it really is a coin muncher, although that's less of a problem with MAME. my nephew loved it and the sound problems aren't as bad as they appear. a european home release of this and dodonpachi (ps2?) would have been nice.

YOu're asking the wrong people. Cave are the people who developed the game, Capcom just published it.

And there is a spiritual sequel about to be released called Akai Katana. It's already in the arcades and will be out on 360 in May.

They have a separate international site in full English. They also have a 'Cave Online Goods Shop' which takes request ideas (mainly of merchandising though).

As for Arcade Coop - i doubt that will be possible unless we sit in the same room, as onlineplay with FinalBurn (thats what i use to do these vids) will cause lag and that will be problematic when you record :)

Online is just fine.. It has been for me for 3 years.. All my coop vids don't lag. They are just fine. Ah well, guess I'll find others.

Well yes - but when you record online, the game drops frames, its not 60fps, and i doubts its compatible with input recording, no?

I was mesmerized by all the attention to detail put on the backgrounds of Progear, the hand drawn graphics are awesome and it's kinda sad they don't make games like these anymore and it's all polygon graphics now, they just don't make game like these anymore (well, maybe for handhelds, that is)

In Cave's tradition you have to complete the game twice to watch the real ending, one must be insane to complete that task!

They are still making games like this in some ways. Other cave titles are sticking with this tradition. The 2D shooter market is now seen as a niche market though. Those games are very tough these days.

Thank you for recommending me those titles, I've checked them all and they just keep getting better and better. Espgaluda and Mushihime-sama even have sequels! :D

I've been waiting uploads of ESP Ra. De., Guwange, DonPachi and Fever S.O.S., hope to see them here soon.

I really loved "Death Smiles" it's very similar in style to Progear, too bad none of the titles you mentioned are emulated yet, at least on MAME. :'(

The problem is that not all of those are emulated by FinalBurn, and for some games Re-Recording is causing desynchs, so cant do these :(

Man, and I thought the games when I was a kid in the 80s were quarter munchers. This game is ridiculous. I cannot imagine anyone having enough money or patients to play this one for 51 minutes in an arcade to finish it.
