I did 1:02:085 with a 360 controller ( calibrated in a "progressive" manner to get more smoothness ) , but i'm sure i could get another second or two with a Wheel.
No, i'm not trying to brag, really, i'm just curious to quantify how much did the physics update change. I can't know that since i registered like 3 days ago.
GReat driving, and love how you managed to blip the throttle in that first downshift between maintaining partial throttle for momentum. A great advantage that comes with left-foot-braking no doubt ^_^
im new to iracing and i have literally no idea how you manage to control the car going that fast through corners, it always results in me oversteering... driving me nuts. can only do a 1:07 :(
@chinmassager The video has been done with the Advanced Solstice, not the Rookie car, the driver is Frosty, who has huge experienced and is one of the fastest drivers in the whole service.
Also, the video has been done 2 years ago, the car has gotten physik updates since then and drives a little different then it did when this video was made. So dont get discouraged.
Driving 1:07 if your new to iRacing is a VERY good lap time.
That's about the best I can do too. I still feel discouraged not hitting 1:03s like others do in practice, is it possible they're using an adv. Solstice?
I want to start racing but what time do you think I should aim to be consistent with?
Also, as a general question on the side what comes after the Solstice, Spec Ford?
What was your progression like if you don't mind me asking.
ya, i'm not sayin your act labs is junk. i got an old truck i've had forever and i love it. but sitting next to a new truck, it would be an easy choice.

Did you perhaps try a couple of laps again?

@Gr1mPenguin Scratch the 2 seconds sentence, it will probably be just one

you should look into act labs, cheaper and with changable shift plates, and a longer throw if thats your thing
vettedude418 3 years ago
act labs, lol. side by side you'd have to be an idiot not to take an sst over crack labs.
theranster9 3 years ago
than call me an idiot..i love my act labs the sst is too..short throwy..more game like for me
vettedude418 3 years ago
no, i wont call you an idiot. all i am saying is if you really had both side by side, the choice would be obvious.
theranster9 3 years ago
well maybe in build quality but my personal preference is act labs ;) see yah in iracing

Is the gearing different in Adv solstice than rookie? Can you do chassis setup? I can only adjust tire pressure in rookie. Nice lap!

Been waiting for a full onboard with the solstice... thanks!!
