(THOM 3) The lyric 'What was that you tried to say?' suddenly doesn't seem so random. Apparently 'Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon' was how Thom described the feeling because when you eat a lemon, your face contorts from the bitterness. He said his face was permanently like that.
(THOM 2) I came off at the end of that show, sat in the dressing room and couldn't speak. I actually couldn't speak. People were saying, 'You all right?' I knew people were speaking to me. But I couldn't hear them. And I couldn't talk. I'd just so had enough. And I was bored with saying I'd had enough. I was beyond that.".
(THOM): It was during the OK Computer tour in 1997. When Thom started to lose it, with the pressure of touring and being the best band in rock. Thom came off stage after a show at the NEC in Birmingham (UK) and, well... here's what he says about it:
kid a is radioheads "darkside of the moon" alot of people say its "ok computer" but i think this is alot closer then ok computer> it is by far my favorite album of theres> it gives me such strength in these scary brave new world were living> it takes you to the depts of hell>
lol did u ever consider that the apostrophe was supposed 2 be there on purpose, think about the song, title and the awesomeness of Radiohead everything is in it's right place :P
I agree with the clapping comment. I've heard live shows where dumbasses clap with it and kill the tempo. It's one thing to sing -- but the clapping thing just kills me.
@BillClintonn Something hilarious i always see at gigs is all of the drummers and Black people clapping on the 2 and 4 and everyone else claps on 1 and 4....sounds horrible. Clapping in songs shouldn't be at Radiohead concerts. Ever.
im happy that the crowd isnt clapping along because ive seen this live where everyone claps and they all drag the tempo which just makes it harder for them. some people just don't have a pulse at all
Johnny G. is using a Korg Kaoss pad to manipulate Thom's voice in real time. Ed, meanwhile, is tweaking his effects to manipulate Thom's piano. Looks like he is mostly playing with a Line 6 Delay Modeler. All in all, extremely cool use of effects in a song.
why doesn't anyone give credit to ed for his amazing effect work on this song? sure the stuff jonny does with the vocals is amazing, but the ambient cloud that ed creates for the second half is AMAZING!
When I saw these guys live, I thought there would be no way they could do justice to this song. I literally had my jaw on the ground when they played it. Same feeling now seeing this. Pure brilliance.
saw them last year at bonnaroo, was amazing. i am still pissed though that rollingstones mag rated them at #2 as best live performance where white stripes got #1. WTF?!?!??!!
I have a tatoo that reads KID A within a barcode on my arm...I saw them do that in Houston, TX, there only Texas stop. 6 hours to drive there on a work night and get back and I would've done it for a week strait! Radiohead brings creativity back to music!

And i mean that in the best way possible.

thedukky 1 year ago
@thedukky It's a Korg Kaossilator Pro, but you can get somewhat similar fun with the Mini-Kaoss or the Kaoss-KO2, which costs around $100, as well.
shaquaiapinto 1 year ago
@thedukky Thats not a kaossilator pro, its a normal kaoss pad kp1 1st generation, came out in 1999.

Easily the best version of this song they ever done.

you guys just need to enjoy the music, who cares if there's suppose to be an apostrophe or not
ebexperience 2 years ago 13
@ebexperience
The apostrophe isn't the end of the world, but it does seem a shame that it's there, in its Wrong Place.
kavalovski 1 year ago 2
Its is already a possessive pronoun - "its" as a word is inherently possessive, you do not need to add anything to it.
An apostrophe on it's is an abbreviation of "it is". So, for instance, OCD at it is finest, or Everything in It Is Right Place.

why? the apostrophe implies ownership... for example sally's finest/it's finest..
that's how i've always seen it.
ALIENFETUS 2 years ago
That rule goes for everything except the word "it." Don't ask me why! I don't even know why I left that comment...so picky! Haha
