My minis do this too! We once transported both of them in our mini van at the same time! And we stopped at McDonalds and when we pulled up to the drive in window, my dad slid the door open so the people at the window would see them (we had them tied in the van and I was watching them to make sure they wouldn't try to get out) - EVERYONE IN THE RESTAURANT ran to that window to see them! They got some hamburger buns and fries from the window lady! =] HAHA

He is trained to urinate on command so he frequently goes before loading up.

If travelling a good distance/time he wears a modifed driving diaper to catch his stool.

You put really strong magnets on the bottom of their hooves and the metal of the van just attracts their hooves to it ;)

How cute! I used to breed miniature horses a few years back, and when we would send the babies home, as some of the people had no trailers, they would to the same thing and put them in the mini van!

after watching this,,,,i went and bought a mini van for my mini,,,,and we are working on having him get in without hesitation like this,,,,,he is doing great and enjoys the van (especially since he get treats when he gets in) and i like it better too.I like being able to see him and know he's fine,,,rather that be in a trailor and not be able to see him and if he's o.k. or not.Thanks so much for sharing your relationship with your mini,,,,best wishes from my farm to yours :)

Saber wears a "diaper" under his tail which catches road apples should he make any.

Also he is trained to urinate on command so we have him do that prior to loading up and after unloading.

Saber is 6yrs old but we've only had him in our family for 1 year.

How did we train him to do that?

When we picked him up we didn't have a trailer (tho the family selling him did incase we needed it) & felt he needed to learn to travel in the van from the beginning as that is how we planned to continue trasporting him.

We 1st tried with a ramp which didn't work.

Then I got in the van holding his rope & a few mins later he gave in (I had apples) and jumped right in.

Since then he decided it wasn't a bad thing.
