  • That's a lot of trouble for such a simple app

  • very good thank you

  • Dude, Did you buy that Xcode for $4.99? I asked this question because I am been searching for free...

  • @Daran728 Wow.... You've been searching to get it free when it's 5 bucks?? That's really dumb! By the way Xcode 3 is free.

  • @Daran728 xcode is free

  • This helped me a lot! I now know so many more codes!

  • Thank you for speaking in plain English. I've never learned coding and am trying to jump into SDK. You are very easy to understand.

  • Very Impressive video. Nice!

  • gj man with respect from israel

  • kid

  • I´m begginer in IOS world, but this video is excellent!

  • You are one cool dude, dude!

  • Source code is not available.

  • How you do to make each buttons become just links to some web sites ?

  • hmmm, i can respect this, better than most ive seen, you actually explain yourself, especially for a kid, dannnnngg.

  • Thanks a bundle for this. Extremely well presented, code worked after I spotted some errors I had made. Look forward to more.

  • why would anyone dislike this channels video. Shame on you.

  • I have no errors in my code but once the emulator opens nothing shows... any ideas?

  • @Domomac3 the program is case sensitive make sure its exactly how it is

  • I might stupid but I wanna know what those apps or app is called because I truly want to learn how to create iphone apps...

  • hello gile, i did this tutorial with SDK 4.2 and succeded without any error.great share kid.nice and thank u.

  • anyone seen a video where the person isnt younger then like 10?

  • I think you're very good at explaining iphone dev, much better than other vids I have watched, could you possibly do an overview video for beginners focussing on xcode itself, many tutorial videos by devs don't touch on why and where things are in xcode and I think this is one of the issues we beginners have, we need a bridge between not using xcode and we need explanation as to the layout of the application itself.. Great work keep it up... L ;-)

  • kid genius

  • I'm using SDK 3.2.4 - when I double click the .xib file I do not get the "View" Window or .xib Controller appear - is there a different method on this release of SDK?

  • Great kid! nice job, this has been my first app!

  • Well it let me simulate the iPhone after correcting many errors, but it goes into the app automatically, like normal, and goes right back to the home screen. I keep clicking the app and it keeps doing the same thing. Can anyone help?

  • I am having 3 errors. not sure what to do.

    I am using 3.2.3 and I get 3 errors.

    In the header I get

h:22: error: expected identifier or '(' before 'id'

Should this be different since it is a newer version?

  • @Weddings201 no just check all your parentheses and semicolons thats usually what that error means

  • Showing people the code while you are typing it, is a diffrent the just giving away the source, people who really want to learn are following the tutorial...It's just my opinion!

  • miksvideo96 - I hadd that problem. I went back to the .h file, made a edit of nothing, then resaved (cmd-s). Then went back and it worked.

  • Maybe it dosent work because i have 4.0 trial version

  • I tried to do the user action thing but there where no "button1", "Button2" etc. in the grey box. But the video is still kool so don't worry dude.

  • @miksvideo96 Make sure you save in xcode first then the button options show up.

  • Great.

  • great video, good job....

  • Did it take a long time to learn all the stuff you need to know to make apps.

  • Great tutorial. Keep up the good work!

  • Nice vid!

  • This is fantastic! Thank you so so so much for this -- this really helped me understand some of the basics. You're awesome.

  • kid you are a fricken genius.

  • any chance of the source code for this ?

  • Some of the UIButtons I typed in were not highlighted, which is why I believe I cant get my buttons to be recognized. Please help, I cannot get them to high light in purple, in xcode...

  • When i tried to connect my file's owner to the buttons it doesnt give the grey dialogue display box to choose button 1 - 4. It only says Outlet, the under it "- view". What went wrong?

  • @Militia7 Me too...

  • hey how did you learn objective c??

  • @thudrock and @gilesvang i did all the same and get alot of errors and mistakes but i fix them all except one error which tells me : - no'titleforstate:' method found

    exactly in this line

    NSString *FavoritMac = [sender titleforstate:UIControlStateNormal];

    any help plz??? :(

  • @RSAF100 I had the same problem for a while. but i figured it out. Objective C is case sensitive. "titleforstate" should be titleForState

  • Thanks very much. I learned a lot.

  • The link for the source code isn't working for me :( But good tutorial nonetheless!

  • i got no errors, one warning only, but when i press any of the buttons the app crash, and exit : / i checked the code but i didnt find any problem with it, Can you ( or someone) post the code? Couse the link is broken!

  • @drivolis Same here! It crashes when I press any button :(

  • Could someone paste the text in a comment, the link is broken and I can't see it clearly in the video.

  • @princesskourtney19

    go spam somewhere else dickhead

  • Do i need to learn a programming lenguage to use sdk to make an iphone game? Thanks

  • Yes, you need to learn Objective C and Cocoa Touch. You can reduce the amount you need to learn by using Unity iPhone.

  • I've tried this on the latest Beta. 3.2

Seems to Build and Run 'Succeed Message appears'

But no preview. Simulator attempts to open but fails.

    Any ideas?

  • The asterisk is to indicate a pointer, not a title.

  • Awsome vid very helpfull

  • Awesome Dude!!!

  • There is a slight memory leak with the AlertView, You forgot to release it after it was shown.

  • When I hit control to drag "File Owner" up to each of the buttons, instead of saying button 1,2,3,4 it just says "view" and I followed everything in the beginning of the video fine. Any ideas on how to fix this please?

  • same here

  • @Grundalizer i have the exact same problem

  • @Grundalizer

Make sure you click save on the xCode project. Then try again

  • vahnfish, I had that problem but I just saved my xcode and i worked.

  • When you use "*" you say that's because you are "creating a title"?

No, you are creating a pointer.

  • When you alloc memory for an NSString, *PLEASE* also release it.

    Ugh.

  • 壁纸很好看

  • We would love to know which of these new features are finally included so developers can start takinng advantage of their presence in all the ingenious ways that they have done in the past. At EDUmobile. ORG - our iPhone Learning Course, that has over 100 students currently undergoing iPhone Development training, would try and incorporate as many of these new features as possible.

  • thanx a lot young man :-)

  • finally, thank you a decent xcode tutorial

  • Hi there,

Thank you for you helpful videos. I am struggling to put info button on the navbar?

If you can make a video on that, it would be really helpful...many many thanks!

  • When I go to drag File's Owner onto the Buttons, it doesn't list my buttons, only Outlets and view.

  • mac only supports xcode, PCs support Visual Studio

  • Great video Giles! where did you learn that??

  • what coding languages do I need to learn and in what order do I learn them in. for me to start working with x code to start making apps..

  • idk if youve got this answered yet, but look into modalviewcontrollers or just new views as a whole... you need to call an action (IBAction) with the button (IBButtonItem) in IB, and in the IBAction's implementation give it the command - whether it be modalview or not. If that was foggy for you, message me, ill help you further.

  • Where is modalviewcontrolls and wtf is new views? Please be more specific I can't find any of this shiz

  • Hey Giles,

Great tutorial mate, best I have seen so far, how do did you earn this stuff?
