  • Damned thing is, I've never heard this piece my whole time playing Oblivion.. and I regret it.

  • I remember when I was in my last days in the army, I asked a gamestop guy what game is good that will keep me playing forever and he recommended Oblivion. I never looked back and played the shit out of it. The best game I have ever had besides my castlevania nes games.

  • coollol

  • Everytime I hear this, I think of my Khajiit. When the piano starts up, I immediately think that, hey, she's all alone. No family, no friends, she's just out there, by herself, having to kill and steal stuff just to get through life.

  • there is a whole world out there

  • The piano bits are pretty much the highlights of this song.

  • These songs make me feel like I'm a part of so much more. If it doesn't feel the same for the rest of you listeners I just want you all to know that there's an even bigger world outside of just this video game and you can win at it every single day if you put your mind to it. You don't have to kill anyone or steal. Just turn that quest into a couple steps and you'll eventually pass every test and feel like your the best. Keep your heart open as wide as your smile. Everything comes after a while.

  • @CooleyProductionz Good comment. But you forgot to mention that there will always be bumps on the road to whatever quest lies ahead. Even complete chasms for which one may believe is the end of it all.. only to find there is always another way.

  • epic

  • This is my favorite song in this game. probably because it was the first song i heard after i escaped the jail.

  • everytime i torture myself listening to these soundtracks, and want to play oblivion. only to realize.. i've scratched it dry with nothing else to do. D':

  • Where do you download this?

  • 0:40 sends shudders down my spine. Brings back great gaming memories.

  • This sums up perfectly why i will always go back to playing Oblivion and Morrowind. The Elder Scrolls spirit that Skyrim lacks so much.

  • @louiscfc93 I agree skyrim not only lack the ES feel but it wasn't that good of a game to begin with. Oblivion is one of my favorite games of all time, and skyrim was a average game, but can never out do oblivion which IMO is a much better game then skyrim.

  • man this song is amazing, just out of curiosity, anyone remember this being used in the intro to Clear Vision 1

  • How can I put this masterpiece in Skyrim?

  • i've been looking for this....it brings me piece

  • This one makes me think of the Shivering Isles and what great atmosphere it had.

  • This should be in Hobbit the movie , perfect

  • I don't know why it reminds me of the sound of rain, falling in the plains of Skingrad while I quietly strut with my horse...or the calm snow falling near the Cloud Ruler Temple...

  • Is this really only on the PC version... I swear I've heard this in my xbox version...

  • @krcrulez677 no its on both platforms :)

  • So beautiful, so tranquil, so serene.

  • Best song in the game in my opinion, such a good song to sit in the middle of cyrodill and look at the night sky. Love the shit out of oblivion, hell the whole TES series

  • HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THIS EARGASM I'M HAVING.png

  • 1 person did not like walking everywhere

  • This is my fav of the lot due to 0:29, Just had a gruling day of combat, barely made it out of the last brotherhood mission alive, lost a companion, headed back to my cheap house in Bravil, Its night time im just crossing the bridge and this starts playing, i look up at the stars and relish in the beauty that is Oblivion...

  • I just love the low strings at the beginning; magnificent!

  • Magic *snort* *snort*

  • Gotta love Jeremy Soule!

  • 1 dislike!?!

  • @karkkikatu111 It was obviously Mehrunes Dagon >.>

  • like putting a single drop of poison into a serene lake, someone has placed a single dislike on this song, defiling it for us all.

  • 0:30 first time i heard this piece was on a road overlooking the imperial city at night it was so peaceful and a guard came by on horse and greeted me..

most emersive oblivion moment for me

  • how will skyrims music measure up? we shall see 11.11.11

  • @ZypherLockjaw How it measured up: terrible. As much as I friggin love Skyrim, the music just didn't cut it. :'(

  • @ZypherLockjaw nope.

  • Stupidest* >.>

  • Jesus christ, people on youtube argue about the stupidesy things.

  • oblibion was soo... so beautiful :)

  • someone noticed the URL ?

  • My favorite Oblivion soundtrack. The feeling I get from this... there's nothing quite like it. Brings me back to the North, under a sky lit with countless stars, as I watched across the Jerall mountains... hoping, curious... I had no idea at all that one day I would really go to Skyrim.

    II.II.II

  • i have decided this is my favourite oblivion song

  • One month, fellow gamerz. Does anyone know a site where we could all post and share our experiences of Skyrim? We should all go join a site (spoiler free forum). Also being as though our characters are going to vary, perk wise.

