I'm happy I didn't purchase my HD2 from TMobile , from what I hear nobody likes their version. I got mine last week from Radioshack and it was actually the last one in my district. The guy was nice enough to keep my name written on a list and the phone hidden from anyone else lol. I'm enjoying it so far. I also have the nexus one android running on it. So far so good.

you say the hd2 zooms faster and loads faster when it clearly doesn't... iphone is much smoother and faster at browsing because mobile safari was designed exclusively for the iphone... but the screen and resolution of the hd2 really do kill the iphone 3gs... i would say the same for the iphone 4 because it's not about the resolution, at web browsing the screen size matters the most... and iphones really do fail at that one...

lol, every time the author says the HTC finished first, the iphone actually looks like it finished first. I've been reviewing these 2 phones online and in person for myself since I cant jailbreak my iphone 3gs on iOS 4. The HTC has the most beautiful display ever hands down. The screen real estate is amazing. But the overall experience feels very sloppy and inferior to the iphone. Web pages skip around, zooming is choppy and pixelated, touch detection always seems a bit "off" compared to iphone.

I hope HTC will come out with an own OS some day, iPhone always win because it's so light weight OS compared to WinMo for example. And EVERYTHING is working 100% correct with the hardware, you can't really expect a phone or OS to get perfect just because you put awesome hardware in it (HD2 for example).

@solomidplz I think HTC will stay with the android OS now, it is really the best OS for mobile devices right now. I have not upgraded my iphone to OS4 yet, but android 2.1 is better then OS3 with out any doubt. Windows mobile is a resource hog big time, I think it is the slowest OS out there. There are some great over looked OS like motrola OS very fast and compact.

@deedterb dont go to bad sites, its hard to get one cause viruses are made for specific OS. unless some asshole makes one for windows mobile, you wont get one. and as for you computers, use a virus protection and be smart with links... if flash is not supported like he says then it is near impossible to get one.

Had this one for a week when it first came out, returned it a week later. Everytime I go to the music player, the phone would freezes for like 3 minutes. I find it funny that people are making excuses for this phone by saying you need to flash this or flash that. What would I have to do that to get the phone to do its most basic functions? T-mobile has a sorry phone selection and spotty coverage, no wonder they are in 4th place.

@mrtyrang I have used quite a big number of phones, htc hd2 is the one I'm using right now and it's the best device I've had by far..Mine works flowlessly (vodafone-Greece), I've heard people complaining about the T-mobile versions though..Anyway, many relatively new devices have such issues, had problems with SE P990 and Nokia 5800 but after some updates and setting up they work as they should..And this is a WM device, not a great operating system, but this hardware gives u endless potential...

Alot of people say this phone sucks, freezes and has problems. The problem is them. They either don't know how to fully customize and flash ROM's on this device. I have this phone and flashed it to a custom ROM. Even faster than stock and more stable. Plus, some of the custom ROM's save battery better.

@garymofo2 But that's the problem, just when I spend so much money on a device like this I expect it to be working flawlessly from the beginning, I don't want to flash it whatsoever and try any ROM I come across just to find one that doesn't freeze or crashes, I expect the phone not to crash without any interventions. I'm getting mine on friday so I'm really curious about how it's going to perform, the opinions I've read and rumors I've heard were not really in favour of this device. Let's see.

@dannydash It's still pretty good. The phone has a massive 576mb of RAM. People launch all the programs and thats where it gets laggy. It's like in a PC, when you have a bunch of stuff running on the background, things get slow. When you get your new HD2, be sure to download cleanRAM and Cleartemp from the browser. It helps so much because it cleans all unncessary things running in the background and clears out the registrys!

It's got an amazing display quality, no "pink" photos, the sound is much better than from an average MP3 player, really fast and responsive. Browsing the web is great and the pages load very fast. I don't get why people keep ridiculing it. You know what, if you want to ask anything particular, just write me a message if it helps you decide ('coz there are some cons and pros of course).

the internet speed can also actually be faster. opera mobile 10 is around 200% faster. i have the htc fuze which my now is old compared to this. it has 528 processor and 288 mb of ram and with those specs it can load one of those pages in around 2 seconds. and if you want all speed go for opera mini 5 beta, this is the fastest and seems to work better than opera mobile 10 for my phone

You're a faggot. This review was one-sided. You disregarded the pros of the iPhone and expressed yourself thoroughly on the pros of the HTC.

This device is not an iPhone killer because it misses smoothness and a lot more. its processor clocks at 1ghz while the iPhone 3gs at 600mhz yet the HTC gets more checkerboards. The bigger screen is good but the iPhone screen is more comfortable to hold. The OS of the iPhone is also far superior.

iPhone is still much better than HTC HD2. Everything on browsing internet is copied from iPhone's Safari browser (like zooming, scrolling, browser icons) and iPhone is still faster and "smoother"! Everyone, who has HD2 is saying, that it is better than iPhone, because it has 1GHz processor and that HD2 is faster, but iPhone is as fast as HD2, but much smoother and HTC is only copy of iPhone (like most of today touch mobiles) and iPhone is still better, simplier and so on. ;-)

does not look so awesome from this video, but i bought the HD2 a few days ago and it is much faster then this with Wifi of course, tmobile 3g is slow. anyways the hd2 is like a internet tablet it is fast and like never lags even in desktop view it is smooth.

you can even download a ps1 emulator on it with a bunch of games. and they all run at like 60+ fps
