  • Geeeniiiiaaaaalllll..!! por eso es el mas grande de todos los tiempos :D

  • change the title.its not casius

  • "Cant wait for mayweather to knockout pac man and run around the ring like Ali ..lmao funny !

  • Post

  • Hit Big time? Dont think so (comment above) common knowledge he took a dive

  • MUHAMMED ALI!!! Not Cassius Clay....This guy/girl FAILS!

  • @DrRealHipHop NO - He was still named Cassius Clay at this point - you FAIL!

  • @helltopo Lol sorry I don't know why I put that comment, I think I was drunk or something. Sorry, i'm gay.

  • Classic

  • Actually, Ali was a seven to one underdog in the first fight in '64.

  • 1 Person bet on sonny. Muhammad Ali is the GREATEST.

  • Muhammed Ali is the greatest boxer of all time because of so many reasons. Fighting in a harsh weather condition like the one in Zaire, and coming out unscratched is definitely not an easy feat. This guy can fight in any environment during his days. Even Mike Tyson with his enormous skills back then wouldn't have survived in a country like Zaire. My point is to those that don't really want to accept the truth about Muhammad Ali being the greatest boxer of all time.

  • fix

  • liston couldnt be knocked out he was forced to take a dive twice half tha crowd is italian mafia the other half is black panthers , hmmmm gangsters everywhere, hmmmm

  • LISTON WAS OLD BY THE TIME THIS FIGHT TOOK PLACE SH@.

  • This was a setup Ali was a paper champion, not the best ever by any means

  • @whitedeviltx yes he was was great for boxing publicity he was a media dream also he wasnt a bad boxer even people who didnt like boxing they used to tune in to hear him do his rhymes. not the best by far

  • What a freakin bullshit , this fight was a setup . Liston toom a dive !

  • Poor Liston had to drop the fight.

I wished that he would had the ability to control his fights against Ali. He would have giving Ali a mouth full of leather.

  • A King Con......!

  • negr man lol

  • This 'fantom punch' was not unlike Foreman's punch on Michael Moore. Explain Foreman's knockout before arguing that it was a flop by Liston.

  • @batyrn That doesnt change anything, Maybe Foremans fight was rigged as well, but his punch on Moorer at least landed flush, Ali was lucky to even have grazed Liston with the alleged knockout blow

  • @batyrn He punched Michael Moore and knocked him out because he is George Foreman.

  • Mad Men!

  • Wow, me gusto la narracion, es la primera vez que la escucho al espanol.

  • tyson of 1988 would laugh at ali if it was landed on him.

  • @fadethetrade

This isn't Prime Liston either. He is actualyl way past it on this fight.

And I doubt he would laugh at him.

  • @TommyGun7111 tyson walked thru ruddock left uppercut smashes for 18 rounds.Ali hit liston with a punch that wouldn't crush a grape.

  • @fadethetrade

how do you know? Ali hit him at the right spot, exactly. it wasnt that powerful, but it was still picture perfect

  • @TommyGun7111 well,I have an old video tape of several newspeople at ringside ,including Larry merchant when he was a kid,who all saw the punch but it really didn't have that solidness and flushness to knock out a guy like liston who walked thru cleveland williams punches.Something wasn't right here.I take those journalists word at face value because they were right in front of the punch.

  • @TommyGun7111 And ali never ever ever ko'd anyone like that ,that early in a fight.Of course he put Zora Foley to sleep but that was after softening him up for 7 rounds.even if ;liston closed his eyes and let clay hit him any other time,he wouldnt have been bothered by one punch from clay. This fight, liston took a dive.ANother journalist said liston was told by the mob to fall on the first punch landed. The mob was heavily in business in those years in boxing.Too much evidence points towards this

  • @TommyGun7111 ALso,hitting liston right on the spot,as you say, could have knocked down liston, maybe but watch how obvious liston reacts on the canvas, falling over himself so fakely looking. And with all the fraud that went thru boxing over the years, why would you believe this anyway.

  • @TommyGun7111 look at liston from the time hes knocked down to the countout. Then he gets up and miraculously, his legs arent spagetti legs???? WIth that flush put to sleep punch??? Liston should have had problems with his equillibrium as soon as he got up but his legs looked so strong,do you notice this? This was a bunch of shit fraud and you're naive to not agree .It was a flipflop done by Liston because the mob might have payed him more for taking the dive.Don't be naive.

  • The punch was legit....a real knockdown...but Liston could have gotten up & did not. Could have been a tank job...more likely Liston knew he would get taken apart as in the 1st fight & decided to take his paycheck & go home.

  • So rigged.

  • I remember watching this fight as a kid with my father. This fight was thrown no doubt alot of money was made that night and many pissed of people that paid for a fight and got bullshit..

  • Let it be known to all ma that "I AM THE GREAT "GAS"SIUS CLAY" the smelly!!

  • Pussy talk?

  • @TheIMC8 No thanks, I'll leave that to pussies such as you!

  • i can never tell if he took a dive or not. the way he goes down is so strange, and his legs never appear to be rubbery when he's trying to get up or after he does. the punch definitely connected, but I wonder if Liston was just waiting for his chance to make it look good. also, he didn't appear to have much purpose in the ring up until that point.

  • Just watched the movie PHANTOM PUNCH: The Sonny Liston Story starring Vingh Rhames. Good movie. Never answers the question completely if Liston took a dive here but consensus seems to be among people in boxing we've spoken to that he did take a dive. Either way Liston lead a crazy life and was most likely killed by the mob he hung around with in the end due to a double cross from his mobster buddy.

