I watched WFAA back in 2001-02 when I was stationed in the AF in San Angelo because it was the only interesting news channel to watch in the area. I hear that they kept the same theme music and hardened it a little with the guitar. I like it, but, I miss the 8 spinning around in circles. That's why I always refered to it as the "Spinning 8 News," when the channel number use to spin around alot.

i live in the DFW area and watch NEWS8 every night and i think the openings and newscast are great(especialy the music)and the people from out of town who say it sucks dont know what thier talking about.

Not all stations in America look like that. A lot of stations choose music & graphics that reflect the quality of their newscast. Unfortunately, some stations loose touch & over do the graphics & musuc.

this is an old ad or watever, cause its not the only one in dallas fortworth in HD now almost all the stations are in HD now and not it says "LIVE FROM VICTORY PARK, YOU ARE WATCHING NEWS 8 NOW IN HIGH DEFENITION", but the music is still the same. (vicotry park is their other studio.)

Yeah...it doesn't really seem like Hothaus would create something like this...cuz these graphics really are quite distracting almost seem too cluttered.

They were created by Hothaus.

KHOU's were created by Giant Octopus.

Oh, I can tell because Hothaus created those same graphics for many of the ABC O&O's like KTRK and KMGH.

I don't know about that...this sounds a heck of a lot like Dick Ervasti, the man who does a number of promos for ESPN and was the first-ever voice for FOX Sports. The Ervasti delivery style is loud and clear to me.
