  • samsung isnt junk as a whole. its just this year and a few models that had quite a few issues, including blown caps. Ive owned 3 sammys over the years and non had problems

i do think samsung should offer a longer factory warranty though

  • Google samsung tv problems and read the real TRUTH about these GARBAGE tvs.

    DON'T BE A SHAMSUNG SUCKER !!

  • Samsung screwed THOUSANDS of it's customers with JUNK tvs.

    DON'T LET SHAMSUNG SHAMYOU !

  • We managed to cancel our Dish Network service this weekend since antenna gives us all our local New York area, as well as about 8 PBS channels, local and from other states, in very high quality now... that's $43/month reduction in our bill...

  • I figured out that if you don't connect DTV-Converter Box to your HDTV capable tv, antennas work better... my mistake was I tried to use converter box for our Terk HDTVa antenna... it's catching all local NY area stations, their subsations, in 100% HD and you guys were right... It actually is better than cable or satellite, which I've tried both... picture quality is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HIGH, it's hard to explain.

  • I have LN52A650 52" tv for little over a year now... only thing I don't like is when I try to get over the air signals using antenna, i don't get them in good quality as I used to w/ my old tv... so I basically have to get cable to get clear signal...

  • @EsotericDesi

You might try a bigger, better antenna. I can tell you that HDTV actually looks better over the air than it does from most cable or satellite companies. Check out Crutchfield for tips on getting better HDTV reception.

  • That hint of red on the top and bottom are really nice. Although the one with the red on all sides looks a little less nice in my opinion. But they are great looking tv's

  • I have a confession. EXTREMELY embarrassing. I JUST NOW noticed the button-less touch controls on the lower right side of the TV frame. I am a complete idiot. I was wondering why Samsung allowed such liability in what I thought was putting "all the eggs in one basket" for a remote control. Please don't hate me, people. lol

  • Don't let samsung shamyou!!

Put "SAMSUNG TV CLICKING" into a google search to read about THOUSANDS of samsung customers that are screwed and pissed off because their tvs took a dump right after the warranty expired. Do the search before you buy so you won't be the next SAMSUNG SUCKER !!

  • ty and that was a quik respose

  • Hi blacktear,

You will not likely find these exact models available any longer. They have been replaced by newer models from Samsung.

The "B" replaces the "A" in the new model numbers. You can find them all at Crutchfield. Of course Crutchfield has all the info you could possibly want on them, plus you can buy them there, pretty cool.

  • HUGE QUIESTION where can u buys these because i have been looking 4 ever but i cant find it could you send me a link or name a store plzz

  • i have the b650 from this years line up i love it

  • we have that t.v.

  • wmarkj,

The "A" series of TV from Samsung has been replaced by the "B" series for 2009.

Below are the differences between the newer models, the B630 and the B650:

    100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio

Ultra Clear Panel technology for better shadow detail and more vibrant colors

Internet@TV widgets for convenient web content streaming

DLNA compliance for playing music and videos from a PC running DLNA software

pre-loaded HD content, including a picture gallery, recipes, and games

  • what is the difference between the 630 & 650?

  • Ok ok, so I have a problem... I can get the A750 and the B650 for about the same price.. What I'm stumped on. Is which one should I buy? I know the B650 has 100:000:1 and Ultra Clear screen, but the A750 has a killer processor... It's going to be used for movies/ X box 360... Which one is better?

  • I agree! Great TV, it's got this and that, and buy it here! The damn American way. And the red bezel? Great, now I have to buy the matching stand? No info on how it interconnects to 3rd party DVD players or Blueray? No picture of the remote? What a garbage! ( The new Samsungs are great, butch Crutchf. isn't)

  • these guys aren't technological enough. 120Hz is not there for smooth motion whatever you see. It it the Frame Interpolation System that applies the extra frames that made it looks ultra smooth or soup effect -> The AMP = Auto Motion Plus. The main purposeof 120Hz is to cut down the blurs and to free judder of 1080/24 films.

  • I have an A650 and I think it's a fantastic set, the only issue I have with it is that the screen is too shiny and shows too many reflections. I have a couple of other LCD TV's in my home...a Sony Bravia 40" and a 32" Sharp Aquos...it's better than the Sony but the Sharp Aquos is still my fav because of the anti-reflective screen

  • 650 bottom frame curves down and the 750 is just a rectangle. and the 750 have this guide where you can watch cook, sports and some other useless things. i prefer the 850. just because its more slim.

  • While appreciate that they did a review, I want a review about the TV - not the frame! I've seen a couple of video reviews and they all talk about the red frame, got it the frame has a red band on it. Enough! Get to specs, the difference between the tv's, why one over the other. There's more than the red band to talk about here.

  • Absolutely BEAUTIFUL picture from these series TVs, perfect for home theatre and movies... but the lag I received playing Xbox 360 and PS3 rendered the games nearly unplayable. FPS, Racing games, pretty much anything that requires split-second response was destroyed; from silly games like Geometry Wars on XBL Arcade, to Wipeout HD on PS3. Very disappointing, especially considering Samsung is one of the best names out there :/

  • how so? Doesnt this thing have a 4ms response time?

  • "response time" is just how fast the pixels change from one state to another (usually off to on, or sometimes grey to grey, aka "GTG"). Response time is NOT to be confused with Input Lag; input lag is what you should be concerned with if you're going to be using an HDTV for gaming. I bought a Sharp Aquos after going through this samsung, and a sony bravia. The Aquos has LIGHTNING fast input response when in Game Mode, even with a composite or s-video signal.

  • Also if you wanted a 6 series you'd be better of with a 650 rather than the 630. Even though the 630 is newer, the 650 comes with an extra HDMI port, higher contrast ratio, and a ultra clear panel thingy to brig out the colors more.

  • the 630 is $400 less than the 650 right now at circuit city

  • Thanks this review helped. I think I'm going to buy the 750.

  • Get a 650 instead, the 750 has nothing different quality wise. Only a few bells and whistles but for tv and gaming purposes the 650 is the same as the 750 but more expensive.

  • i heard the 750 has a better picture processor.

  • my family bought the 52 inch LN52A750 last week, and i gotta tell you the picture is amazing even when i'm watching soccer.

  • Great Review Guys!