  • for me...this music brings an imagery of a land...world...that i have never seen before...and i am roaming...exploring this vast beautiful yet mysteriously spooky world...

  • I feel ya brother

  • A Wild Troll appeared! Music used Cut!

  • there is not a single dislike for this video ,it is a proof that this music is perfect

  • @baharsea2007

Don't you know not to EVER say that on YouTube?

  • @baharsea2007

When you say "THERES NO DISLIKES LOLOLOL" people go and start disliking it just because you say that.

Stop saying this in videos if you want the dislikes to stop, moron.

  • @baharsea2007 two idiot detected under the button

  • @baharsea2007

that's a ridiculous thing to say. it can never be true because in all the time any video exists it's going to get at least one dislike...

  • @Charmander4533 I love technology too. Born in it, so this is our time. I think The Elder Scrolls brings out one's sense of being 'close' to nature. I think that that's what everyone on hear loves. Not necessarily the political and medical issues of the Medieval Era.

  • @dupree82 You and Charmander4533 are both right except for the fact that the Elder Scrolls is actually just a video game that suspends our disbelief because normal life is boring and we want to be able to live in our own fantasy. AKA- I think Virsidius is a depressed retard.

  • @Charmander4533 It's because people were more close to nature. Especially societies like the Celtics. Of course they had fears. But, there were no MP3's and videogames and PC's. People would pray together and have festivals in the woods. And that's the cost of Technology, we've moved away from what we came from.

  • This song is really nice to play with acoustic guitar, being relatively simple.

  • Only on the pc version :(

  • Comment removed

  • I can play 0:31 to 1:01 on my Ocarina it sounds so awesome!

  • 0:31 Amazing!

  • This sound is amazing. It's hard not to fade out when listening to this

  • Adding to the perfect list of likes ;D

  • DONG DONG-DING-DONG DING-DONG-DING

  • was time really like oblivion many years ago? if so why the fuck wasnt i born then : (

    0 Dislikes.

Now THATS What I Like To See.

  • dmt+this song = great triumph

  • The piano part starting from 0:29 ... is so beautiful.

  • @Ping653 its very go hiking stop on a tall mountain and watch the stars with a slight breeze through the trees

  • My favourite.

  • Once I here this on the game I stop, so I can hear this wonderful piece. And I check if there are any creatures nearby

  • @RussianAndre its so beautiful

  • On Bruma.

  • This song made me fall asleep and have one of the best naps of my life.

  • like FlameShotLord said its in the mountains if you go deeper into the mountains you begin to hear this graceful tune

  • I have the 360 version and I have heard it....

  • this music does show up in the xbox 360 version

travel far enough into the mountains and you will hear it

i recall this song playing today during the quest for countess carvain, in bruma, where you get her some artifact

  • Jeremy S. is true genious. If you ask me what do I understand under temr of "art" I will say without hesitation that music which makes people write following comments is art:

With this song, i close my eyes and i wake up in to a white snowy forest..on my horse, with a torch in my left hand, and the right one a sword...traveling and trying to find my way back to civilization, then i hear the wolves...that freezes my heart, i fall down, and see the snow how is slowly falls, then i wake up in bed..

  • I was going to type that i dont recall this song in the game (xbox 360) But see that other people are thinking the same and some saying it wasnt included. However they guessed or found out, i can say i dont know it if it was. But it is really nice. I cant see anywhere in the game that it'd fit in either. Perhaps i just wasnt exposed to it in a certain area. But if i was going to pick a place, i'd say northen and snowy forest or along some water.

  • @HigginsUltraSedative, it's included in the PS3-version. That's where I heard it. Can't say for sure it's 100% identical to this one though, but the piano part is definitely either the same or very similar.

  • Thank you thank you, been looking for this song. Love it.

  • I like hearing this song when I kill someone and then a member of the brotherhood starts talking to me :)

  • what part of oblivion is this music played?O.o

  • @Johnny72192 try traveling out of a city for a while, this song is bound to play after a while, if not immediately after you exit the gates.

  • @Johnny72192 it does not play on xbox or ps3 only pc

  • my favorite thing in oblivion was the music, i hope skyrim makes the same music this oblivion had... PLEASE dont make that shit kind of game music that everyone likes for some reason.

