  • @Tolgron34

Yeah i noticed it too. :)

And for those who are wondering which languages she sings in, it is old Swedish. They believed that old swedish sounds like that ( the people who made the movie ). ^_^

    P.s excuse my english.

  • That scene is just soo funny like who sings at a funeral

  • When I saw the movie and she started singing I was like WTF and started lmao

  • @Zalamannn the singing was perfect

  • @SquareEnixite alright your opinion, i still don't like it

  • Just noticed; at first Eowyn's hair is uncovered, but then suddenly in the next shot it's covered with a black shawl. Hmm.

Either way, this is a fantastic scene. That I picked up on the hair thing was probably because I can't stop watching it.

  • penis?

  • @MrBandicoot91 problems?

  • 1:21

BALROG! BAMM! I always thought that bit was rather funny

  • 0:08 hotness to the right ^^

  • @Petermedgedeskaeg i realy realy hope ur a girl

  • @samuelfradanmark haha, i am ;P

  • I had hoped that Peter Jackson in the extended cut commentary, would have shed some light as to why this was cut out. But all he talked about was how they created the illusion of the massive gathering. :(

  • Bealocwealm, Hafað fréone.Frecan forth onsended. Giedd sculon singan gléomenn sorgiende.. on Meduselde þæt he ma no wære his dryhtne dyrest an mæga deorost. Bealo!

  • Very Touching..

    Love it

Why is it not appearing on the film?

  • @SummerMeiMei Extended edition of the Two Towers =)

  • That awkward moment at your funeral when your cousin just starts singing.

  • @cauldronjinx Actually this is done for centuries in every funeral in my country, well at least in countryside.Women from the country can describe a man's life and good sides real well. Those laments are supposed to be unique for every man but it's quite formulaic and has continuus repeptitive melody than this.

  • Honestly, I loved her portrayal of Eowyn in this movie and the next one as well, despite the fact that she's a bit older. The fact that she's singing like that just shows how much she was committed to the part, especially in a scene like this. I mean, who would sing beautifully at a funeral in real life? Her singing was perfect for this scene. She showed true sorrow for losing Theodred. I think I'd want to attend this funeral, but at the same time, I wouldn't want to. It's just so sad....

  • @crapcom1222 despite her BEING OLDER??? What do you mean??? How can you judge someone's performance by their age?????

  • @ssssquare If you knew the actual story, Eowyn is younger, ok? They could have chosen an actor that was younger, I never said that her age played a part in her acting.

  • @crapcom1222

But living with this level of technology can't have been easy. I mean, poor nutrition, no sunscreen, ect. I bet if we saw some 23-year-olds from ancient times they would look much older than you'd expect them to. So I think casting a younger actress would have been a poor choice; especially since there is all that weird sexual tension between her and Aragorn.

  • @crapcom1222 In LOTR(the book) Eowyn was 23 and Miranda looks about that even though she was 33 at the time.

  • I actually got a fright when Eowyn started singing

  • The Rohirrim song is probably close to what Tolkien had in mind, but unfortunately it doesn't impress the modern ear.

  • @EWAdams speak for yourself :) I liked it

  • @EWAdams Psh, it more than impressed me. Speak for yourself. :]

  • cada vez q escuxo la cancion se me ponen los pelos d punta

  • Wow this is the best funeral EVER ! I can here eating chips and drinking soda pop XD

  • @boxanova66 Before you go chewing on her, remember, she is in tears!! I'd like to hear you sign when your close family member dies and your crying, and dieing inside. k, thanks.

  • @rachifyxx uhm...before you go full retard, remember this is just a MOVIE!!!!, am pretty sure you cried like a lil' bitch to this scene...and it is spell dying, not dieing you fuckfart :)

  • @boxanova66 Haha, nahh I didn't cry. I just now saw this part, so yeaaa. and This is just a comment, no need to go all out on me :P

  • @rachifyxx oh i'm sorry did I hurt your feelings again? my god, you are sensitive...

  • @boxanova66 dude diggity :P you never hurt my feelings... if you hurt them, i'd let you know, lol.

  • @rachifyxx at this juncture, I think our relationship is mature enough for you to send me a naked pic of yourself (if ur a girl) if ur a dude, well, send me a naked pic of ur girlfriend, wife, sister or cousin :)

  • @boxanova66 Um... perv :P

  • Awful sound quality. Please put down dinner, chips, whatever and start over again. Argh!

