  • The is but one universal law You Don't Remake John Wayne Movie

  • the day we lose God, Guns, and The Duke we won't be America anymore. but I can hear his voice saying "that'll be the day."

  • @nitewolf89 aint that the truth

  • the first dvd set my mother ever gave my brother and I was a set of old John Wayne classics

  • my name is john. ever sense i heard this i watch out for caving in mines!

  • John was the best. My favorite movie of the Duke had to True Grit. Jeff Bridges couldn't match the Duke in that movie and the academy proved that. R.I.P Big John!

  • DUKE your my HERO rip

  • the duke was one of the best actors in the world

  • very good tribute - no matter how old you are - whenever you watch any movie of his you think (i think) thats how old he is & he still here - he will live forever

  • a WONDERFULNESS collage of a great song and a wonderful actor, thank u

  • my cat is named Duke and my German Shepherd is named Hondo. All in honor of Duke.

  • The Duke !!

  • This is actually a song by jimmy dean

  • What disrespectful punks dislikes this?

  • Awesome Tribute Video....REALLY LOVED IT ! ! ! !

  • what can be said ?????? the DUKE WAS THE SH!T AND THATS THERES ALL TO IT...........

  • Well done - simply great - thanks!

  • John Wayne was a patriot at heart, his wife talked about how he regreted not joining up during World War II. He did a whole lot of things for this country. God bless John Wayne

  • as a fan of john wayne forever that was the best tribute i seen so far

  • Oh - folks - help me- BIG BAD JOHN - I only knew him as a miner - and now ??

"They never reopened that worthless pit ........marble stand ...

  • the movie at 0:50 is North to Alaska

  • Hmmmm . . . in the remake of "True Grit" they have "The Big Lebowski" playing "Rooster Cogburn" . . . I don't know about that. Then again, I wouldn't have wanted to hear The Duke singing in "Crazy Heart" either.

  • What, no clips from "The Conqueror"? "Truly this man was the son of God!" "Cut! Duke, try it with more awe in your voice, OK? Action!" "Awwww truly this man was the son of God!" (famous and likely apocryphal line, allegedly from outtakes of "The Conqueror")

  • Hail to the Duke!

  • This is so old. I remember hearing this tune when I was about 7 years old, many years ago

  • Brilliant editing and sound. His old films now on DVD have hit Aus - some are a hoot, but all have the underlying theme of his credo. Well done TheFantaC-Graham Melb Aus

  • what movie is that at 0:50

  • America needs God fearing men with TRUE GRIT like John Wayne - not spider fearing snag's wearing perfume PRETENDING to be cowboys - what a pitiful sight they are!!

  • big bad john rulessssssss..........i love him

  • damn! that guy isnt affraid at all! ca y fait po peur

  • I cant believe they are remaking a John Wayne movie, you know True grit, it pisses me off.

  • He was one of the greatest Americas that ever lived!!!

  • will somebody pleez post Jimmy Deans version of Put On Ur Old Grey Bonnet...have to have it...

    Thanku, lol...

    L.

  • Finally somebody that didn't sacrifice the integrity of John Wayne or a great song just to try and get their face on the web. Thank for not sucking.

  • It sounds to me that hip hop wasn't invented in the bronx in the late 70s, Jimmy Dean invented it 15 years earlier with Big John! Minus the music of course, but the lyrics and style is totally hip hop! Props to JD. R.I.P.

  • Karen Hull for u

  • ALWAYS THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That was a pritty cool version of the song. Thanks for posting it.

  • Excellent memorial to the Duke. He helped me to define what a man should and shouldn't be. A hero to many even though he had his faults as mere mortal...

  • Sad thing about John Waynes death, after he died there wasn't and still isn't a cowboy who can fill his boots and there may never be one that can! R.I.P. Duke you are the best and always will be!

  • I remember being like six and seeing Big Jake and wanting to be like John Wayne. I'm 19 now and still kind of wish I was John Wayne.

  • Legend is, just one drop of his sweat hit the ground and mutated into something. We refer to that one small drop as, Chuck Norris.

  • Not the real song, this is an edited version.

  • @MrGamerGlitcher

Jeez... no kidding! It wasn't easy... but it worked! His family loved it at the Golden Boot Awards!

  • @MrGamerGlitcher well not just an edit : Not the sonorous voice of Jimmie Dean but it would have cost a bunch to get to get him

  • @MrGamerGlitcher

    The idea is Very good

    negaive comment is so easy

  • AND! He was in a coal miner movie with Marlene Dietrich and Gary Cooper. It was called Pittsburgh. Barry Sullivan gives a touching speech on Coal and what a blessing it was to Western Pa.

