@minervaaJane Hi, i'm pretty sure that they met by accident. Basically Kanou's life went down hill and he was slumped outside in the rain with no jacket. Ayase just happen to see him in passing and gave him his umbrella. Which in turn gave Kanou a kick up the ass to sort out his life out, now Kanou owes his life to Ayase and somewhere along the line Kanou's gratefulness turned into love. Ayase doesn't remember it because it was of no significance to him it was just an act of kindness. ^_^

@r05abelle yeah so i read the manga like 7 months ago right after i watched the ovas (this is like my 20th time watching the ovas) but there's only like 30+ chapters and the mangaka still hasn't revealed anything...i think though that the event 3 yrs ago, when they met, was the time when kanou-san's dad died. i don't know, i hope that we do find out some day.