  • @Virsidus Yeah sometimes I just think I was born in the wrong time period or even the wrong world >.<

  • REMINDS ME OF LORD OF THE RINGS

  • So beautiful, always wanted to born in those times, or atleast in the middle ages, being a knight, fighting for honor and justice, participating at beautiful jousts, sword duels, archery contests, hunting wolves with other brave brother knights, dancing with beautiful ladies at parties, drinking Ale and Red Wine, who is with me, who ever wanted to be a knight in shiny armor, no pollution, no technology, only simple things....

  • @Virsidus I guess it's fun until you die from a strep infection. The Middle Ages are not nearly as great a time to have lived as we have romanticized them.

  • @jeriktelorian So true. I hate when people are like oh" those good old days" sriously? Are you that blind. Video games are great. Being a pesant getting rapped by "honorable knights" is another.

  • @Virsidus Your living in a fantasy world and your mind is warped by playing a video game. Times were terrible back then, trust me, you should be thankfull you live in a lot less of a harsh time period.

  • Ooo this gives me chills! Quite peaceful though (: cant think how many times i've been wondering through the forest at the dead of night and this little tune pops on.. it just sorta makes you think.. not many songs can do that

  • This song played after i leaved Kvatch destroyed by daedra , it was really sad feeling

  • i wonder.... can you find better relaxing song than this 1?

Plz make skyrim have identical song with oblivion then i believe we gonna be lost in game for hours and hours

  • T_T -rushes through his games, dusts off Oblivion, and downloads it again-

  • I simply love this. 0:30 reminds me of shivering isles. This is the best music in Oblivion. It makes me pretty sad actually. When I listen this, I feel like I would be running in a forest, a dark sky above me, riding on my horse in the Jerrall mountains or travelling in the strange jungles of Shivering isles. Oblivion has very good soundtrack; maybe the best I know. It's too bad that you can't download or buy it from ps3 store. I hope that they would add this to Tes V: Skyrim. Love this<3

  • This is the song I always look foward to hearing when I play Oblivion. Its so calming and relaxing. Brings your mind at ease.

  • With this song, i close my eyes and i wake up in to a white snowy forest..on my horse, with a torch in my left hand, and the right one a sword...traveling and trying to find my way back to civilization, then i hear the wolves...that freezes my heart, i fall down, and see the snow how is slowly falls, then i wake up in to a warm bed...love it, i really wanted to born in those times, or in the middle ages... *Sigh*

  • @Virsidus Aye, back in the days when scaleys and cat people be common. Much do I envy those born in a time when the power to shoot fireballs could be bought at a store.

  • @Virsidus There are still desolated places on earth, but you wouldn't want to be in there. Life was very harsh in the middle ages, and short. Try to see the good things of our time.

Every coin has 2 sides, no advantage without disadvantage, no good without evil, no warmth without cold.

Always remember that games, movies, books, ... are an illusion that draws your mind into them, like the Matrix, ... "a prison for your mind".

Go for a walk and think about that. :)

  • @Virsidus fartass

  • @Virsidus The elder scrolls is the best game. Rite.

  • @Virsidus You can go back to those times with disease and no laws and crazy shit, ill stick here being able to listen to this and play games like oblivion :P

  • @Virsidus I wanna be born in Cyrodile.

  • @Virsidus Take a freaking middle ages class and then tell me you still would want to live there. 98% of the human population was living in honest to god shit and in constant fear of horrendous, torturous death from 1. crusades 2. not paying the extreme taxation or 3. capture from a rival kingdom. There was virtually no medicine to speak of, so it's a pretty solid bet you wouldn't live to 30. Why are people always romanticizing that period?!? IT WAS FUCKING HORRIBLE.

  • @charmander4533 Dude if you don't understand a dream!Be quiet and listen to the music

  • @charmander4533 because they think that THEY will be king

  • @charmander4533 Shut up and enjoy the music.

  • @charmander4533 You're right :D... By saying "I want to live in the mid age!" they probably meant "I want to live in the Elder Scrolls world!", which would suck too.

  • @charmander4533 Nirn is much different to medieval Earth. For a start Nrin may seem as primitive as middle ages Earth but the truth is they are so much more advanced. They have magic, actual real dietys and true justice system and you don't get hanged for having your own say. I'd rather live on Nirn than Medieval Earth anyday.

  • @NANOFORGE Way to not read the original post. He wanted to live in the middle ages.

  • @charmander4533 Way not to read my comment.

