I am running into an error with redsnow. I do the power / home button as I am supposed to but as it starts to load and run it gives me an error and then doesn't continue. To fix the 'gTimeout(): Error, no successful firmware downloaded after 60000 ms! Giving up....' Error all you have to do is turn your phone off properly first before going into DFU mode, rather than skipping than power down step. Worked for me and hopefully it works for all of you experiencing this error. :)

DONE!!! :D Finally!! i just restore my iphone again with the custom IPSW, jailbroke it just installing cydia, then install redsnow, then REBOOT your phone, insert sim card, then use redsnow to reinstall the ipad baseband (do not select install cydia again), then see the magic happen!!

Hey what part of this process wont work if you are 135+ cause i thought i am below 135 but i did it adn found out im above 135 and it still worked but when i try to install ultrasn0w it wont let me it says NOTE: the requested modifications cannot be applied due to required dependencies or conflicts that cannot be fixed automaticly. help!!!!! my other phone i also jailbreak its also above 135 i unloked it adn jail broke it fine whats wrong wiht this one

Thanks for the vid bro! I got a little scared when the jailbreak finished and the 3GS got stuck on the apple logo for a while.. After a few DFU reboot tries, the iPhone finally turned on with Cydia installed :) Everything worked fine in the end...

@angcru Yeah man, the exact same thing happened to me! I wouldnt worry to much about that error. after I got that error, I put in a t-mobile sim card and rebooted the phone a couple times, it said "searching..." for the longest time, then all of the sudden it said "T-mobile" with full bars! I couldnt believe it!!  I cant explain exactly what happened but if your firmware is 06.15.00 and you have installed ultrasnow you're still in good shape.

Thanks so much it worked! For People getting an Error where it says "it's giving up", What I did was just turned off my phone, and reboot again. I then popped in my Sim (T-Mobile) and it worked. Another problem that I ran into was that my service was going in and out. For that you just have to make sure that your "Location Services" is turned off, and that should fix the problem. Hope that helps.
