This song was made in an attempt to rekindle the Beatles tune according to some article. Phil Collins and the rest of the band had made it clever to incorporate rock&roll and blues genre that made their sixth album "Genesis" in 1983 being the most top selling Genesis album of all time in the USA. This is a true rock&roll blues classic never to be forgotten or unliked!
@madzskie The self-titled Genesis album was in fact their TWELFTH studio album in 1983, we Genesis fans call it THE MAMA ALBUM. It was their first Multi Million seller in the US (Abacab had sold a million in the US by 1981)
Love that legendary Phil Collins quality of sound and expression. Phil's voice is electrifying. Musicians always sound amazing. Great video, right down to the facial hair.
This was the song that got me into Genesis. I've heard it played in many different stores/radio stations. So I decided to look it up, so glad I did cause that was the day a Genesis fan was born. It was last year around February. This whole album is amazing but this song will forever be my favorite. Many memories attached to it and helped me through some tough times! They don't make 'em like they used to anymore.
As a child of the 80's Genesis/Phil Collins ruled the radio. I've loved his music since I was a little kid and still love it, he's the best (with or without Genesis).
This song always reminds me of the movie, FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE FINAL CHAPTER. My uncle and his girlfriend asked me to go along w/ them to the theaters and we saw this movie. I saw the movie in its whole entirety, and after leaving the theaters we got into the car and this particular song was playing on the radio. It's a good thing because it's how I became a fan of Genesis/ Phil Collins music.
