  • I'm just going to say what I feel about this in the simplest way possible.

    THIS IS AMAZING!

  • These cartoons are bursting with originalty and endless imagination. something today's cartoons lack with the CG graphics :( this has such elegance

  • fabulous...great!!!

  • caramelldanssen O.o

  • @7y54 Yeah I laughed. Fuinny

  • Suicide mouse:p

  • I can't stand the modern sanitized Mickey mouse from 1968 to now.

He more of a bad ass in his early days.

  • Love how they show the johnny house with the big house at :23 and the

"Thunder Jug" at 1:10, (what people used at night before there were

    indoor bathrooms).

The outdoor toilet shed was also common in the U.S. in those days.

Now THIS is the REAL cartoon Mickey Mouse!

  • Not that it's a huge deal anyway, but contrary to the comment you see by zombiebowie, this is NOT the first cartoon that featured a talking Mickey Mouse. "The Karnival Kid" released earlier in 1929 (July) introduces a talking Mickey.

By the way, I appreciate the upload! I love the older Disney shorts, and it's fun to see Mickey evolve! Thanks for posting! =)

  • This Mickey Mouse Cartoon is funny, crazy and classic from Public Domain.

  • 3:21 death invented the caramelldansen XDDD

  • this was use as a portal in epic mickey and i can't believe they show ghoul in old day

  • if u like the skeleton dance thumbs up

  • What does he say at 1:49??

  • @Verdis80 He says mammy.

  • @vanshma "Mammy" was a famous vaudeville routine of the day performed by

Al Jolson, a white Jewish man, with his face blacked with shoe polish so he

looked like a negro. He left white skin around his lips and eyes, exaggerating

the effect, and sang the song in a voice he thought sounded like a southern

black man. If the act was performed in the U.S. today, a certain race of folks

could very well BURN DOWN THE THEATER.

  • @GooglFascists Minstrel show?

  • @Verdis80 I was wondering that, too. I think he says "Minnie!"... though why he would say it in this episode is beyond me. It could also be "Mommy!"

  • This cartoon is much funnier than the shits that are now on TV

  • 3:20 - 3:40

    CARAMELLDANSEN FTW!!!!

  • You seriously made my horrible day so much better when I found this video!!

  • @hiihiipuffiiamiiumii Not really. Suicide Mouse is f*ckin scary!

  • ahahahahah PLAY !!!!!

  • this one is my favorite because of the skeleton

  • I remember seeing this video as part of a full-length VHS as a child. Anyone remember the name of the movie? It was all halloween based.

  • @fkyaLYFE it was called scary tales

  • @fkyaLYFE It was a compilation of scary Disney cartoons called 'Scary Tales'. It was great. Watched it loads as a kid. Included The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, which was fricking terrifying!!

  • Imagine that cartoon in 3d

  • I have been looking for this forever! I remember seeing it as a kid and being addicted to it!

  • is it just me?...or is the clock and death doin' the carameldansen? OIIIIO;

  • @wajinBoy THEY ARE!!

  • Mickey Mouse was way cooler then than he's now.

  • The skeletons in this aer nice but in the mad doctor episode the skelotons were evvil

  • never knew they even had cartoons back in 1929! talk about a blast from the past

  • Those dancing skeletons at 5:30 were seen in another cartoon... What was it called again?

  • @Rubberman202 Grim's Adventure of Billy and Mandy?

    They had it. .3.

  • whoa, awkward black-face reference 1:50

  • Pretty scary stuff for way back then! LOL I love love love the old cartoons. So much better than today's stuff.

  • AT 5:44 SPONGE BOB COPED IT IN THE MINI SQUIDERED EPISODES

  • i wish they were still like this

  • ringin some bells

  • demonic filth

  • omg this is so old my granddaddy was only 3 years old and my grandma was not even born and now my g-daddy is 84 and my g-ma is 79 lol weird

  • This was the first cartoon that featured a talking Mickey Mouse.

  • @zombiebowie Wow!, good info, Thanks.

  • @vriosm actually it was carnival kid 1929 the first time he talked

  • @vriosm Where does one find these? I want more!

  • @zombiebowie - I thought "The Karnival Kid" held the first instance of a talking Mickey Mouse...

  • @zombiebowie Karnival kid has the 1st spoken words...not this 1...

  • @zombiebowie Actually, it was "The Karnival Kid", released approximately four months prior. On the flipside, this is a Mickey we can recognize, whereas the voice of Mickey in Karnival Kid was deeper and completely different.

  • @zombiebowie Actually, that honor goes to "The Karnival Kid".

  • @zombiebowie No i don't think this one was,i think it was The Karnival Kid where he said the words "Hot Dog" and it became his catchphrase

  • PLAY!

  • @vriosm: Where do you get that this was released in August, 1929? Wikipedia says it wasn't even first shown until Dec. 2, 1929.

  • @msu2k9 Thanks for the observation, already I did the correction.

  • I actually got this one, and a few others on a dvd collection. Absolutely LOVED this Mickey cartoon.

  • @horrorm0nez were did you get it please tell me

  • @mdgkiller114 You can find this and another Old Mickey Mouse cartoon on a DVD "Walt Disney Treasures - Mickey Mouse in Black and White, Volume One and Two".

  • I used to watch it when i was little too.

  • used to watch this bad boy every halloween :D love it!

  • I don't know why, but old black and white cartoons always make me feel cozy!

  • I loved this cartoon when I was littler. <3

  • @RaindanceSunshine so your 80 years old hah?

  • This is a Halloween classic. I still crack up when I see the dancing skeletons do that mopey body-twist!

  • I remember it all so well. The storm, the dancing skeletons, the hooded freak. Man...I oughta remake old Mickey Mouse cartoons somehow.

  • Lol, he cried for his mama

  • Cartoons were so much cooler when they were black and white!

  • tell me about it. i may be only 13 but i'd pick this over whatever cartoons they show today anytime.

  • @cupcakebun agree
