  • This track still manages to put a shiver up my spine, a timeless classic which brings back so many fantastic memories and experiences...combine this with The Source Ft Candi Staton 'You Got The Love'...defining house songs of their era. To anyone reading who was dancing & listening at that time....it was 25 years ago now!! My kids think these tracks are cool now.

  • La musica non dovrebbe farti piangere.E invece eccomi qua a 40 anni con le lacrime agli occhi.

  • I ♥ MUS♪C

  • Comment removed

  • @waynecoolj No my Dad aint heard of em either.....I think its called been past it mush!! lol!! "EEH when i were a lad house music were house music turntables made of stone and they were powered by whippets! If im not listening to house anymore then its dead!! " Cmon man were only having fun!!

  • @soulbass81 So you remember the stone turntables, they were amazing;) Plus my whippets tell me, "house music aint the same as before, it died when they no longer used them to power up the system". Also what about the chemical enhancements, any good now? Back in the day, the bond between everyone was solid, is it like that now?

  • @waynecoolj You are right about the bond mate! i do have to agree on that i live in the north of england where the so called bond in certain places is rather questionable to say the least but not everyones a bad guy, its what you make of it! like anything! Oh by the way to bring the drugs up if you needed the "chemical enhancements" to enjoy the music you aint no fan! we are on youtube here mate n young kids might read it n think they need to do it too much love! xxxx

  • @soulbass81 Where in the north are you? i used to frequent sheffield, leeds & stoke. did you go to any clubs around these areas? i did say chemical enhancements to not give the game away, but i am sure kids will now know what i mean as you said drugs;)

  • @waynecoolj Yeah yr right mate shopuld ve thought before i got on my massively high horse!!! lol!! I am in leeds [the warehouse has just reopened here after a refurb btw]

  • @soulbass81 Was it ever called Phobia?

  • @waynecoolj I dont think so. I think its always been the warehouse cos all the new romantic scene went there whaen Marc Almond was about and it was the warehouse then. But i could be wrong?

  • @soulbass81 You have amazing taste

  • @Outerspacehaze Why thank you! and by the looks of things so do you! Hope you enjoyed Frankie Knuckles! Man i am totally jealous!!

  • Me 44 me danced the floor way back when the tunes hit on the warehouse door by jesus christ almighty we raved in front of the law and even now the tunes still funking roar...

  • lol this is from gta san andreas! nice brings back memories

  • I've still got this 12" from bak in the day. .. Still dont understand the awful mix @ 5.02... what was Frankie thinking?

  • Animal collective sampled this and I'm happy I investigated it because it's boss.

  • @cashtherealitycheck SEE, THATS WHY IT SOUNDED SO FAMILIAR! Thanks for pointing that out!

  • @suttonbluenose2

search discogs.com you will find a copy!

  • for a second there I was like what the hell is gta sa? and what that got to do with house music ha ha but then I figured it out video games ..lol

  • gta sa is the best gta ever !

  • To the older ravers who listened to this back then, and to the newer gen who discovered it thanks to GTA SA, and to everyone else... It doesn't matter where or when you first listened. If you're HERE ,and if like me you LOVE this song, this is all what matters! Classic House forever.

  • any idea where I can pick this up, CD or vinyl I don't care?

  • @SuttonBluenose2 Rave anthems the best of rave its on compilation

  • @SuttonBluenose2 try discogs for the vinyl?

  • I was listening to some Nicky Blackmarket stuff earlier, and he's sampled a lot from this classic piece of music. I've fallen in love with it again!

  • By far the best..fantastic!

  • this is STILL giving me goosebumps! love it!

  • I'm sorry for the people who hate GTA (can't imagine that) but this song always makes me remind of the good old days driving through San Andreas (especially San Fierro). Love it!

    Greetings from Holland!

