@gateman42 History lesson. Land was actually purchased by the Colonists/Americans from the Indians. The Indians were happy about the sale of the land & the deal they made. In truth, they thought they got the better part of the bargain because they believed land was free & no one could "own" it. So when they walked away with their price having been met, they felt as though the Americans were fools. If you're referring to the forced displacement, that's another history lesson for another time.