  • Lol, everytime she starts singing I can't hold myself from laughing xD it's so unexpected

  • sound quality sucks

  • sounds as if she is singing backwards ^^

  • who's eating during a funeral???

  • I love the song she sings inspired by Beowulf. It's so beautiful. <3

  • WHY DID THEY CUT THIS OUT ??? WHY ???? XX

  • NAZGUl

  • lord of the rings is best movie ever created.

  • This scene is awful and her sing is terrible.

I don't understand why they haven't choose some younger and better looking actress to play Eowyn. Otto isn't how i imagine Eowyn. Especially in this scene she looks at least 35 and Eowyn was in her early twenties.

  • @loveatrej last time I checked, this took place in MiddleEarth, not LA. I think she's perfect as Eowyn and gorgeous as a human being. It's a matter of opinion, maybe that's why they choose her. Perhaps part of the reason she looks older is the scene takes place during a funeral? grief will age a person. I think her singing works because it conveys the heartbreak that is being felt. Not everyone is a perfect singer. but everyone can show grief and I think this scene captured it.

  • @TheaVetaria It's a matter of taste and opinion.

She looks older in all scenes. I can stand her when I see her with Faramir only. I like their story. Otherwise I don't like Otto and Eowyn in the movie.

  • I don't know why, but it seems that they switched Theodred's body with Grima's.

  • 1:00 Bitch singing 2 older womans Thinking: "Aww shit i cry because that sounds fucking bad"

  • I can understand why they remove this scene. THIS WOMEN IS ANNOYING.

  • @Finalzero you are

  • viva la casa de eorl el joven!!!!!!!!!

  • Not to sound like a freak but Theodred... is smokin' for a dead guy.

  • @FleetingVoid No freakyness there. If we'd all seen him alive in the film, Legolas could've moved to #2.

    <3

  • @xgirlsrulex9 NEVER

  • @buffy21033 ... You're right.. Theofred would sit in 2 ;) <3

  • @xgirlsrulex9 :) Legolas is always number one in our heads

  • @buffy21033 And always will be ;) xx

  • @xgirlsrulex9 as long as I live. I bought the special extended edition yesterday JUST so i could see more of him

  • For the loosers

"Bealocwealm hafað fréone frecan forth onsended

giedd sculon singan gléomenn sorgiende on Meduselde

þæt he ma no wære his dryhtne dyrest and mæga deorost

    Bealo... "

  • @TheShylock44 For those of us whose Old English is rusty. do you have a translation?

  • This is a song of grief. I wouldnt say it is beautiful but delivered with such heartfelt honesty... that actress deserves a prize!

  • I can't believe he DIDN'T INCLUDE THIS SCENE IN THE THEATRICAL RELEASE!

It's a shame most didn't get to see this when it was first released :(

  • Did Eowyn's song make it onto any of the soundtracks?

  • Anyone knows if this song is on the BSO of the movie?????

  • @legitimatemind

    FUCK U!

  • This is so much funnier with the background noise and people complaining about it lol I'm honestly laughing my ass off at this

  • @BritneySpearsRox Hahahaha me too dude me too xDDD

  • any one know when she sings if that's in one of the songs on the album

  • Cheetos? or May be nachos?

  • is there an actual scene of him dying lik the battle?

  • @Scremoisjusthowido no there is no scene of him dying in battle cuz even in the extended version it doesnt even show his battle at all it only shows the part when eowyn's brother's unit comes upoj the aftermath of theodred's battle and finds him half alive among the dead bodies but also theodred didnt actually die in the battle but died of his wounds

  • @cdums19 yeah yeah i knew that i just wondered if i had missed a scene they shoulda showed more of him

  • May be it's not the smartest Question.. but actually what is the fuckin kind of Foods could to do this Fuckin Noise; ..Please

  • eating much fatass>?

  • WOW !! IMAGE AND SOUND ARE SO GREAT !! It's really good video. In addition song between 0:58 and 1:04......absolutely amazing.

