OMG!, won this Harley Davidson as prize but I'm a girl who don't ride I need to get rid of it...we're moving out of Country. Click my channel for contact
i did a stand up wheelie on my harley sportster 883 bored to 1240 :) as i slid across the asphalt i couldnt help the first thought that came to my mind...that was absolutely badass!! haha
I got rid of my Harley after 3 months after part exchanging it for my beloved (please come back!) Triumph America. The Harley is a piece of crap in comparison. I've ridden 27 bikes over the years, this was my BIGGEST mistake.
I have the Nightster 1200 - need the extra horses on the highway when there are other vehicles to pass in a tight spot - I changed my shocks because the stock ones look "cool" but are garbage. So many people buy these and sell them only because the shocks suck - once changed to Progressive or Ohlins or other shocks, the bike is quite fun to ride.
Hey bud -how is it going with ur IRON? - put my vance and hines on it but did not do the air intake and tune - they later checked it again and told me its running too lean - so I guess I need to do the whole thing - markus
I have an 883 also , but did the 1200 conversion, it had plenty of towing power before I converted it. Now it's just crazy power, the passenger really has to hold on if a nail it.
These are great bikes and are not "starter bikes". Are Triumph's and Norton's and everything else under 1000cc's a starter bike? If you like it, ride it. By the way the sportster is the longest continually produced motorcycle in harley history. Over 50 years. Enjoy it and ride safe.
I'm 6' 1'' and was wondering would I be awkward on the 883. Never owned a bike before and was looking forward to get one in the next year to ride with all my friends. Also another question of power all my freinds have crotch rockets and I'm wondering if I'll atleast be able to keep up with their normal driving. Does anyone know hp rating or 1/4 mile times having problems locating. And is this a good starter bike??
One of the best starter bikes. But at the same time one of the best to add to the collection. I have it, and it is simply amazing. You get what you expect from a Harley. It's got enough power to keep up with your boys on the *cough* croch rockets. = fail. In the long run, its a smaller - framed bike, with a powerhouse engine. I'm 6' 2", I'm quite fine on it. I highly recommend it. It was my first bike also, now I own two, this and a Harley "Sweet Bob" Dyna.
same for me to, low price (compared to the cars i usually shop for) and amazing looks/sound. its everything you can look for in a true american cruiser
fuck no man.. youll be a giant on it and youll look really funny.. start off with a dyna.. dont be scared of the bike.. get what u want FIRST.. if u get an 883 youll out grow it in a week and youll lose a bunch of money trading it in
i went with that philosophy and got myself a road star first. 25k miles and many road trips later, 1700 cc is fine for long trips, but i recently bought a used sportster. just can't beat the light weight and the fun of it. plus, it's fun to monkey with a carbed bike.
I'm 6'1" 245 pounds and I have the 2007 883, and the 2008 Fatboy. The 883 works just fine for me, and I perfer it to the Fatboy when I'm by myself riding in town. The power is just fine, it won't have the performace of a rice burner but it's all the power you need to get yourself into trouble. Don't worry about 1/4 mile times or top speed. It's a good starter bike and a great all around performer. I have 20 years riding ep and I love mine. It's not great for two people, but it's great solo bike.
ya it is a good starter bike and you should have no problem riding this and keeping up with them. my friend has one of these and he loves it, they perform great and sound great too. if anything, you'll be smoking your friends' crotch rockets. haha
The 883 has plenty of power, it can easily hang with the BT's and w.e else you throw at it. Sportsters are the Second fastest harley (V-Rod beating them out for first). you can do a 1250 conversion on the 883 for anywhere from 700-1200 bucks.
is this in Bradford?
