people of good taste! i get very low views and work hard on my creative videos... please check them out! be sure to watch SEEDS and SOFTLY CONFINED. and MUCH more stuff. thanks :)
This movie is great. Not only did it get a lot of attention from critics, but it's some of the most masterful stop motion ever that does great to the mood of the original novel. My sisters were scared of it, but I was entranced in the theaters, having to watch it another 5 times in the same month since. To fans of the movie, the makers are creating a new stop-motion masterpiece, ParaNorman, which is about a kid who lives in a town that is besieged by zombies. =D
I remember waiting in line for "Cofessions of a shopaholic" (Which later turned out to be one of the worst movies I had ever seen) And I managed to sneak in to the theater when this movie was playing. I DID NOT want to leave the theatre! I was hooked instantly! The world was so creative and dark and wonderful! 10000 times better than that..."other" movie...*Shudders* Coraline is an awesome book and movie!
this movie is great :). im 12 year's old, and i love it :o. the part where the green and pink girls come out the candy wrapper is the creepiest part XD.
I love horror movies and dont get scared by most of them and yet I am terrified by this! Its so scary!!! But so good--I just watched it again and loved it although I got very scared
find this film creepy think it was a bit creepy for pg cause 6 year old cousin watched it and rufed to open cuboard door in cause the other mother ( spider thing ) came out and sewed button eyes on his eyes and took him away it lasted for atleast a mouth so it was quite creepy
i was 8 when this movie came out and now im 10 lol and i didnt know dakota fanning played coralines voice lol shes amazing! i look just like her watch my videos
i first saw a poster of her walking into the door and i was like, "Hey, sis. What's this movie?" and we didn't know. I saw it and have it. Its cool, but kinda creepy for a cartoon. LOL! :)
it was in theaters on the month of my birthdy before i got a youtube account i watched videos of coraline in 2009 im 13 in 2009 i was 11 when i watched it in 3d in the theaters its my first favorite movie mad of beatufil stop motion

