  • love this movie wery much, remember me on nice time :)

  • I have been looking for the movie for a long time.

Because I heard some comments about the movie.

It's a surprise for me that it's on the youtube.

But it's hard for me to understand the foreign languages without subtitle.

  • Ich könnte schwören, die Frau, die am Anfang mit ihrem Mann streitet, ist die selbe, die auch in dieser Generali-Werbung mitspielt ... mit der Tochter und dem neuen Nachbarn ...

  • <3 I love this movie.

  • this is what i dream about...to have that connection with someone must be magical.

  • Thanks, this has been added to our playlists on facebook, and here, :)

  • They are such good actors.

  • I love this movie so much.. is the sequel up anywhere on youtube? I haven't been able to find it

  • Those clothes are so 90s.

  • ive seen before sunset on cable a bunch of times.. never knew there was this movie... makes my day a little better now *watches*

  • either idiots or uninterested people would get bored by this unique film. gonna watch this again after my exams

  • @s2p3r hahaha so true. Now that you said that I MUST sit through the whole thing. Def not as boring as star wars was for me when I watched it 10, 15 years ago lmao when I was like 6

  • Booooriiiing

  • what are they reading?

  • Deepest Romantic Ever !

  • what is the very first song?

  • @primaluce88 thank you! i watched this movie twice, i finally know what they meant!

  • @sexy74223 welll I wont argue on reality or fiction, danger or safety, just that it's life and it just throws up different options, ppl, place & character all different parameters; it's a person's character how to act/react

  • @primaluce88 thak you thank you so muchhh.. I always wondered what was the argument about :)

hopefully my translator works well : "Mein lieber Freund, ich danke Ihnen sehr."

  • one of the best love movies ever made!!

  • 17 thought "Twilight" was a better movie...

  • Gotta love this movie... So passionate, creative and intelligent... I miss the 90's. Thank you, Mr. Linklater!

  • I love you Céline a.k.a. Julie

  • I love this movie. It is so simple. The conversation between these two strangers in so realistic. I mean.. Who wouldn't go chill with someone they just met? Ok.. A little dangerous, but that would be a very thrillingly spontaneous thing to do. I honestly am so introverted I wouldn't have gone to the other cart...

  • @gubegirl yes, I can understand, sometimes life throws up opportunities, but we fell to see and act on them, part of life

  • This movie is the story of my life.

  • @alyssaholden hopefuly the sequel is not, I hope you both met on the said date and lived happilly ever after.. :)

  • @sexy74223 well, there are a LOT of solo female travelers in Europe, especially in wester Europe. In many places they will get quite some attention from guys looking just for sex. But if you have enough character to skip this guys, you will also meet nice people, especially in the hostels. Better tough to travel with a friend of yours, it takes character to travel by yourself. And how do you call this "not a reality" ?

  • i so love the movie

it makes me feel the feeling of being loved

    great! awesome :D

  • My favourite movie. Ever.

  • I desperetaly want to travel europe bymyself, I have enough money and confidence. the only problem is my father wont let me! I dont even need his money! gee is it really dangerous to to it by my self? I am a 24 year old girl by the way I am not a damn teenager

  • @giladigital

Hey u r totally responsable 4 ur own life! Im sure ur father wants u be happy. so if u really feel u have to do it.. just go! even if he doesnt notice it now u r going to do something that is good 4 him 2 since he wants u be happy.. u know? im 19.. and traveled through bolivia, peru n argentina bymyself.. and it was not dangerous.. really.. now in two weeks im going to europe.. if you need some advice talk to me! n remember that we only live once.. listen to yourself n be brave! :)

  • @giladigital Europe is not that dangerous.. not even eastern europe (a lot of people think it's creepy but it's beautiful)

  • what fucking train are they taking im trying to get one from london to vienna gah

  • Nunca estuvo subtitulada. La quiero ver y no se donde......La quiero en Español.

  • I saw "before sunset" I had no idea there was another first movie, but I loved the second movie, it made me wish I had that much to talk about, I'm the type of person that goes blank when nervous.

  • the sequel is called "Before Sunset"

  • is there any part two of this movie...if yes whats the title

  • I thought this was the most depressing 'love' story I've ever seen.

