The reason most of you are ragging on this and saying you don't know anyone that talks like this have probably never paid attention and giving much thought...actually most people don't even look at the lips when talking to people. oh and this is how you start, you don't want a auctioneer for your first tries
@Bahamute619 actually, I've never seen anyone talk like that in reality, and I'm deaf and always watch peoples lips as I can't understand them otherwise..although it doesn't help much because people don't move their mouth a lot when speaking.
I've had trouble finding lip reading help. Thanks for this initial lesson.
I will look take a look at HearingVisions1 and see if it is an affordable option for me. To the others, I'm hard of hearing and have done listening exercises that are also helping (LACE from Neurotone.) This program also recommended lip reading help. The facial movements of this lady are exaggerated, probably to start people off with the easiest exercises to avoid discouraging them. She'll work up to challenges later.
This video seemed like it was old, and from the 60's or something. Also the woman wasn't good at what ahe was doing. It was overall close to pointless to watch, I thought.
@TonixzMac You have to start off easy and then when you have the basics you progress to something harder. In this case, she is exaggerating so you can pick up the patterns. Once you know them, you practice on someone who isn't exaggerating. It's like playing a piano piece, the first time you don't try playing it at full speed.
@TonixzMac This is a beginning course. You start out by watching the words in an exaggerated way and then, as you progress, you will be able to read lips when someone is speaking normally.

@Bahamute619 I was going to say the exact same thing. noone starts with calculus, they start with learning what numbers are first.
I like the way they arranged the words: beginning middle ending. Allowed me to see the pronunciation at each spot.

You have to pay attention to every single detail with the lip and focus on the facial expressions, it's very hard but this video is good.

need to start somewhere; once you get to grips with it like this, then start on normal speech.
