As an ex-Christian I can really appreciate what he's saying. To me there seems to be so little real thinking in the church of america. They hand out the answers, to everything! Keep your faith in Christ if that's who you are, follow this to a true spirtual life, but put this bloated, ridiculous culture that's come out of it to death. Faith is not a weakness, & the spiritual dimension and our capacity to be in it is real.
I agree with about 90% of what you said, drop: jesus, god, monotheism and religion and you almost have an intelligent conversation going. You might try on domesticating the 'holy' texts.

Opting out of religion does not necessarily make one an athiest. Opting out of religion is more like leaving a job because the boss is psychotic.