  • long live the duke........

  • When I was about 11y/o I was in a grocery store in Newport Beach called Richard's Market. He was standing at the end of an isle and I must say, he was one BIG, ornery looking guy. I am not an autograph hound, so I just looked at him in awe. Wish I had said something to him. He was and is a National Treasure.

  • We need a president like "Big" John Wayne. Nobody would mess with the US.

  • @Banjomountain

he was asked to run for president against john f kenedy but he turned it down

  • real hollywood star!!!

  • I like Wayne.s on Big bad John, of couse Jimmy dean is still my favorite . since high school 1964. I have several .copies.

  • CHRISTMAS WITH THE DUKE HERE

  • all am going to say is

    WHAT A MAN

R.IP. THE DUKE WE MISS U

  • great video. there is one minor nitpick though. in the part of the song where it talks about "a crashing blow from his right hand" it shows him throwing a left-handed punch. i know it doesn't really matter, but i still had to point that out.

  • Great tribute for a great American

  • Great work, TheFantaC! You just can't go wrong with a real man - a man like "Big John". And I agree with gitrdoneon31s. If John was still alive he could show these damned stupid politicians how to REALLY fix the ills of our country. Damn, I miss him!

  • @MrTommy001 WAY TO GO PILGRIM

  • awesome JOHN WAYNE was and still is a staple in household!!! thanks for the tribute.

  • one of my heros

  • The Duke knock a hippie out for burning the American flag. Now thats a man

  • Sorry to clue you in but

    It's all make believe

  • that's right the duke showed em all =} if he was still alive he would fix this country

  • Savage!!!!!

  • lollolol

  • Yep, there's the duke, Mr.All America, my hero throughout my youth, ...make a promise, keep a promise... .

  • Big John gave me as a young boy some to look up to. To always do what was right even when it hurt. And when it came time to stand up for what you beleive in, you stand up. He gave me the true meaning of a real Lawman. A True American Duke I will always miss you, but I have your movies..Lord bless.

  • nice job

  • Yes thank you GREAT Tribute.

The Duke was a great man and one that I also looked up to. He was the Hero of many.

  • Wow, what a great job on this video. A great tribute to a true American Folk Hero.

  • My favorite is that final shot from The Searchers.

  • Awesome...great work mixing!

  • I so laughed about places changed in this one differently as in the original! :D original - and everybody knew it was the end of the line for big john - here and everybody knew they've breathed their last thanks to big John

  • What a fabulous tribute to a truly great great man and actor. Thank you so very much for taking the time to make this and to post it.

  • I'm 57 years old, I fought one war, raised two sons and made my own way through life.

Everything I ever needed to know in life I learned watching John Wayne movies.

He was my Dad's hero as well and the old man was still 17 when he jumped into Normandy.

  • @RightWingKiller 55 yo, chewed-up and spat out by the cold war and dont regret it one bit.

Big John was somebody I looked up to; The man and the image.

Thank you rightwingK; Its good to know I am not alone.

  • also at 1:18 he looked like a tank.

  • why not he looks nice

  • I absolutely love it, its the greatest thing Ive ever seen,,Thanks for posting..

  • My oldest brother had an authentic autographed picture sent to him from John Wayne. He had it pinned to his wall and one day I was mad at him and stuck a knife through the wall and through that picture, and boy did he kick my ass!!! I sure as hell deserved it!!

  • my great grandpa had mad this song.

  • @monahack Now if you apoligize for that, like I know you're going to, I might convince Clint that you didn't mean it.

  • @monahack john wayne is my hero if he isnt urs then go to hell

  • dude 1 that is mining picks in the background and 2 john Wayne is not a miner but still no disrespect but i liked the mining version better

  • john wayne-the best actor that ever lived damn good man and actor. died of cancer he was a tough man.

  • Marion Michael Morrison (John Wayne) did his best moralizing in The Alamo 1960 because as the outgunned hero he knew death was impending. He financed that film from his own pocket and nearly went broke, but it was a big success and he rebounded. He once said "I licked the Big C" meaning cancer. But the "Big D" came. Best music was in The Alamo, The Comancheros and above all El Dorado.

  • No hay nadie que te haga sombra.

  • love the gun scens

  • I love John Wayne!! He's my hero!! Loved the video!!

