  • is that "oscillating" a typical 996/ 911 trait once the traction limit is stepped over? were your corrections too abrupt/not smooth enough? corvettes are relatively easy to drive at and over the edge, imho..

i currently track a c5 z06 and am considering a 996 c2 because of the back seat and i always wanted a p car. thanks

  • @c0c0sdad Can't compare to Vette since I've never driven one... but this was driver error on my part. I think if my first correction had been smaller & a little slower, it could have been a non-event. Certainly plenty of other times I have caught a little slide like this in a 996, Cayman, 944, e36m3, alfa, etc and never thought twice about it. Just not this time.

  • oil?

  • @rs3800

No. Not oil. According to the data, I entered the corner 5mph faster than usual (1st mistake), then when I reached the middle of the turn where the traction & camber fall away even at normal speed, I made too big of a correction when the car started it's first slide. This 2nd mistake set up an oscillation which was (for me) unstoppable. All my fault.

  • First two slides well held, good vid!