Seen a lot of movies since then but I think it still is. To be that cold is just frightening. (to me anyway)

  • lol i thought I had luck because i thought the film is in german because of the beginning :=)

  • Julie Delpy is mesmerizing in both films.

  • Fjords in New Zealand?

  • a Like from Hungary!

  • I love this movie!!

  • This is my favorite romance of all time...

  • melancholic but beautiful love story

  • What are you talking about New Zealand? The country in this film is Austria, the capital Vienna.

  • haha.. I know what they were arguing about... xD it's fun to know languages sometimes ;)

  • 13 people have never fell in love.

  • you 13 people are wrong. this is a great movie

  • thank you for your video of the opening scenes-I have never seen these-one of my favorite movies-tremendous chemistry between Ethan Hawke and Julie or Julia Delphy-nice Christmas present-intelligent as well as romantic and visually stunning scenery-

  • I liked the great dialogue in this film

  • @violetrosevvv me too

  • what's the name of the song playing at the beginning?

  • I am only seeing the Before Sunrise, saw Before sunset at least 6 times i'm sure lol.

  • Have any of you seen Before Sunset" and, what did you guys thought at the end?

  • @panoz360 . It was 'PURE DELIGHT' !! so REAL ... am sure you wud hav felt the same...

  • Comment removed

  • Respond to this video...Before Sunset...is a really cool...movie but, it kind of left one feeling kinda of cold...meaning you could of changed everything,...meaning her feelings about him...."who know".

  • the charracters are more beautiful in -Before Sunrise- It is too late in -Before Sunset- you agreeeee!!!!!!

  • Where can i find this in ENGLISH???

  • @cutebutterfly09 scroll up and hit the play button.

  • @HelTra91 oh ooops! i thought it was all in german! you never know with youtube....i've never seen this movie.

  • @cutebutterfly09 lol it's ok, I've never seen it either and thought it was in another language but decided to scroll down and read the comments and the next thing I knew I heard english.

  • yehey! gonna watch this :D weee :) thanks a lottt! ♥

  • Did...did Jesse just conceived the reality show concept there, at 08:23?! lol

  • do girls like this even exist anymore? anywhere...on the planet?

  • @japo2345 They do...but you won't notice if you're hanging out with "mainstream" people. They're a special niche, easy to find only when your eyes are open.

  • @japo2345 yes, the cream of the crop, although very hard to find

  • @japo2345 Yes, they are. Just they are too precious kind of human so u cant meet them all the time. They r about to extint :)

  • @japo2345 yes. they do

  • @japo2345 france apparently

  • @japo2345 jep, here ;-)

  • @japo2345 Yes. In Barcelona.

  • great movie!!

  • One thing I don't like about this scene. Why does Jesse aproach Celine in english. You're in Austria for Christ sake, how are you going to assume, that the person next to you speaks english ? Even if they did, it's rude. He should say first 'Do you speak english?' and then ask her what they were arguing about. Anyway, I still love this movie.

  • @Djinga

Jesse is very confident of himself, his US background. he believes the european girl will speak english for him!!!

    haha

  • @Djinga yeah I totally agree with you !

  • @Djinga smart move on his part i thought. by opening with that instead of 'do you speak english' he immediately forms a small connection with her of a shared experience (albeit small).

had he opened with 'do you speak english' it instead creates kindof a cultural barrier between them with the fact that she's not a native speaker and he is.

doing it his way places that cultural difference of only incidental importance, and something they can both move quickly past.

  • @Djinga conversation, as this film and 'Sunset' prove, is an ever evolving art that we refine all our lives. esp. the art of talking to girls, it's never as straightforward as just saying what you mean. boy did i learn that the hard way. but then again, it's that delicious interplay of spoken words and unspoken sentiment that make films like this such a wonderfully engaging experience.

  • @Djinga Well to be fair English is the language people speak nowadays to communicate. But yes you're right that's kind of rude. But I mean he's American and well Americans always assume everybody speaks English, which they should, yet it would be nice once in a while to hear them say a few words in another language.

The movie's great by the way.