  • rock on dude

  • hell ya it rocks

  • to virago1776-we need examples of entertainment like john wayne;jim brown; randolph scott; joel mrcrea;jim arness;sean connery;richard widmark;victor mature...etc. todays actors comes nowhere near these macho men--i mean --the best we can do is little sneering mark wahlberg?pathetic. people rent movies--do internet--and they wanna see some young actors be macho like wayne was!

  • Big Bad John.

  • OH yeah...John WAS the example to all men back in those times.

  • I think I like Jimmy Deans' Big Bad John more.

  • John Wayne isnt just an American Icon but a icon to all the mans man.

Seriously who doesnt love John Wayne ?

  • Lots of communist, especially in the United States. Those communists worship actors like George Clooney and film makers like Michael Moore, that hate the United States and what it stood for. It doesn't stand for anything, anymore. It sits down and takes it. Shame.

  • george clooney and micheal moore are wimps--they arent men--they are pussies

  • Right on!

  • if john wayne saw the actors now days he would go on a rampage

  • i have this one

if you want to listen to it

    just copy and paste

    Big Bad Johnson Richard Bowden

  • dont fuck with john wayne

  • Fantac that was awesome. I've always been a huge John Wayne fan and this really was fitting. Thanks, bubba.

  • eeeeeee felixooo jajajajajaajajajaaja

  • More guts than any half wit liberal. You can always whine about some real man. But that's typical penis envy of socialists isn't it?

His philkosophy is what really pisses you off isn't it. Go on, admit it.

A man who respects his country, believes in self achievement and God. Sounds like the best to me. Not some beltway pansy with the nous of a cabbage.

  • The thirties and forties had a lot of real men in the movies. John Wayne was top of the tree.

Much more of a man than the wussies we have now.

  • this is a tribute to joh wane

not a place for you to discuss your openions on Vietnam or the great USA

  • John Wayne was a good actor and his acting encourage people to love this country. We may have problems but we have the freedom to work them out.

  • *sigh* He is my hero all the way. He was SUCH a hottie when he was young. :D Why aren't there anymore guys around like Big Bad John??? :*(

  • this was my dads song miss you dad love rip

  • Well, I can tell 'ya he tried very hard to enter WW2, but due to his height, bad feet, etc. the Army suggested he instead remain in the movies and help to swell the nations patriotism on the screen. Which he did with fervor. Yes he comes across as, just too good, to be true, but he really was. He believed in equal rights, and a strong nation which sometimes put off more liberal people. A very religious man also alienated some, but ehh can't please 'em all. He was a rock for us all in dark times.

  • Audie Murphy was sixteen when he lied about his age and enlisted in the Army at only 5 feet, five inches.

The Army didn't want to let him fight but he insisted.

James Stewart had to try more than once to pass tests for flight school and flew combat missions as did Glenn Ford.

Clark Gable flew as a tail gunner on missions.

They, like many other entertainers risked both their lives and careers to fight for their country.

The myths around Wayne and his lack of service do not wash.

  • Man All these people tryin to rip on the duke its sad its as if there terriost.

Hes a real man what I've always been told a real man is. Not who you see in hollywood these days or hell even the streets. Men arent as tough as they once were. I hope to change that.

  • He was my hero! He was what I'd like to see more of. Real men. Not candy ass, drug using, pretty boys. Men who can handle life. Men who know what life is about without whining about it. Not afraid of physical work.

  • I loved the Duke as an actor,he was on screen what most men would like to be in real life,Whatever the Duke was in his private life is no ones business.. The late great Audie Murphy was a hero both on screen and in real combat being one of the most decorated soldiers in world war 2,he recieved the medal of honor,USAs highest medal for valor plus medals for valor from France and Belgium, this man was truely a hero and what Ive written doesnt begin to describe how great he was and what he did..

  • No, he didn't dodge the draft. Didn't serve but didn't dodge a draft. Get your facts straight. At least the man portrayed our soldiers as hero's in movies, unlike half of the tick turds making movies these days.

  • "No, he didn't dodge the draft."

Unlike so many of his contemporaries in Hollywood and unlike so many sports stars and others in entertainment he sought and received a deferment citing a need to take care of his children.

He seldom dealt with his children in fact.

During Vietnam he had the arrogance to refer to those who refused to serve as cowards and traitors.

He was not a hero, he was an actor and the same folks who believe he was a great American seldom even know who Audie Murphy was.

  • Audie Murphy was a hero. John Wayne was no hero, he was an actor. Of course your ignorance shows when you say he referred to Vietnam soldiers as "cowards and traitors". Quite simply you're full of crap. Hell, the VFW awarded him with the National Americanism Gold Medal and Congress awarded him the Gold medal too.
