This is one of my favorite sections of interstate highway ever! A close 2nd to this is the Virgin River Gorge on I-15 in Arizona, transitioning the highway from desert to mountains!
Fora person like me who lives in a 3rd world country, Heaven means living a life in a place like this!!!wondering what does heaven mean to somebody who lives in a developed country like this!!!!!!!!
l like that part of I - 70. Nice scenery. It is not a regular highway. I like how they have one side of the interstate above another like you are on a bridge. I -70 connects I -15 in Cove Fort, Utah and I - 695 in western Baltimore, Maryland.
I drove through Glenwood Canyon in 2005, I've been all over the US and have to say that is the most scenic, impressive, and amzing piece of interstate highway I've ever driven on, simply unforgettable. Looking forward to seeing more videos in the American West.
That's a beautiful drive! I drove that road one time Denver to L.A. in the big truck back in '97 and it's fantastic to re-live that time with this video....thanks so much for making this!!!
@freedybox because traffic is very low, and in order to make a time efficient travel time, with many straight roadways for many miles, it is logical to have the speed limit this high in the american desolate southwest. 75mph in CO, UT, NV, NM,TX is very common.
Amazing video and great information in this one. I'm going to have to feature this on my Facebook fan page. Told ya your version would turn out a lot better than mine, which is why I didn't even bother editing my video. I'm going to share this with some of my own friends, too. Going on the favorites list, thanks a lot for your hard work and effort, covering one of the great civil engineering achievements in the US!
I'm very impressed Click. I'm a AAA Auto Travel Route Specialist making triptiks and drawing out maps everywhere around North America. I had no idea what this part of I-70 looked like. Our members are gonna be very pleased to drive this. Keep makin' em!!
@mfastx if you are talking about in hanging lake tunnel, 3:20, that is a signal saying that lane is open for traffic flow, it can be marked X to designate closed. there is also stop lights at the beginning on the tunnel which are only activated in winter times due to ice conditions, or other dangers, traffic issues.
This is AMAZING. The canyon, the river by the hwy, the shadows...just amazing.Oh and PINE TREES!!!! I have such a weakness for pine trees. Sweet a tunnel...man I love this vid. I have to get my butt over there and drive this for myself!!Whoo hoo ANOTHER tunnel!!3:54 Man thats amazing! 5:12 so neat how the hwy shelves off the side of that canyon wall.I must "experience the scenic view" of this place. Great vid!! Thanks for sharing it with us!
This highway is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. And it's about damn time Interstate 70 got some respect! Killed in Baltimore (though it did get that NICE four-level stack), Pennsylvania's painfully below Interstate standard, plus Breezewood, a tunnel in West Virginia has only one lane on each side... and then this. Is amazing. Just damn.
That was just beautiful ! Amazing infrastructures, great engineering ! I hope that you will show us more highways, and roads from Colorado ! Thanks for the ride ,man !
Hell of a video man! Thanks for taking the effort to show us this. You did some damn fine work capturing the greatest section of interstate there is. I cant wait to get out there one of these days.
What a profoundly beautiful road. And such an incredible engineering effort -- made obvious multiple times, when the oncoming roadway totally disappears from view.
I'll bet the turnouts see a lot of use. I can't imagine driving through here without stopping to catch my breath!
Your best video to date man! I would probably have to get someone to drive me through the first time since I would probably want to take in all the surroundings!
definitely one place i want to visit before i die no doubt about it.

I-70 through Glenwood Canyon is definately the way to go when driving across the US. It's certainly a bit more scenic than the NJ Turnpike....