  • first heard this in a field carl cox played it as his opener............. gives me goose bumps im 39 what a amazing time 4 proppa dance music. gets inside me every time. LOVE TO ALL THE ORIGNAL RAVERS :-)

  • I remember the absolute revelation to my ears when I first heard this being played in a club. It literally hypnotised the entire dancefloor. Beautiful song

  • Respect to the younger gen who are here and loving this tune. I think there's always good music around, you just gotta dig deeper to find it... maybe because there's more copycat stuff now than there used to be. Someone somewhere is always keeping it real tho, trust. One love.

  • @AlexAlcyone Been surfing for good tracks all day, its a pleasure to see comments like this, nuff hating on comments already!

  • SF-UR !!!! GTA San Andreas!!

  • I want to thank the GTAs, it's because of them i can appreciate music from this era :)

  • @Artificeral this. i dislike gta 4 because of this because vice city and san andreas was like a portal back in time regarding music.

  • @Artificeral Me too! I can't believe how far I've dug. I've found lots of great music, and it wouldn't have happened if there was no GTA. I respect Rockstar for this. Amazing song!

  • suns coming up, and a doves going down, x

  • thumbs up if you're here because of grand theft auto san andreas

  • 24 people should be shot!!

  • Best years!! Best music!! Best nights!!!

  • this is so much bether than the new shit, all new music is manufactured in some way (the mainstream popular stuf) but this is stil so modern and it is 25 years ago? this was so ahead of its time it is blowing my mind!

  • @jarand4 who cares

  • Fabulous! Loved this ever since san andreas.

  • @MizzSparkle90 me to, but i am so sad that i did not grow up in the 80s and experience the good times, today the world is "diffirent" i am told, not like "before"

  • @jarand4 it has turned shity

  • Yeah Jamie Principle all the way, but give credit to Frankie Knuckles without him this may have still been sat in a box on a shelf somewhere never to be heard, and how grateful are we all.

  • this tune is the personification of mdma........A true blackburn classic

  • Il disco house più bello di tutti!

  • cool bin aus hamburg

  • Jamie Principle is indeed the true creator of this track. The great irony was the original version all the DJs had at the time was a cassette tape that went viral right across the underground. Fact is Jamie had never even heard of House Music when he made this, it was pure a pure wonderful coincidence it happened to epitomise the House music sound at the time. I do wonder why Frankie Knuckles gets all the credit for this.

  • What a chill track...nice

  • Theloana776, i correct, and what makes it even more amazing, as the story goes, he was only 15yrs old when he penned and made the tune.

Classic and absolutely beautiful- forget all the crap cover versions-

    THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!!!!!!!!!

  • The Dad Of House Yeaaaaaaaaaaah!! Maaaan Niceee ;D

  • This record has the same crackle at the beginning that mine has...lol

  • 3:50 FLORENCE & THE MACHINE - YOU'VE GOT THE LOVE (MARK KNIGHT REMIX) is the same song of the beging of this music

  • @HironNyx2 and not only love loads of others but this the one and only as it is the original :D

  • @TheIoana776 True, but the Mark Knight madethat sample much better!

  • @TheIoana776 No actually the original was done by Jamie Principle! He is the true mastermind and creator of this song.

  • @housemanchi thanks 4 that! i always belived it was frankie! was just listening to it and its great! loving it! there are loads of things that u learn of you tube :) x

  • @HironNyx2 thank you so much, I need to know more about it... this is the beginning, the root, core, just like Beatles and Elvis Presley for rock music ;)

  • The Father of House music :D

  • 80 s is the best!

  • This one makes me feel so good!

  • moooooorrreeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Pure brilliance.

    25 years Fucking wow.

I'm officially old, but glad I was a raver... 8-D

  • @HarrysSecret that rocks! I'm 22 and glad to discover it :) and missing someone badly who introduced me to this song. Universe hear me, I'm gonna fight for someone who showed me this music, and cross the forest, lands, seas, hemispheres. Frankie, thank you for connecting us! :D

  • @MarDesire First House track I ever heard had me hooked. I was maybe 15.

Look for Joe Smooth - Promised Land

It's earlier than this but you can hear how the music is progressing and become more bouncy, well... have a listen and you'll hear the similarities.