i cant believe that this film is a PG it is really scary i watched in my friend is house and we wanted to go downstairs to get a dring but we were to scared incase coroline is mum would be there with buttons to put in our eyes lol x
Man, this is a great film. The animation, the characters (Wybie was created for the film), the setting and atmosphere, everything! But this trailer spoils so much!
@HGS1991 Uhh... I loved the movie, but there's no real sensical way that there COULD be a sequel. And even if there was, I'm pretty sure they'd pull a Disney and fuck everything up. I want to see more movies like this, though. It seems like animators have just gone 'Fuck effort, CG that shit up!'
@demondog45 I think if they DID do a sequel it should be centered on another character- Coraline essentially reached the end of her plot arc and it would be interesting to see another character (maybe a teenager, maybe male, maybe with different desires and expectations from the new world) be given the experiences and choices Coraline is with different results. Then again it's an amazing movie and if a sequel ruined it I'd be mighty upset.
@JermzzzyFTW Well, didn't Coraline essentially close off the world forever when she threw the key down that well? I really don't think they should do a sequel. I'm afraid they'll just pull a Secret of Nimh 2 and ruin it.
I have had the coraline book since i was only 9 years old. Its been sitting on my bookshelf until i was about 13 when i got really bored and i finally decided to read it. Because of that book I suddenly got interested in reading other books.I just got the coraline collector's item doll and the movie for christmas. I now want the video game. Coraline is and will always be the best movie i have ever seen in my life. CORALINE 4 EVA
@theHTF5000 oh , but i saw those movies already , the atmosphere of these movies is waths actract me :D , thanks for replying(don,t know how to spell it)
I love this movie. It's creepy, scary and weired, but it's a great adventure, so if you liked the movie "a nightmare before Christmas!, or you like this type of movie, you'll probably love this! Thumbs up :)
okay so whats with all the ppl suddenly jumping to emo kids about these types of movies? anyone can love these movies who says its only emos?....and also anyone can be emo, cuz emo is short for emotional so when ur emotional ur emo
@buttoneyes22 what i hate is when idiots use the word emo. Its judgemental and unfair. and actually the majority of those "emo" kids HAVE seen those movies and you want to know why? because they're amazing and they're the ones who appreciate them the most.
so i happen to find your comment rude as hell because i bet you think everyone walking around with Jack on their shirts or bags have never seen it, which, believe it or not, isn't true at all. its the ppl who call themselves emo who are fake
@TheFarewell1989 I agree, the ones who call themselves emo are fake, they are the ones i'm talking about. The kind of people who have there sleeves up just to show there cuts, and listen to death metal when they actually don't like it, it's really annoying. I'm not judgmental and i'm not an idiot, i'm just sick of try-hard emo wannabe's.
@ButtonEyes22 Maybe they have their sleeves rolled up to show the cuts because they want the help and need the help that will get them to stop. It's judgemental people like you that are the reason people cut. I'm not saying there aren't posers, but who are you to say that they don't like the kind of music they listen to? you don't know that. you probably don't even know about them or what goes on in their lives.
@Frankiebug21 Seriously? Your comment makes me laugh. You don't roll your sleeves up and show people your cuts because you want help, that's pathetic. There are other, better ways to ask for help if you have problems. It's silly people like you that fall for their pathetic lies. For crying out loud, yes there are posers, and they are the freaking ones i'm taking about.
Coraline is my favorite movie, i think i love the movie better than the book because i saw it first but i still love the book a lot. What annoys me is when emo people walk around school with bags and t-shirts with Jack Skellington's face on them when they probably haven't even seen The Nightmare Before Christmas, or big Button Eyes on there bags or t-shirts when they havent even seen Coraline, that's annoying -.-
@xSpArTiChRiSx I haven't read the book, but I loved the movie, and I'm not a "fucking emo poser bitch," I just love good movies and I'm not going to apologize for it to angry butthurt youtube trolls.
oddly enough, Neil Gaiman (author of the original book) wrote it with the intentions of making it a horror story for kids. He said that in an interview once. fun fact ;)
A few years ago two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to see if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said "Get the kids and get out of the house, we'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue". The "clown statue" was actually a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this on 10 videos tonight the clown will be in your bed at 3:00am with a chainsaw in his hand. Sorry don't want this to happen to me
"Where were you coraline?" "Some aliens with laser guns captured me but I put on a wig and laughed in a forign accent" "That's great dear now how many hair pins do you need? I say 20." I love forigners!
@thepixiegirlmagic I totally agree with the movie part, but my life is more boring than coralines NORMAL life, I swear my auntie HAS got BUTTONS for eyes!!!
@stellianaGG This isn't made by Tim Burton... Tim Burton didn't direct Nightmare Before Christmas... he co-wrote and produced it... and wrote the poem.
I read the book and I honestly think the movie is better, the story goes more in-depth, in the book she pretty much just went into the other mother's world, looked around and left, and the characters are more developed, there's even a new character named Wybe or something.
Hope the director of ParaNorman will hold high the name of Laika, like it had been with Coraline. Here in Italy Coraline is going to be rated like a classic!
I love this movie and I also love the book too. The movie dosen't follow the book exactly how it was the first time but does follow it very closely. And if I ever saw people with buttons for eyes I'd be all "OH MY GOD!!! HOLY SHIT!!! THEY HAVE FUCKIN BUTTONS FOR EYES!!!"
This Movie is the reason why the lalaloopsy dolls are freaky as hell. They have buttons for eyes. Guess the beldam must really be watching little children. LOL I know that was horrible to say, but those dolls do have buttons for eyes. Freaky
@DoubleBinConnecticut my best friend never watched Coraline, this year Christmas I will give her a Lalaoopsy doll as present and then watch the movie with her. Best. Christmas. ever hehe >:D
This is a good movie to trip to.The first time I saw this,I was high as hell and it freaked the crap out of me.Trip out to this movie, its all too worth it.
The book was wonderful. Coraline was a more rounded character with the book being all about over coming fears and being strong. She didn't seem like a spoiled brat in the slightest, only that she craved a little more out of life hense her exploring habits. I'm not crazy about the movie. They make her seem like any other bratty kid wanting candy and that's not how the book showcased her. She was brighter, more intelligent and special in the book. Sorry!
i really love this movie :)

Hope the director of ParaNorman will hold high the name of Laika, like it had been with Coraline. Here in Italy Coraline is going to be rated like a classic!

This has the good qualities Tim Burton movies lack.

Freaky

@LeugimLime Maybe you should marry that thing if you love it so much. Do you want to marry it? Well I won't let you! How does that feel?

The book was wonderful. Coraline was a more rounded character with the book being all about over coming fears and being strong. She didn't seem like a spoiled brat in the slightest, only that she craved a little more out of life hense her exploring habits. I'm not crazy about the movie. They make her seem like any other bratty kid wanting candy and that's not how the book showcased her. She was brighter, more intelligent and special in the book. Sorry!

lol, I'm gonna be Coraline for Halloween ^-^ wearing the raincoat costume ;D pretty fun since my name is Carolina xD
