bvb, it is true. And I was leaning heavily towards Obama. I had even gotten by the fact that he called for Imus to be fired in April -- and in no uncertain terms he did that. So there's going to a big reaction to this hypocrisy. But then in a way it's good, because he almost fooled me.
And now the first politician who condemned Imus for his NHH statement is defending a Pastor who GD'd America. A Church that for 20 plus years he has attended. He defended Wright's comments at the same time condemning them. Now if you take what Reverend Wright said and copared them to Imus' you will find that Imus was not guilty as charged. Obama has the I-Fans now rallying against him. Millions of us. A True Hypocrit in my opinion.
It is about recreating a badge of servitude! This country holds at its core a history of oppression of Blacks and black women especially. And who were the oppressors? Whites and particularly white men. We don't live in a time vacuum. We are a product of our history and our environment, so tread carefully.
But for all of those who believe that the Don Imus incident has been blown out of proportion because of this double standard have completely missed the issue. This issue is NOT about the black community. It is about racial and gender insensitivity. It is about oppression, by projecting a highly negative image on completely innocent and unassuming young women.
I think you're the one who's missing the issue, S. Don Imus's comments fell mostly on white, middle-aged ears, whereas hiphop lyrics fall mostly on young, very impressionable ears, generally among groups that least of all need to hear about putting down women while glorifying pimps, gangs and drugs. You're barking up a tree while the cat is right there in your back yard.
As a black female, I hate to see this posting and all of the comments. The misogyny in the hip hop community is pervasive, no one will deny this and we have to start taking accountability. Rappers must be accountable for what they say and on a personal level, I must be accountable in terms of speaking against that kind of language amongst my friends.
Rappers do not = Black People. Its sad to read people bitching about just hearing complaints from blacks. What have you done to improve or maintain morals in white and black america?
Amazing! A great picture of this entire media crap fest. And yes it was likely to cover up the lacross scandal. Liberal media wins again, the founders of America are likely rolling in their graves. NBC, ABC and CBS are full of propaganda. Thank GOD for YouTube.
i do believe the commentary was uncalled for , and i understand what everyone is trying to say how rap is wayy more obscene than what imus said, thats actually true rap should be banned so all this niggas and wannabe niggas can shut the fuck up already everyone is sick of ur shit and ur incompetent creativity where they cant come up with anything else to talk about but money in the bank and diamonds on my chain what a bunch of idiots, but back
FUNNY thing is All the people that were interviewd,
Most likely don't watch or listen to IMUS IT's only the Press that brought up this Point and made it a sensation for black activists to Salivate overAlso REMEMBER the LACROSS PLayers, yes a HOAX. Where are all the Sharptons and jesse Jackson's thats where Organizing the POT pounding Protests on DUKE Campus NOW? I don't hear an appoligy from them .THey JUmped on IMUS for ONE REASOn TO ECLIPs THE LACROSS STORY.
its funny that steve harvey can do the red neck news and make fun of white people.when are white people going to wake up and boycott his sponsers and get him fired.
Thanks for posting this. I am sick to death of all the racist sexist trash coming from blacks, and then they are ready to lynch any white person who says 'boo'. Frikkin ridiculous, and I become less and less interested in being friends with any black person day by day because of this kind of crap.
This is brilliant. It perfectly proves the points that I've been hearing made *everywhere* all week long. When is this shit going to end from black entertainment -- and who's going to fire that vile swine Al Sharpton? This whole country is fed up with this bullshit.
I think this is a good correlation video. Imus called our young ladies "nappy headed hoe" and our rapper make money calling them "hoes" and no protest or call for their jobs are made. Watch out black people we will creat a group of White Males that will began to lynch us again.

Rappers don't refer to their wives or female relatives as Hoes. They are referring to women who don't know them, and are willing to sleep with them.
