@berserker276 So Tom Hanks The inventor of History strikes again How long will it be before he makes a film about America winning in Vietnam Winters military record shows clearly The Charge Buggery of Boys
@yogifalkmybitch Dick Winters is/was a real person dude he isn't fictional. All the characters in 'Saving Pvt Ryan' ARE fictional however. Band of Brothers is a true story.
When they died, these men traveled up to the gates of heaven. Once they met God, one soldier looked up and said "We've done a lot of things we're not proud of, even more that you won't approve of, so if you decide to send us to hell, we're OK with it." God looked at the soldiers, then turned to the gatekeeper of heaven, "let them in," God ordered. The gate keeper, confused asked why. God turned to face the soldiers as he answered,"Because these men just came from hell."
@yogifalkmybitch Oh my god you ungrateful piece of shit!!! you havent got the balls to do what these men did, so shut the fuck up you dickhead, go fuck yourself
@iBeckerX I don't think this was done intentionally, I think it was as simple as what you said, he did not keep in touch w/ Easy, so most of them thought he did not survive the wound. In the fog of war, it's out of the realm of possibility that men would think a shoulder wound, was a neck wound.
BOB is a true masterpiece. Nevertheless all veterans deserve respect, of all the allied forces. People around here should think about it more often. These brave men -even survivers- gave up their lifes for their country and for europe. It is maybe not for me to say it, but Hooah. A belgian.
@punkadelikdude Actually albert Blithe did not die. He survived the war and HBO and the book Band of Brothers falsely claimed he hd died. He actually died in 1967
@punkadelikdude He actually did survive. Stephen Ambrose falsely claimed he had died after interviewing many vets who incorrectly informed him he had died. HBO also falsely made this claim. he actually died in 1967 still on active duty.
The great leader that was Major Winters has sadly passed away on the second of January. Let our thoughts be with his wonderful wife and family. Rest in Peace Richard Winters. I, and I can say this for many others, is that I look up to you. :')
Rust in vrede Meneer Winters.
Ps. ook zijn mannen die voor ons hebben gevochten. Thanks
Assuming the characteristics and traits of all the men from Band of Brothers were true to their real life counterparts (which im sure they are seeing how the show was made off of them explaining their experiences during these events), I would have to say Captain Speirs was one of the baddest sons of bitches to set foot in that invasion! PERIOD!
It's unreal for me to think of these men as being alive and actually existing. Obviously they did, but it's still hard to grasp the full sacrifices they made for our country. I had the honor of playing for war veterans with my high school band yesterday, and I was really moved by some of the stories they told. God bless the 101st and all past and present soldiers.
@OhMyGourd94 i would love to be able to time travel back and be a part of that just to be in the war would be great .. but i cant so i pay my respects and honor them
@xXCutePuppy666Xx I wouldn't want to be in the war. Being distinguished among men for being a hero in a war would be a great experience, but I would never want to go through WW2, or any war for that matter. Being able to meet these men would be a treat, though. Just to be able to talk to them about their experiences would be so interesting.
Am just finishing up "Beyond Band of Brothers" . It is an actual nonfiction account of Easy Company from being assembled to being the first at Hitler's Hideaway Mountain Retreat. Excellent audio book.
@goholden12345 Yes, Easy Company, 506 Battalion P.I.R. IS the Band of Brothers. He's just not seen in this slideshow. I met the actor who played him, Douglas Spain.
Sad that these ww2 vets are dying..This day though it's old age killing.. My grandfather was in the Navy during WW2 and was around for the atomic bomb testing, there are even some old videos we have of them and he is old and in poor health.. one day withing 10-20 years all of vets of ww2 will be gone mostly from age and we will move on to vietnam vets (shit now about 50 years ago) to me it's a huge jump because living vets of ww2 are dying out as future progresses but thats how it is i guess.
