I'd hate to cut in on this pointless ongoing argument since the meme started, but I grew up with the show and I remember when Vegeta's voice changed on Namek. I didn't find out about the voice actor specifics until later, but it was always clear to me that the clip was not Sabat. Bottom line: Brian did the voice of Vegeta in the popularized clip which took place during early DBZ. Sabat took over during the Namek saga and onwards. Sabat has since re-dubbed that scene.

Not to mention that it's his voice, he could have been sick, unprepared or just exhausted. The voice isn't a machine, it wears out, needs to be relaxed, hydrated, proper breathing etc. Something I realize few people understand. Being a voice actor is tough, you lose your voice, you lose your key to becoming a character. Simple as that.

Funimation is good and is better than Ocean. Funimation actually TRIES to make their dub sound good, and they've done it for so long and they have improved. They put emotion into it instead of sounding like a robot or just sounding retarded. It just blows my mind to think that some people prefer ocean over funimation.

Funimation Vegeta sounds like he forced a tough British accent. Ocean Vegeta sounded like he sinister jerk that had character. Funimation Picollo sounded like I did a jokingly bad impression of a ... i dunno.. something bad. Ocean Picollo sounded like a natural voice with a growl.

@echostarter no. You are entitled to your opinion, but I have to disagree HEAVILY. Ocean Goku can't even successfully pull off angry yelling (a focal point for the series). He just isn't believable. I don't dislike ocean goku, but funimation has WAY better voices. Sure, I like the fact that the ocean voices were characters from Gundam Wing, which is an awesome show, but they just don't fit the characters. Teen Gohan is better as funimation, and so is Vegeta. And Future Trunks.

Ocean dub fucking sucks, here's why. The voices are awful! The voice acting is awful! It sounds extremely lazy as if they weren't really trying, and there is no emotion in it! it sounds like they are just plainly reading their lines off the script, no original twists to them at all. The Lip syncs are completely off, music is crap, sounds like generic cartoon music. Ocean Goku and Piccolo are probably the only semi decent sounding characters in the dub. I don't know why you ocean fans like this.

I enjoyed the Ocean dubs for the beginning of dbz because everyone sounded a bit younger. The funi dubs were appropriate for the later ones because everyone has deeper and more mature sounding voics

Funimation have been dubbing the series since dragonball, When dragonball Z started they hired Ocean production to help out(Brian Dummond and others were apart of that team)...Funimation had to drop the ocean's cast and then took over the vacant voice roles such as Vegeta and Piccolo etc. they also then hired Bruce Faucner to do the music which was epic imo
