His Holiness is trying to explain that the pigeon was lost, and has nothing to do with miracles. I had pigeons flying into my apartment all the time. This isn't necessarily a sign from God, but rather a pigeon's confusion of flying in places. And the pigeon of course likes to go where there's light.

And this isn't a light pigeon. This is a real pigeon. I wish the Coptic people would not spread such hysteria.

I just typed into the search bar here on Youtube:

Egyptian Pigeon

and saw the same thing as was in this video. Dark head, dark tail, with stripes on the wings.

Pigeons will fly in a lighted building because it is not dark.

The 1962 apparitions were a miracle. The all white doves flew at night in a cross formation and disappeared. Much different than this video.

The things that makes this video special is the fact that this was taken at night. Birds are not nocturnal.

@mumswording They aren't nocturnal but they still wake up if they are startled or if artificial light makes them think it's day time. Grey Pidgeons can nest themselves anywhere as well. I'm a Catholic and it is funny that it landed beside him, but if it was a direct call of God would it not have come as a dazzling white dove instead of a pidgeon that are considered "flying rats" because of their uncleanliness?

@DCDUO When I say nocturnal I mean that the pigeons can only fly with light. Doves fly less than 1 mile before having to land and pigeons can fly more than double. Either way light is needed to fly long distance. Look back to the 1962 pics of the apparition of Mary and you ll see that the "birds" were flying at night and had a glow to them. This happened once again when you look at other videos of this event.

@mumswording I don't doubt the 1962 apparitions at all. The birds in those apparitions were doves because they resemble the Holy Spirit and purity. If you type "Grey pidgeon" into google you'll see these. They are all over any city I've been to, atleast in Ireland and America. Albeit rare for Egypt I just don't think it should be taken as a direct sign from God because He would (if He was to show himself in a bird) show show Himself as a dove, a little cleaner and hygenic than a Pidgeon.

@mumswording I know what you mean about Pidgeons flying at night, but they tend to live off the edges of buildings instead of nest themselves in trees, so it wouldn't have to fly to get there, it could well have already been there, even in the building. If it was the dead of night they wouldn't move, but with all the lighting and commotion seen here...it's not impossible. Unlikely and funny, though.

& It's already not flying in the Night....  :)
