UGHHHHHHH how can these people still hold these ridiculously simplistic "anti-tax" views and arguments about how taxing rich people will somehow hurt small businesses.
It is simply not true. Grow up Senator Collins. Take a look at the facts. Taxing the rich does NOT hurt employment, we have known that for YEARS.
what i cant beleive is the fact that many people and companies are crippled by having to pay high health care insurance payments. this is crippling our ecomomy and how many jobs are created! the wealthy do not need more money... lets stop profit for health care ceos and channel this money paid by industry into hiring more people?
so tired of the rich being so revered while the poor pay and the middle class show up and work for less while all around us everything is costing more
I listened... she does not seem to know the difference between income and taxable income. She talks about companies needing to purchase company vehicles but not having the money to do it. How would that put them in the top 2%? She talks about companies not taking in enough to pay employee wages. She talks about not having money to invest in inventory of items for sale. All of these are allowable deductions from income before the income becomes TAXABLE income.
We need to check back with her in six months -- demand accountability and proof that jobs have significantly increased. Do not forget this moment because the issue of extending tax cuts to the rich will be coming up again in a few more years. Between now and then we need to DEMAND that they track job creation associated with these tax cuts and it better last beyond a few months!!!
She does not seem to know the difference between TAXABLE income vs. income.. The fact that the tax cuts have been in effect for 10 years without creating jobs tells her what? She seems completely out of touch with the fact that sports figures, entertainers, and even celebrities on the family payroll are in the top 2% and earn millions in taxable wages. A resident of Maine she just lost my vote !!