  • No way he took a dive.

  • @TheIMC8 Of course he took the dive.He was still favored over ali in this rematch 5 to 1 or something like that. The mob put their money on ali in 1 and made a fortune.

  • Clay didn't go back to his damn corner >:(

  • Liston got hit right on the "button" (wherever that is...temple?) - he was also lunging forward at the same time Ali was positioning himself for more leverage on that quick right of his. NASTY, how quick Ali could snap those hands!

  • There are books suggesting Mob affiliation with Sonny. Gonna read that. Uh, Ali's behavior is strange after the knockdown. Have to cross reference human behavior, mob literature, kinetics, and some coffee. Will get back on final determination.

Ali's momentum seems to going backward... I heard perhaps liston got hit in the temple. Gonna read. It is interesting.

    Cheers

  • Ali is the best ever

  • LOL, Ali a bad man! I know he hit hard and he good but this is some bull right here. He ain't bit more knock Liston down with that punch than me hitting the man on the moon. Somebody scared Liston and it wasn't Ali.

  • wrong. The punch was thrown at a perfect time. It was not the power of the punch that hit him. Look at Listons feet when the punch lands. Both/one of them are off the floor. Getting hit with a punch without any root to the ground is an easy knockout because there is no pillow to cushion the hit.....watch it for yourself...

  • I hate Ali that twat actually thinks he is the best while this fight was all but regular and that was not only my opinion but an opinion of other great boxers who watched that fight live .

  • Ali inventou o boxe . The Great . The Best

  • His name is Muhammad Ali

  • I know Ali should have gone to a neutral corner, but Liston was down for 14 seconds!

  • @teebee1984 I think Ali was suspecting that something was up. That's why he was standing over him, kind of a "Get up, I know that punch shouldn't have done that." Liston was Mobbed up BTW.

  • @M14Mann "Get up, bum! Nobody'll believe ya!" I heard that's what he actually said to him at that moment, lol.

  • when he first went down ali was saying to him'get up ya bum no one will believe this' as he couldnt believe how easy he knocked him down, lol ali we love you man THE GREATEST.

  • WALCOTT threw the fight. WHY DID HE STOP IT WHEN LISTON WAS ON HIS FEET AND THROWING PUNCHES?????????????

    payoff!!!!!

  • As shady as this fight seems, spar, Sonny wasn't doing any throwing at the end.

  • @lumpagogo sonny quit. He quit in their first fight, too.

  • jrgniuwer its not disrespecting its getting bums on seats and winding them up, and letting them forget their game plan...i have never in my life seen such a boxer like ali, if boxers were awarded degrees of exellence, ali would have a ph.d and the rest o levels. only a fool who does not appreciate the finer points of the art of pugilism will disagree, the objective of a pugilist is the principle of hit and not be hit, ali was the greatest exponent of this

  • He's the ONLY boxer I have ever seen who cal lean AWAY from a punch and not pay the price. Amazing. Good chin, too

  • Have to disagree with that last part.. Ali's major asset in his later carreer was his ability to get hit.

  • I've seen the film footage slowed way down and Sonny Liston GOT HIT BIG TIME!!

  • If so, then I am really missing something. Watched it over 50 ties, but never in slow mo'

Ali had lightning in his hands though. Best laft jab ever.

  • @doshea56 I agree, if you pause on and around the 16 second mark a few times here, you see Sonny is moving forwards and Ali has his right rear foot planted, hip twisting inward, weight moving forwards as he lands a short right that Sonny probably didnt see.

No wonder the general public cant see it if Sonny didnt ;-)

  • @Honeysucklebommie

Many find it odd that Clay urged Sonny to get up--why do that if he just hit him with such a crushing shot? Also, Clay never again used this "anchor punch." Why not?

  • Phantom Punch

  • Float like a butterfly

    Sting like a bee

    The hand can't hit

    What the eye can't see

  • fight boy, fight!!!

  • rumble, young man, rumble

  • @supanova15 now you see me,

now you don't. He thinks he will,

    But I know he won't.

  • jrgniuwer you havent a clue mate, even a mug like tyson would have beaten marciano, do you honestly think a plodding, slow boxer like marciano would beat ali? or liston, holmes, foreman or even lennox come come mate, if you know boxing you wouldnt come up with such absurd claims...you say he was a racist, thats a bit rich coming from a people who are the fathers of racism

  • you fucking idiot you have just made yourself look like a cunt and im not even gonna say why because every one else who reads your comment knows that your an idiot well any boxing fans calling tyson a mug hahaha probably the greatest heavyweight to ever put on gloves your the one who knows nothing about boxing go back to sleep before i put you to sleep you fool

  • @jrgniuwer Nah Ali is better

  • oh and just because someone has black skin it doesnt mean they cant be rascist u twat

  • too easy,ALi barely touched him in the first knockout.

  • Liston didn't seem to mind

  • The fight shouldn't have been stopped, especially considering it was a title fight!

some of the worst refereeing in history..

  • Are u serious? LMAO

When he first got knocked down, he was on da ground for like 15 seconds.

  • it starts from when Muhammad Ali moved away from his opponent. I have no doubt whatsoever that the end result would have ended in a TKO with liston on his ass again,

but the fight shouldn't have been stopped there

  • phantom punch
