@i4yue depends on the range of the target, the length of the barrel and the choke and the powder load. A light field load powder charge in a short barrel shutgun with zero choke (like mine) would just piss someone off past about 30 feet. If that someone was wearing heavy clothing, leather jacket, etc it might not even slow them down. However a full load in a high brass hull from a 28" Remchoke would be a different story. I think it would penetrate flesh if not the tissue beneath at 30 feet.
