1. take the fucking thing out of your computer 2. remove the hard drive cover and remove the hard drive disc's 3. put the disc's in to a cd/dvd drive and kaboom!!! the soap scum Is gone I mean there's your data and back up your file's I have every thing backed up.

wish they restored my hard disk in December 2003 when I started my computer in the morning to finalise the assignment worth of 2000 EUR. Was planning to send the damn paper that day, instead I spent the entire day running around the city trying to restore the disk. Oh I forgot to mention that I almost died when the message came up the hard disk could not be found!

we need to move on from storage like this, its such a pain in the ass to recover when something goes wrong. once flash storage gets past the limits in capacity, we will move on from hard drives. hopefully.