  • i think this is beautiful and really touching way of singing... no matter what she is saying, you can hear the grief in her voice

  • @MojedrugoJA totally agree with you mate

  • Awesome song!!!:)

  • Sounds like Lays Classic chips, I may be wrong though.

  • @10blood Fuck you!!!

  • @Scandinaryan Thank you!!!

  • @Scandinaryan No thanks. I don't fuck little children. I'm sure you will when you get older.

  • @10blood Just your children:DDDDDDD!

  • @10blood shut the fuck up

  • @legitimatemind He isn't eating anything. That clinking noise is the clinking of the armor. Every time the Riders move, their armor clinks, as does Theodred's. Mystery solved. ^_^

  • @legitimatemind Hahahahahahaha lol xDD

  • crappiest singing ever

  • Dios mio, gracias por subir esta escena, la estaba buscando, impresionante la cancion, muchas gracias y saludos desde España aunque no entiendas nada xD

  • Bealocwealm hafað fréone frecan forth onsended

giedd sculon singan gléomenn sorgiende on Meduselde

þæt he ma no wære his dryhtne dyrest and mæga deorost

    Bealo..

  • I think the background noise is to get past the copyright police

  • too be personal if she did a better job singing this itd be less awkward of a scene. But king theoden's eyes said it all about what he thought of her singing.

  • Lyrics for the song:

Bealocwealm hafað fréone frecan forth onsended

    giedd sculon singan gléomenn sorgiende

on Meduselde thæt he ma no wære

his dryhtne dyrest and maga deorost.

The Rohirric language is simply REPRESENTED by Old English, just as Westron is REPRESENTED by Modern English. The true Rohirric language thus is a completely different language, NOT based on Old English...

  • @kenmordeno - Yes,but what we're hearing IS Old English! Throughout the novel ,Rohirric names and language are represented by Old English. Of course,in Rohan ,the language wouldn't actually BE Old English - Rohan never existed! Anglo-Saxon England did.

No coincidence that Tolkien was a Professor of English, and a renowned scholar of Anglo-Saxon .

Waiting for someone to tell me that The Shire wasn't ACTUALLY rural England ,next!

  • @adventussaxonum If you understood my comment, then you would know that what you said was precisely what I meant...*sigh*

  • Hermosa mi amor!

  • this scene was akward...

  • 'Bealocwelm hafað fela feorhcynna forð onsended... 'Baleful death has many of my living kin sent forth...' ( Beowulf, line 2265).

Eowyn pretty much directly quotes these lines in the lament. Ergo, it is Old English. ^_^

  • wth i can hear people eating throughout the video..

  • @berserker276 they must have had refreshments at the funeral

  • That's what I mean. It's BASED OFF of old english

  • The only thing that makes sense in what you are trying to say is "I'm a crazy" because that is truly how you are coming off now. Just because you have read the book doesn't make you the oracle of all things Tolkien, and *lol* I don't doubt you're a Tolkien fan. But I wont bother repeating myself, you clearly haven't gotten a single one of my points. And oh by the way Beowulf, as in the thousand year old poem, not the fucking movie! Jeeeesus...

  • @LadyOfMithril- Tolkien modeled the language of Rohan on Old English. Theoden (Old English Þeoden) means "prince"; Eowyn means "horse joy." And Meduseld means "mead hall"

  • You need to learn how to read, I'm saying Philippa Boynes as in one of the writers of the screenplay. She says it clear as day, i actually went back and checked it, that the guy that wrote the song for the movie used old english and parts of Beowulf. Listen to it yourself. It might be eorlingas, but to call people that recognize the old english and Beowulf retards just reflects badly on you.

  • Hahaha you need to listen to the commentary of this scene, Phillipa Boynes says clearly they used old english and parts of Beowulf. So I don't understand why people vote down oooda, she is right. At least more right than you.

  • This is a part from Beowulf isn't it? It's amazing

  • @oooda No, it's The Lord of the Rings. It is in the title

  • Wow, yes I'm not retarded.. I was talking about the song she is singing. It sounds like the funeral-song from the poem Beowulf

  • This is the translation:

An evil death has set forth the noble warrior

A song shall sing sorrowing minstrels

in Meduseld that he is no more,

to his lord dearest and kinsmen most beloved.

  • wtf

  • Love this song! I don't know what most of it means though. I only know a tiny amount of Old English at the moment
