  • That's not only the wrong way to grease a bearing, It's being lazy and will end up shortening the life of the bearing and most likely a costly repair when it fails and burns the wheel to the ground from overheating. Expert Foolage.

  • great video how how not to pack wheel bearings way to go chief

  • Torque wrenches are just boy-toys too, you can just tighten by hand to manuf specifications.

  • Who taught you how to do it the wrong way? A grade 5 kid?

  • Clean bearings. Yes do them all why get dirty twice, with a palm full of wheel bearing grease, scoop and drag the large end of the bearing through the grease until it is squeezing out the smaller end. Rotate each bearing so all bearings are fully packed!

This guys way is not packing.

  • Lol, them boy toy bearing packers serve there purpose, and they do it alot more thorough then you!!! However your way works ok to I guess. Although you didn't PACK the bearing, only lubricated it...

  • Good lord this dude's an idiot... Bearing packers... Meh, they're just a toy. Who needs wheel bearings anyway... Next time I'll just spray some WD40 on em' and call it a day! ;)

And this guy is an "expert"... This is why I do all my own work... Pack your wheel bearings "Nathans way" and you'll be replacing bearings every 50 miles...

  • Nice, I was looking for a video on how to lubricate my brake rotor!

  • LOL! Way to set those fresh greased cups on the ground. For proper installation instructions, reference SKF Wheel Bearing

  • DO NOT do what this idiot says!! That is not how you repack a roller bearing!! What you do is take a glob of wheel bearing grease and put it in your palm, then tap the bearing on your palm till you see it squeeze out the top, you will see the bear fully PACKED and not lightly greased like this moron has done!! This guy is the VILLAGE IDIOT!! NOT an expert at all! yikes....

  • is there any kind or type of grease to use on hub bearings?

  • only a yankee wld agree! This guys a joke that aint no way to pack a bearing!

  • Comment removed

  • I don't want this guy as my Mechanic. I Don't want him near my Bearings. Agreed?

  • Nope, the beariing assy should be packed with grease, hence the name....REPACKING wheel bearings. Also, I learned in 1962 that the whole hub cavity should be packed, so grease can flow to the bearing if needed.

  • why not pack it properly,

  • Thank You for taking the time to make your video. Your clear and easy to understand in your videos . Thanks

  • fords suck!

  • Actually, Fords makes the best trucks.

  • Rangers lead the way!

  • that's the way i did it on my truck when i replaced the rotors for the first time

  • What are your qualifications? This goes to all the people posting comments here. I see lots of people saying this is not right but no certifications to back up their talk. Unless your a Master Technician. And ASE certified, please keep you comments to yourself. Most shadetree mechanics use too much grease, to much torque, to much everything. I do not agree with the way he "packed" the roller bearings, but i am not a Master Tech either. However I have learned from a Master Tech.

  • please just shut up it's common sense, people have been doing it this way for years including myself and I've never had a car come back for this.

  • ok I'll shut up, as long as you do the same. To each his own.

  • stupid gyco!!!!

  • DO NOT do what he say's this is the wrong way to pack a bearing,he used for to little grease. it's called packing for a reason, not rub it on and spin

  • i put a glob of grease in a 'vacuseal' zip-lock bag with my bearing-. plenty of grease!- and suck out the air with the vaccum pump. saw it on truck u... but they had a some fancy job...

  • He did a fine job.. fuck all you arm chair qbs you shit talkers probably couldn,t put air in a tire

  • No kidding

  • MEGA fail. Please don't use this to repack your bearings.

  • honda removly

  • This video shows a poor method of greasing the bearings. You need to "Pack" the wheel bearings by putting a glob of grease in the palm of your hand and then push the bearing into the grease until grease comes out the other side. Also, you need a good thick layer of grease in the cavity of the rotor so you don't have issues with condensation accumulation (i.e., rust). He also didn't put enough grease on the spindle. Better make sure you have the right grease too! Not good!

  • first, im pretty sure there are more colors of wheel bearing grease other than "caramel" (what i like to call it), but ya i agree he doesnt pack them, but i guess wheeling it in would be fine

  • This video is NOT an accurate way to properly pack a bearing.

    1. Not using enough grease

    2. Not using wheel bearing grease

This guy is a chooch and the reason why I don't like other people working on my cars

  • oh cmon atleast he made a video to help did you?

  • He would be better off NOT making a video so people don't screw up their car.

  • what a idiot , I think he works at geeksquad and read the theory online and has never been shown the correct way . What an idiot

  • even if he did do only theory he should be smarter than this...

  • Thats no way to pack a bearing , not enough grease , I can see a return on this repair .Expert village what a joke

  • thats not the proper way foo.. first not enough grease in the bearings.. u need to "pack" it in there..

  • of course its bearing grease fool you can tell by the colour and texture hes a fuckin profession hmmm i think it was balljoint grease yeah thats it hahaha

  • I hope that was bearing grease you used there mate.

  • i use balljoint greese and they last forever

  • bearings need a extreme preasure grease and they will last longer
