  • Why not mount the box inside, under the plexi glass ensuring it stays dry? You would have no tiny wires leaving the box. Then you feed the wires from the box thru the holes you drilled and then fill those holes with silicone after to keep moisture out?

Just an opinion. great job so far.

  • Sun spots and solar energy systems--does all this solar activity create any kind of risk of overloading a solar energy system?

  • Light light x

  • Belive it or not Free energy is real,But the Oil companies want these technologies unknown to the masses,Get a REAL working magnet motor at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Let the revolution begin!

  • @slipshodcoqbgg no one cares about this "free energy" its not oil companies. this crap isnt efficient enough to replace oil yet. give it more time.

  • hey- have you had any problems with the wood warping yet? I used quarter inch plexiglass for my backing and it warped- from research I was under the impression that wood warped far more than plexiglass but now seeing how warped my plexiglass is I am not too sure (posted vid of warpage on my channel/profile here). Have u heard of plexiglass backings on solar panels warping a lot? I would have posted a video response of the warpage but I did not see a button or option for video response.

  • I see you wired the diode from negative to positive connection which makes no sense to me. I thought the diode was to prevent current from leaking via the batteries in the evening hours. Wouldn't the diode be more effective if wired on the Red Lead Wire only, stripe facing the battery bank?

  • Another Q: I got that 10amp SunForce charge controller that you recommend- it says "for 12 volt systems and panels" My panel is 4 rows of 9 cells; 36cells (like yours .5volt each cell) so I have an 18volt panel- does this mean the panel is too high a voltage(18volts) for the 12volt sunforce charge controller?

  • so because ur solar panels are 18 volt panels will they screww up ur 12 volt solar battery charger thing?

  • For a year and a half now I have been wondering what king of connections are at the end of those two cables on the junction box- now that I can see it in a video it looks like they may be alligator clips? Is that right? The ebay pics ive seen made them look like some weird connection so I was hesitant to buy one- but alligator clips work for almost anything electrical- that would be cool!

  • @DJControllerC actually looking at the ebay link you gave for the junction box then going back and looking at this video- I think you have the same strange connections at the end of your cables on your junction box- what are they for? How do they hook up to the charge controller- I have never seen this type of interface- is it a standard for most charge controllers or is the junction box designed to hookup to something else?

  • @DJControllerC Theses are special connectors, not alligator clips, BUT, you can easily just cut off those special connectors and attach your own connector (ex. alligator clips). The decision is up to you and what works well for your application.

  • @RobertSmith3 thank you for clearing that up! Do you have any idea what those connerctors are for? Maybe has to do with a houseboat electrical system or something

  • @DJControllerC They are just to allow you to easily connect one solar panel to the other. Check out my recent solar videos where I'm attaching the UL SOLAR panels to my shed roof.

  • robert, your videos are excellent... well done...

  • Man I really liked all your videos you shoed so far I watched How To Build A Solar Panel - Part 1 through Part 11 I need to find your email so i can ask you a few questions

thx for all your hard work making your videos and sharing them with the world!

    Thanks again Robert

  • Great video. The point is that do it yourself is great if you're that kind of person that likes to put things together, but be careful when shopping online (especially online). I bought from 3 different sellers and only there is only one with whom I am happy I will continue buying from (ecoiq )

  • @solardiyguy living of the grid was an excellent seller on ebay in my experience- I think the main guys name is Stefan- he sells a digital diy guide for download too that is good

  • where is the link to this junktion box?

  • Visit the website in the description and scroll near the bottom, there should be an image of it. The seller I purchased mine from no longer sells it, but there are other sellers on eBay that sell similar junction boxes.

  • Thankyou I found one on ebay
