  • Okay on my car i have the t-maxx 3.3 #4908 and i know everything about this car but one day it decided to only go in reverse, and i did not install a reverse kit. Is that a tranny problem? Or a diff problem? Iv look at both diff and tranny and they both seem fine no broken gears or anything. Is there something im doing wrong? Help!

  • @MasetoMase34 Hey I made this video. So you tried to go in reverse and it didn't work? That could be a tranny problem, reverse servo problem, or something else. I took out the reverse gear from the tranny to reduce the rotating mass and increase acceleration (not a huge increase but I never use reverse anyway). My advise is take out the reverse gear and servo. Keep everything on the truck plastic. RPM parts good stuff. Don't buy aluminum parts. Use plastic spur 5$ spur vs fixing tranny.

  • If you were to put gear oil in the case how and where does the oil expand to if this is a vent less differential? I think I am having a problem with my front diff. It doesn't seem to spin like the rear does when you take off is this normal?

  • your wheels are mounted backwards lol

  • get a savage that looks like alot of work! but oil weight in the diff will change its operation completely! look at any racers setup sheets that is one of the most important things you can tune for track conditions! heavier lube up front will stop front tire ballooning in turns and keep more power on the ground in the back! mostly all diffs need lube and the weight is important to performance!

hope this helps get you started in lube management! dont run it dry and dont listen bs from turds!

  • get a savage that looks like alot of work!

  • savages are ok. I like the tmaxx cause its lighter and gets more air time. the savage is a bashin type of truck.

I've been building and flying Rc airplanes for 15 year and when I got into the trucks all a cared about was how fast I could go, how high, and how far. I don't like to drive rc trucks, I like to fly them.

  • would it be very hard to do that to a revo? because i cant get mine to hook at all!!!!

  • lol, that red angle hobby knife is so brittle, the thing is just made in china.

  • is that a 1 speed

  • Its a good upgrade for offroad but you did about 30 extra steps to get into that diff assembly.

    Removed the engine? Really?

  • I looked on tower hobbies and it said that the spool is off road only. Could I use it for on road and on

  • @blink182iscool4ever Im sure you could, it would just put more stress on the drivetrain with the added traction. Off road just alows some wheel spin.

  • @oxymoron2727 thanks i'll think on it... What do you mean off road just allows some wheel spin?

  • @blink182iscool4ever Well I have a 4909 T maxx with the Talon tires so if I am on the grass and punch it the tires spins out a little. On pavement the Talons get better traction so it puts more stress on on your tranny, driveshafts, diffs and so on.

  • @oxymoron2727 oh haha it was put in kinda weird way. thanks a bunch

  • this guy need to lay off the Red Bull

  • what u do to tranny

  • hi can anyone plz tell me what a differential spool is and whats the difference between the stock one

    thnks!

  • Spool 4981x puts power to both wheels and eliminates limited slip

  • @ilovetyping hi pal, the (locking) diff spool, stops the limited slip diff..

basically when u turn the slip diff allows the wheels to move at differant speeds, helping handling. the lock diff (spool) keeps both wheels moving at same time.. good for rock crawling and mudding but poor handling as inside wheel will still be driving the truck forward... its hard to explain but you dont need it....

  • @initiatededdeano thnks alot man

  • man that suckers in there deep.

  • hey will you sell your tmaxx

  • i have a t-maxx and it makes a clicking noise in the rear diff and it gets stuck when you spin it with your hand i think i have a rock in it can you help me find out what it is.

  • i'm having binding issues too! its not noticeable when driving, but may be slightly slowing me down.

  • Probly a broken tooth in your spider gears.

  • @dannyat323 you broke your diff,, I bet money that your missing teeth from it, I had same issue with my revo... ebay sells them cheap enouth... I actually have 2 or 3 spare... lol shame. good luck

  • Cool Vid

  • i dont like do ing all this cause i laways lost screws and all that stauff but you seem to like it and luke with your t maxx

  • When they dont have any diff fluid in them there a open diff but if you fill them with diff fluid like 10000wt or what ever you like then there more like a LSD

  • all tmaxx diffs are packed with grease. if you don't do this your diff will wear out much faster. Now as far as it acting differently with or with out grease is just wrong.

  • wheels on backwards

  • Look the backwards wheels is not my deal. Its a friends truck. F off.. lol just jokin.

seriously its not that big a deal so I left it alone. And to those of you that claim to be experts go cry about it.

  • did it destroy the handling attributes of the truck?

  • GREAT VIEO MAN IM ALSO A T-MAXX OWNER I HAVE A 4.6 AXIAL IN MINE AND DOSE IT RI ,IVE REPLACET ALL GEARS IN TRANY TO STEEL BUT ONE FOR THE WEEK POINT AND PUT ALLUMINUM DIFS IN W STEEL GEARS IM THINKIN ABOUT A 5.2 WEEEEEE tcbtmax46 over and out

  • ooo.. I was at the hobby shop today and saw an AXIAL engine. If I had seen that engine a year ago I might have bought that instead of the PICO. Good stuff.

  • I have the same power tool! and i use it on my truck aswell :D

  • heyy does this pico 26 engine need a drill start or is an ez start enough?

  • I'm sure you could find a drill start but the stock ez start bolts on with no modification and work well. I'm using a venom 6000mah battery pack and it starts every time.

  • thanks i thought with it been a bigger engine the ez might not be strong enough thanks tho

  • Your tires are on backwards LOL

  • Ya. Friends truck so I laughed too and just started driving it like that and honestly either way it drives about the same.

  • no they are like that to gain more traction XD

  • Dude you dont get better traction like that because when you are driving on a loose surface an the material gathers in the center of the tire rather than getting flung away and you actually get worse traction and i know this from years of experience on full sized vehicles, the best time to run them backwards is when its on a hard surface which doesnt even matter any way.

  • why did you send me this comment its not even relevent to anything i asked

  • who said i was telling you this?

  • I'd like to revise my previouse statement by saying on surfaces that pack such as mud, snow, skeg, etc. is when you don't want to have your tires on backwards... in sand and such which are dense and non-packing it definately works well.

  • dude haha your and expert. but i'd woop your ass on the track in the skies or in the water heli boat car airplane. thats right I've been doing this for over 18 years and if a friend of mine has his tires on backwards I don't care.

  • this is what i was talking about

  • Now, does that spool act like a locker, or can you still drive on-road without getting wheel hop?

  • Yes it does. Posi traction. I'm not sure what kind of wheel hop you are talkin about. I've had some tires become unbalanced and bounce up and down at high speeds on road.

  • COOL AMIGO ITS GREAT!!!

  • damb was a sick vid

  • just befor i get any ferther into the vid great music lol!!

  • Nice vid. I'm pretty new to the nitro RC game so its great 2 see theres some ppl out there who post vids like this to show upgrades installed. NICE !!!

  • what was the 1st(first)song?

  • Dimmu Borgir - Puritania

  • pretty cool vid :D, now only if you did that with a revo LOL

  • Sweet video!! I was hoping you would speed it up like that. good stuff. I used to run the spool in my old T-max with the OS .21 race motor. It was awesome to be able to do straight wheelies and it would do huge donuts all day. Watch drivin' it on the street now though, cause turning on the road will loosen and eventually break the screws that hold the gear to the spool.

  • Thanks smokedawg.
