  • I don't get this part here. Is Krogstad and Christine hooking up? Sorry I'm actually new to this and I can't really figure out what they are trying to say.

  • Thanks for putting this up. I'm performing this scene soon and it's given me a couple of things to think about and change. Cheers.

  • Who said movies are supposed to be realistic? Nonsense. The emotion and realism in this film was ahead of its time. In fifty years (some) people will look at the realism in films of today and laugh.

  • in the past emotions were repressed and women were more like a husband possession and not companion so it was more realistic of the times then

  • old movies have very little emotion or realism. i understand the sound to the movie wasnt somethng they were used to at that point but my god could this be any worse? no one acts so oldly in real life and a movie is supposed to be realistic. i could see this onstage possibly but on film? i had to get that out of my system.

  • @codyofga WHAT???? You've GOT to be kidding...today's films are so robotic that most of the time I have to ask my companion "Is this animated or living actors?" Today's films are so artificial it's pathetic. I'm not defending this film, but no one can compare "Wuthering Heights" or "Gone with the Wind" to today's garbaged mouth films.

  • @Taharah007 i understand where you're coming from, but sometimes a gem comes out in today's movies... rarely. This isn't my real argument. What I was talking about earlier is that in a lot of old movies, the actors act like they're onstage. Stage is overly dramatic because you have to sell your emotion to the guy in the last row. In film, you sell your emotion to a camera 5 feet away from you, thus more realistic (when a good actor is on screen).

  • Thanks for posting this. I'm performing part of Act 3 in my theatre class and had to split it into scenes. This is really good, and will help me a great deal.
