@Christensen1993 there will be open areas, but the "main stages" if you will are in the cathedrals/dungeons. although there are open nature areas, it would still be dark.

Runestonrs in Diablo 3 are SHIT! PGs in D2 have almost same function. Runes in D2 have many combinations 'rune words' and you can combine them with PGs and jewels in any matter you want!

Just a Math combinatorical thought: If we consider 1 skill+1 runestone= 1 new skill.

for each class: approx 30 skills over 6 skill choices = 593 775 skill combinations

for each setup: 6 skills*5runestones = 30 combinations/skillsetup

in total: 30 skill combos*593 775 skill-combinations = 17 813 250 skill setups per class.

So saying Diabo III being monotonically, is not even an argument..

@Jackman363 There seem to actually be 22 active skills per character, with 12 passive skills. Also, they have changed to 6 active and 3 passive skill slots. This gives 22 C 6 * 12 C 3 * 5^6 (there are 5 runes you can choose for each of the 6 skills within each build, so you actually have 5^6 skills per "skill setup"). This is per character class. Gives you 256482187500, or 256 billion-ish. Pretty nuts.

Like if I find a crimson rune lv 7 is that it for the crimson runes? or is it similar to D2's runes where there might be a crimson rune that gives additional mana or health and a crimson rune that will give defense or etc?

@DrakeSaint Well if they do the new rune system talked about at the fan thing it'll be a bit of both. Runes can indeed change skills entirely or add 'gimmicks' to them, but it seems they want to also give them a socket bonus when you use a rune - which would be a random stat like normal items have such as +X to Strength.

Runes should always add/change abilities though, and in relatively large ways without being so straightforward as just more damage.

I am just wondering. 1 minut in to the video, it shows the skills, that have been enchanted with runes. Now here is my question. why is 3 of them marked 2? My first thought was quickslot, but it could also be rune lvl.. does anyone know what those numbers mean?

@0noink Ei Charsi... pay attention to the vid, you will see the first two skills are marked 5, the next one is 3 & like you said, the last three is marked 2.

Those markings are the lvl of the skills.

Now, watch the video till the end & pay attention to the image of the runestones from lvl 1 to 7. Look closely & you will see notches on the side of the runes w/c marks their lvl.

FYI, you will only get up to lvl 3 rune when playing Normal mode.

Runes lvl 4 & 5 playing Nightmare & lvl 6 & 7 in Hell