  • @charmander4533 Actually he was clearly talking about the game which is obviously set in the renaissance, big difference. But... 1) I'm pretty sure the crusades would hardly effect a common person because the crusades were to Judea not Europe. Granted men were forced to fight, but they got glory and goods from it (if they survived D8 ) 2) 10% of everything isn't that much. If you had ten carrots you only had ti give one away 3) You got me there 4) if someone made it to 16, they'd make it to 80

  • @dadisfad Ok, 1) You need to read more historical accounts from the crusades, particularly the first four. They almost always spoke of how they truly believed that they were experiencing the end of the world. and 2) He said right at the end, in plain english, that he would prefer cyrodil or the middle ages to modern times, which is fucking crazy

  • @charmander4533 1) I've read lots of books about this, and taken about four classes on this :D Now the people IN the war, that's different 2) That's what I meant, he wanted to be in the Tamriel middle ages, I ran out of room )= , but those games are based clearly on the renaissance, nothing Feudal about it

  • @dadisfad This is not worth arguing over

  • @charmander4533 You're right : D

  • @charmander4533 quit pissin on people dreams. no one cares.

  • @charmander4533

Because compaired to the darker side of modern life, it was paradisio.

  • @Lordofdragons16 That is the most ignorant response I've heard yet.

  • @charmander4533

Glad to be of help, asshole.

  • @Lordofdragons16 Stay stupid!

  • @charmander4533

    Uh, pardon?

  • @charmander4533

Think about modern poverty, the violence, guns, drugs, and our air pollution. The planet is getting wrecked, and other species are starting to evolve to higher intelligence. Were going to be in a massive war to save our ball of shit unless we abandon it. In the middle ages, you could get a decent job, go to church, and maybe even see the local alchemist whip up something spectacular. Ever see a phosphorus lamp? Didn't think so.

  • @Lordofdragons16 You need to do some actual research. Start with literature such as History of the Franks, Holy warriors, etc, almost all accounts talk of how they thought it was the end of the world. Do you think these days are the end of the world??????

  • @charmander4533 When people say they would want to live there, they think about being higher up the feudal system bro, being Knights or Lords. Now THAT would be pretty good, apart from dying from toothaches...

  • Comment removed

  • @charmander4533 It is because people who made it through weren't pansies like you...

  • @charmander4533

Because in that period there were MEN who would take arms to defend a cause they considered JUST. They swore in their HONOR fealty to a King, a man they not only admired, but respected. Because people CARED much for what REALLY matters in life, because the best music in history was composed in that period, because the only way out of a confrontation was FIGHTING and not cowering, because wars were based upon honor, and not sassy soldiers shooting each other miles away, etc.

  • @AngelofKaos Ignorance is just as prevalent as it was back then, certainly worse. Very little was romantic about that time, you sound like a some naive kid.

  • @charmander4533 Depends on what social class you were in, Sir. If you're anything above a Knight, though you'd likely be French, you'd be doing well.

  • @charmander4533 you do realize its a game right? this time period didn't exist..... its fictional. There are no crusades in TES, you don't have to pay taxes, and you certainly don't die of diseases. I would love to live this "time period" lol

  • @0utbre4k You sir, are an idiot. Read the original post I was responding to, he said he wanted to live in the middle ages. THAT'S A REAL THING.

  • @charmander4533 cool lol

  • @charmander4533

all he had to say in response was "cool lol" haha well done.

  • @Virsidus To me it's more like: I am standing on a hill alone, sad and cold. Ashes falling down from the sky, lightning brightens the horizon, and infront of me is a burning city. No one alive, it's just empty as I stare at it from the hill. Hope is lost, nuclear winter got the better of us.

  • @Virsidus You wish you were born in the middle ages? When the corrupt Catholic church would kill anyone who didn't follow that religion? When plagues constantly ravished towns? When you had to be born into chivalry in order to become a squire and eventually a knight? When very few people lived past the age of 40? When there was an extremely large lower class, barely any middle class, and a small upper class? Didn't think so.

  • @GasMaskedMidget buddy chill, it's just a dream, don't start stating the obvious.

  • @GasMaskedMidget dude...he was talking bout Elder Scrolls...not Europe...:D

  • @GasMaskedMidget Moment I saw Virsidus' comment, I knew some idiot was going to come and say what you said as if he didn't know all that stuff.

  • @TSHMerc Well, to be honest with you, I don't think he does :P

  • Great one! Thanks for uploading.

    Stonex