  • @Sciencespipo You know, it's a bit of a stereotype that's bordering on truth. I've met many fellow Brits, Americans, Canadians etc.. around the world who speak more than one language. However, it's tough because when your first language is so widely spoken you have less of a chance to speak another. Many other people are forced to learn English because it's so necessary. They're, in a way, very lucky.

  • @loltion You're right and I'm sure there are Brits, Americans or Canadians who speak another language, but I don't think they're the majority.

Obvisoulsy there's less motivation to learn another language when yours is so widely spoken.

On the other hand, English is not the only language to learn^^ I know people who learn Japanese, Russian, Spanish or Italian and they don't do that solely based on convenience since they couldd just stick to English. And none of them are American.

  • @loltion Basically I think knowing another language, whatever it is, is always a plus for you, to open to the world, to discover another culture. By the way I in no means meant to offend English-speaking people, just to point out that it would be nice to hear them say a few words in another language when they travel, that's all.

Of course there are also a lot of non English-speaking people who only speak their language and that's infuriating. End of rant ;-)

  • It's like a drug, I can't stop watching it. Even if I don't put the DVD on I'm always searching for things related to this movie.

  • Sorry I have to thumbs up this movie , because THIS IS EPICNESS!!!

  • this is a great flim

never been on a train before haha

  • ethan hawke as actually talking about reality t.v.. and this way back in 1994.... do you ever wonder if he thought of it first...

  • @phillipborja the youtube 'life in a day' thing, actually reminded me of this..

  • @phillipborja This has also occurred to me. If he's the genesis of reality TV then he should be destroyed ;)

  • @phillipborja ya, cuz he wrote this Retard...

  • i love this movie

  • Richard Linklater is a superb film-maker. This film confirms it.

  • @primaluce88 that is hilarious! thanks so much, you've added to my enjoyment of the movie! =)

  • I've always wondered what the German couple were arguing about

  • this movie is awsome. only problem its in vienna, shud have been in bucharest

  • @RedAnndi are you kidding? Vienna is beautiful! I've never been to Bucharest, but I'm sure they don't have Schönbrunn and the Danube!!

  • @RedAnndi no vienna is awesome

  • I hate it when people talk so loud without any consideration for people around them. iTs not them talking thats the problem, but volume adjustment. lol

  • Fuck you too, cocksucker.

  • @PrankerDemon cokcing fucksucker

  • @Seref2009 "cokcing"? You really are a fucking moron.

  • @PrankerDemon haha good old times

  • good time man good times

  • @Seref2009 Yeah. We were so in love back then.

  • Best movie ever made.

  • Thank you for posting n sharing. enjoy....linking ~ connecting ~~~

  • Je suis amoureux de Julie Delphy

  • I loved this movie and it's part 2 !!!

  • such a beautiful movie

  • You who say that Europe is the most beautiful place in the world, the most historical... etc... Have you ever been in another continent or in all continents? Think about it.

  • I loved both movies sooo much!

  • Africa has 53 sovereign countries—the most on any continent—and is the second largest continent in terms of both land area and population

  • @cpcification so?does that mean africa is beautiful just because it's huge?i've never been there and i don't have anything against africa but what's your point?

  • Europe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROCKS! I am European too ( Portugal) and I must say Europe have the best countries ever!!

  • Everyones allowed their own opinion. geez give Zizinah a rest

  • Great movie indeed!!!

  • look at these european landmarks at the beginning... wonderful... europe is the most beautiful continent of the world in addition to being the most historical, colourful and multicultural... love it (by the way great great job uploading the two movies man!!!)

  • @Flowerofchaos That´s a very beautifull movie and I can´t imagine it in another place than Europe. But there are many wonderfull places in this world, with many possibilities of its own beautifull histories. So I think "most it" and "most that" is quite inadequate.

  • @lashiecdark ok i take back the most beautiful, but the most historical and most multicultural, it's a fact, you can't deny it. read history and geography and you 'll see.. :-)

  • @Flowerofchaos Inida has more diversity than Europe. Pity they're still recuperating from all the "robbings" throughout centuries.

  • @Flowerofchaos Ela nte!

