There are better sunglasses out there for pilots, it's almost getting hard to find Ray Bans that are unpolarised (illegal for a pilot to wear polarised) not to mentioned your co workers will be brutal to you if you rock up in a gold frame mirror aviators! Arnettes are a good brand and sturdy so you can bash them around in your flight bag, Serengeti's are very comfortable under a headset and the lenses are great but frames are fragile. I've gone through three pairs in a couple years at work.

The reason I think Aviators look really for lack of better words "Bad-ass" because it resembles kind of an authority look. It makes you look really serious and knocks people on their ass when you have the look for them. A good facial expression to have while wearing them is a very serious and emotionless state. the benefit is the coverage of the field of vision. i personally don't like more traditional sunglasses that only shade a small area of your field of vision. you look up/down and to the sides and all you see is the edge of those sunglasses with no protection. aviators or wraps are much better for coverage. expertvillage is a joke. not so many experts in most of their videos..