And get yourself to an Old Skool Reunion. Will be full of us old ravers, like no time has passed at all.

  • @HarrysSecret thank you so so much! I listened to the song, it really is the root :) I love the old school music, it's the best and so rich in value for me. I don't mind older music even (check out my playlists) I would be honoured If you help me find more bands, I'm thinking about the direction the music goes, I think it needs some revolution now. It's fool of dull, damb 'artists' making money not MUSIC. I would be honoured If you pointed me to more music. I'm from Poland, where is reunion???

  • @MarDesire check out marshall jefferson - move your body

  • Skomentuj ten film... Or maybe you mean any reunion (of course I do go sometimes ! :) I love Frankie Knuckes, maybe it's the only melody in this world, I feel like I was born many years ago, when Led Zeppelin and King Crimson still played, or Elvis, Beatles, not in 1989... it's a strange date, special ,Poland just was released of communism (I was born in August, it happened then!!) Do you know any artist from that time like Frankie, house music, underground? :)))))

  • @MarDesire Ask the channel owner here perhaps?

His knowledge is likely to be a heck of a lot better than mine who sang what and when! I didn't even realise this track was so old...

  • Comment removed

  • choonnnnnn

  • all heck yeah I haven't heard this in years pump that

  • Alhambra brothers

  • The year I was born... I missed such an amazing decade I wish I'd been born earlier! <3 house music

  • CHUUUUUUUURCH!

  • Now this isn't House. This is proper fucking HOUSE!!!

  • too true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • idk what everyone sees in this tune, personally i find it boring, certainly after the 100th fkn time!!

  • Comment removed

  • @wtfbollos You either FEEL House or you don't, I guess.

This trak is so brilliant, so wonderful, it reaches deep down inside me.

If you were around when it came out maybe you'd feel somethin.

Although there were House trax before this one (& even Farley, Raze & Steve Hurley entered the UK National Charts in 1986), this was arguably the one single trak that defined House & ignited House music that would change British Culture forever.

(This trax is a little speeded up though, I have to say)

  • @bootsamou oh i "feel" house alright...if only you knew! goto mediafire . com / mixesbm and check out my mixes and tell me if i "feel" it!! to me this is just another track that has been played to DEATH, way beyond it's actual merits..goto my profile and check out the "sauna mix" of alison limericks "where love lives" video i uploaded, now THERE'S a classic!

  • @bootsamou btw, i'm 49 years old and a qualified sound engineer, so i was there alright..for me the first house record was "music is the key" by j.m. silk and that was in 85. but juan atkins and others were doing stuff in 83 that became techno (clear by cybotron for example)..this track did not "define house" that's just laughable! no one track really "defines house"..but i guess you could pick "move your body" by marshall jefferson if you really had to pick a track.

  • @bootsamou "british culture" already was waaaay entrenched into club music, waaay before this..pre house it was "rap and rare groove" in the clubs..house came along in 86, acid in 87 and the full house explosion took place in 88 and we ain't looked back since..

  • people that say the past is the past didnt get it and still dont life means nothing to them.If this ment and means something to you "horray".

  • 24 peoples don´t have your love

  • why did my comment get removed?

i just said "I love the 80's sound"

  • haha all the little kiddies sayin this isnt HOUSE? need to do their research and homework and understand where HOUSE came from and that the music they listen to nowadays are just sub-genres of the original house sound that has changed soo much ..But yes-this is a seminal HOUSE classic!! HOUSE was named after the warehouse nightclub in Chicago in the 80s..and who was the resident there?- youve guessed it-FRANKIE KNUCKLES!!

  • An arpeggiator, drum break, and a little bass line. There's nothing brilliant about this, or "better" than the music of today. Anybody who owns a Juno 6 and a sampler could make something similar in two minutes, whether or not you know how to play.

  • my word what a sad lot...the past is the past let it go.

  • @oldagetraveler

The the real sadness is that the new 'lot' will let there superstars go in a few months. There is no problem holding on to the past if it brings more smiles than the present. :-p