  • hehe no sex scene? boooo! j/k

  • so proud of being EUROPEAN

  • @helpmegotonewzealand

    Yea for Old Europe.

  • @helpmegotonewzealand So proud of having been to Europe....at all lolz :D

  • @helpmegotonewzealand i feel the same. i want to go to new zeland also :(

  • @royaltyguy420 Me too! New Zealand just seems like the perfect country to me :) mountains.. fjords.. okay, so maybe we have that in my country too.. but the Lord of the Rings! and flight of the Conchords!

  • @Helcaloth oh yeah. love those movies. shows the true beauty of New Zealand

  • @helpmegotonewzealand Good for you

  • It's so realistic. I watched this when I was in Hawaii 4 years ago, but didn't get the title. I found it tonight and watched it again. Lovely!

  • This movie is on my mind every minute .. its been 3 days now.. I also downloaded the sequal ... its so touchy... i am a action, thriller, comedy movie fan.. but this seemed to blew me away... its in my dreams and everythime...this movie deservs an oscar... it almost got tears in my eyes...thanks to HBO

  • this is such a thought-provoking movie, i'm afraid to watch before sunset thinking it might ruin the timelessness of this movie, but anyways, i agree with a lot of the things that were said but also disagree - i think that's fair to say though because i think that was the point of this movie; to listen to others' views on the world? I wonder if the "venetian hobo" actually wrote that poem? and also what books were they reading before they met? and finally, this movie makes me want to travel!

  • the second film completes the first film... you have to watch it.... highly recommended

  • yeah i watched it and i love how the end ties in with the beginning - if you're a romantic then you know they end up together, if you're a cinic then you know that they go back to their inevitable lives, etc. And i guess i'll leave my question about the hobo to my imagination since the answer is dependant on that theme lol...but does anyone know what books they were reading on the train?

  • She was reading Madame Edwarda - le mort - Histoire de l'oeil by Georges Bataille and he was reading Klaus Kinski's autobiography, All I Need Is Love.

  • thank you!

  • @phillipborja where can i find it plz

  • @phillipborja whats the title of second film?

could you please tell me,coz this movie is just awesome...i mean more than awesome

  • Great movie .. Why do i feel it doesn't take deserved appreciation? .. Really touched me deeply..

  • I feel the same!!!

  • what is this movie about ... it looks good but i don't know wether to watch it or not

  • @animeQueen94 trust me you wont regret it if you do

  • july delpy is amazing!!!

  • hey thanks for uploading

  • i watched 'before sunset' first, not knowing it was a sequel

    *face palm*

  • @bludee11 I almost did that !

its a good movie though, isnt it ? :)

  • Yeh, i really liked how it's one long conversation.

It bugs me when conversations 'fade to black' in films, i want to listen hehe

    =)

  • is before sunset and before sunrise the same movie???

  • @k3ni8 before sunset is the second part of these movie [before sunrise] :)

    its a great movie!

  • no. this are different movies

  • no before sunrise came first and before sunset takes place 10 years after the characters meet.

  • sequel....watch before sunrise then before sunset

  • great movie,i've watched it alot of times with my bro.we both think it's a wonderful movie :)

  • I LOVE what basically drove her to meeting him and just the way they react to each other's presence immediately. It's so immediate and intense and it never really goes away....

  • What is the opening song? I just heard this in my music class...I should know...

  • Overture of DIDO AND ENEAS - Henry Purcell. I have the full scores of the opera,if you need them

  • Ah! That's right! Thanks!

    I have the music too...somewhere...

  • "Dido And Aeneas"

    Overture

    Composed by Henry Purcell

Performed by Academy of the Begynhof, Amsterdam

  • thanks soo much i was looking for it in my library and they didn't have it. thank you!

  • Do you realize he is talking about something like youtube from 8:24 to 9:05 and this movie was released in 1995

  • he is talking about big brother house lol

  • hahaha!exactly!

  • nt youtube but yea bit like justintv or something lyk that........

  • his idea is quite different from youtube, but who cares

  • One of my all-time favorite movies. So rare that you have a movie that is almost completely dialogue and is never boring.....a magical movie

  • @jeff98211 I agree with you in that .... I feel this is the most perfect film I've ever seen.
