nothing left to live for after Erin recovered her memory. He saw her happy and smiling for real, then her was able to die after completing his promise (which is why he LET himself get shot. The purple flower Erin was playing with was poisonous, so she died whithout seeing Reiji dead (she didn't look). I HEARD that in the manga they live on and get married

@NanohaFateSakura Actually if you didnt know, the manga was based of the game phantom, which is basically an interactive dvd, you chose what you want to do. With the anime they kind of combined every ending from the game together and we got a whole bunch of different things going on. There is a manga out and its produced by nitro but they only have one chapter out right now.

This was my favorite 21 moment!! I became their fan long before seeing this one, but this one confirmed what I already beleived. This anime was amazing. And I agree with what is said below. Cal and Reiji never had what he had with Elen.

The anime was beautiful. I'd give it 8 out of 5 :D. EPIC! has romance-ish, action, and a look into gangster triad. Elen is kick@ss and zwei is just so hot you can't find a better phantom replacement... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! if u love anime like this you should definitely watch it or else(jk about the "or else")
