He might've suffered from retrograde amnesia due to trauma brought on by his drug-use, meaning that he forgot a last years of his life, forgot he was a rock star and went back to painting like he had done as a child. He had other mental issues for sure, he could barely communicate and even watching the TV was too hard for him.

If it were shot and he were being harassed at his home then I would be hitting the dislike button. He was a true artist and talked about as if he were gone. I am happy I was aware of this man and his influence in my lifetime. He was innovative.

Poor guy.... his band was his life, and even though he wasn't 100% capable of having a decent conversation, he was still just good old Syd. But the band decided not to continue on touring with him. Again, that's not what happened. The guys from Pink Floyd did NOT disown Syd for 7 years. Where are you getting this from? They actually helped to produce and record his first 2 solo albums. It was SYD who was NON-functioning and distanced himself from others (including the band mates from Pink Floyd). By 1975 he was insane when he showed up during the recording of Wish You Were Here.

Barrett did not hypocritical about his drug use as many artists were doing. Barrett had his own vision on things and most people did not understand him back then. I've the "Atom Heart Mother" album with 6 bonus tracks by Syd (but there's no titles of these Syd's songs). That's a strange re-edition, I've never seen the same, nowhere. There's this song, but in worse quality. It's nicely to hear the song in good quality.
