There's not that big of a difference. atleast...not one that would matter. I own a durango w/ a v8 magnum and my friend's parents have one w/ the HEMI. It just kinda gives it a little more of a jump start when you hit the gas. So if you're not really lookin to take off everywhere the v8 magnum should be fine...I can still get up to 90 in about 6 secs

A Durango does have a locking differential. I have a 98, one of the first ones on the market. The when you shift the transfer case into part-time 4WD it completely locks all 4WD. Great for snow and off road tracktion, not so great for burnouts, not that durangos were even made for that. BTW, is he using the parking brake or driving two footed?

what?????????? the 1998 to 2003, had in my opinion, the best look. It had a nice muscle truck look. The 2004 and up look like a old people SUV, they can stick all the big engines they want in it, it still looks like a old people truck. on the 98 to 03 the difrences are interiors and on the 2001 to 2003 it has a one piece front bumper, no emblems on the side, and a more electronic based engine.
