You may need to contact your service provider. Some phone companies intentionally block certain items such as BBM. You should contact the service provider and check if they have blocked you from accessing it. If not, you should try reloading the BBM and/or the OS from the Desktop Manager.

i saw your application storage its 309.4mb. Why is mine (same model 9780) only 243.3mb??? What is happening here? I didnt store anything yet in my celfone to eat my memory. @juzleaveit2me At the time that phone was completely empty and it was only packing the OS, that's why my memory was showing so much space. Don't worry you are fine ;)

@Gg8830 I'm not sure how much you'll like it... They're a a little outdated compared to today's phones out there. If I were you I would wait until the next "badge" of new phones come out of Blackberry. For now, they're just not up to par against the competition.

@asalomondrin That is exactly what I was thinking! Why would RIM have a dual core processor in their Playbook, and still release the Torch with a 624mhz processor? The Torch is barely useable with that low of a number! 624 is nothing compared to Andriods, iPhone, sure Rim uses there memory bit better, but the the speed of the processor is depressing, its 2010, not 2008.

do all the blackberry's have video playback problems cause my aunt had the blackberry curve 8520 from sprint and it wouldn't playback any videos right, they were all choppy, even the videos i put on the sd card and i was just wondering why that may have been, was it cause its not a 3g phone, idk but her and her daughter had the same phone and same problem so they exhanged them for the lg optimus which has no problem with video playback
@zlukeyz It has a faster Processor, more RAM(512mb), 4gig internal memory, 5Megpixil camera and most important OS6. I'm pretty sure you can upgrade the 9700 to OS6 but the 9780 looks so snappy. I didn't see any lag, but again I'm still using the 8300BB. Everything lags on that phone, but it takes a beating and works ever since i got it brand new 3 to 4 years ago.
just an updated 9700 just as good though. 9700 getting the OS 6 so it'll be almost the same except for the camera, ram ,memory looks better though, all black looks real cool.

There aren't any significant changes made from the previous model aside from the fact that the 9780 has 512mb RAM, and 5MP camera. What bothers me though is why RIM won't release an update for Blackberry OS 6.0 on the current Bold (9700). If you already have the 9700 and are locked into a fixed term contract, then it is absolutely not worth upgrading. This model does not have a new processor nor does it have wifi-N. If you want to buy a Bold now the only logical thing would be is to wait.
@lolorolo15 I'd personally go for the 9780, maybe because touchscreens tend to be unreliable...Touchscreens may be cool, but nothing beats actually feeling the buttons you're pressing...The 9780 also looks more professional...but hey, in the end it's down to your personal preferences.
@lolorolo15 I bought the Torch the day it came out.I had been using the Curve for the past two years and really enjoyed it for most of my business needs with a small bit of surfing. The Torch is great on a lot of levels, but the battery time is simply terrible and quite frankly unacceptable in this day and age.Maybe it would last for 7-8 hours.Add a few calls to that and some surfing and it was even worse.Took it back and am awaiting the 9780 arrival.
plus i prefer "silver" chrome. i'm just saying it would be stupid to buy 9780 if you already own a 9700. There are videos of a bold 9700 runing on os6, and it works pretty well. RIM won't let us update 9700 with os6 because they want us to buy this "new" phone.. i guess

Why? Why blackberry? It has a 5mp camera, more ram(I believe) and OS6 stock...compared to 9700. I loved my 9700, but it still lagged and all. Why aren't they pushing a NEW CPU? If they did, the 9780 would be a HUGE success. Even 800mhz.... I am using a 1g CPU...I will never go back to BB untill they get their shit together....9000 to 9700 to Android...never been happier!
not a fan of phones with moving parts, more to break. It would be handy if they got rid of the track pad, made the key area bigger and added a touch screen, seems more fluid. Just my opinion though.

I went to Tmobile yesterday to upgrade my phone & get a BB9700 but they told me it was being discontinued because there was a new bb bold coming out in October. SO MARK YOURE CALENDARS, MID-OCTOBER BB9780 HITS STORES !
They should have done more incremental upgrades. 512MB ram and OS6 is a little disappointing. Maybe should have increased the screen size and the res as well.. :(

@lolorolo15 I'd personally go for the 9780, maybe because touchscreens tend to be unreliable...Touchscreens may be cool, but nothing beats actually feeling the buttons you're pressing...The 9780 also looks more professional...but hey, in the end it's down to your personal preferences.

@lolorolo15 I bought the Torch the day it came out.I had been using the Curve for the past two years and really enjoyed it for most of my business needs with a small bit of surfing. The Torch is great on a lot of levels, but the battery time is simply terrible and quite frankly unacceptable in this day and age.Maybe it would last for 7-8 hours.Add a few calls to that and some surfing and it was even worse.Took it back and am awaiting the 9780 arrival.

plus i prefer "silver" chrome. i'm just saying it would be stupid to buy 9780 if you already own a 9700. There are videos of a bold 9700 runing on os6, and it works pretty well. RIM won't let us update 9700 with os6 because they want us to buy this "new" phone.. i guess

@glowprod Because the 9700 does not support OS 6 properly - The reason for the 512 MB in 9780 is mainly for OS 6 - 5 PX camera is just something nice :)

Why? Why blackberry? It has a 5mp camera, more ram(I believe) and OS6 stock...compared to 9700. I loved my 9700, but it still lagged and all. Why aren't they pushing a NEW CPU? If they did, the 9780 would be a HUGE success. Even 800mhz.... I am using a 1g CPU...I will never go back to BB untill they get their shit together....9000 to 9700 to Android...never been happier!

not a fan of phones with moving parts, more to break. It would be handy if they got rid of the track pad, made the key area bigger and added a touch screen, seems more fluid. Just my opinion though.

fair enough, but then again look at apple, they only offer one version of their product and they are doing well. I still have faith in RIM though, I think they will come out with a good product sometime this year, I just don't think they are going as fast as they should.

Apple just has a super Mp3 player that makes calls. Some apps are good and you can download good things for it
But RIM has the all around communication phone! Be connected ANYWHERE you go phone. iPhone isn't really my thing, I rather have what I have now... My 9700 and an iPod

yeah I agree with you I'm holding out for the 9780 or storm 3, I was just saying going with similar looking products wouldn't neccisarily be bad for business as Apple has shown, they are more play things than anything else though.

ONLY thing I miss is my pushed data...that is it. BBM was good, but nothing that was super special.
Android market is HUGE, tons of it is FREE! And the apps and games are mostly excellent. Unlike BB apps and all. Have to pay for the good stuff...
I'll reconsider BB when they come out with a better layed out concept than the Torch, push a better CPU(I LOVE my 1Ghz) and it would be nice to see something boot up in under a minute

And the boot up time is only if you battery pull, BB's smart enough to save enough power to shut down main components like radio use and things of that sort and "sleep" it's self and boot up quick when u recharge

I went to Tmobile yesterday to upgrade my phone & get a BB9700 but they told me it was being discontinued because there was a new bb bold coming out in October. SO MARK YOURE CALENDARS, MID-OCTOBER BB9780 HITS STORES !

They should have done more incremental upgrades. 512MB ram and OS6 is a little disappointing. Maybe should have increased the screen size and the res as well.. :(
