  • Lolz when joesph was shooting those dogs the blood seemed look like sprinklers

  • i almost spilt my drink going to the sound lol

  • wow color version

  • One thing that confuses me: In Japanese RE1, the opening scene has the zombie dogs being shot to pieces and multiple images of Joseph's dead, bloody body... plus Chris smoking a cigarette. In American RE1, those parts are censored out. However, in Japanese RE2, the violent game over scenes are taken out along with the game being made easier, while we got the harder, more violent version.

  • Lol this is just looking like a bad Cosplay video xD (nothing against Bio hazard I love the game but seriously... They could have better costums/actors D: )

  • *tons of Japanese dialogue*

    "This is Brad!"

Suddenly I'm blown back to those poorly translated and dubbed Eastern Films...

  • from what I searched around internet,it seems Chris' japanese voice was done by Kazuhiko Inoue(Kakashi from Naruto) and Barry was played by Masaharu Sato(Master Roshi in Dragon Ball Kai and Death in Castlevania games)for these cutscenes.

  • @johnnysasaki Really now? Where did you learn this from, by ear?

  • @KeijiDragon

no,I looked at japanese wikipedia(yeah, not the most reliable, but that's all I got)and they only listed those two characters.

Curiously, the upcoming Resident Evil Revelation will feature japanese dub,and Chris and Jill will be played by the same japanese VAs who did them in Marvel vs. Capcom 3(coincidentally,Jill's VA also voice Sienna Guillory in the japanese dub of the live-action RE movies)

  • they shouldn't have removed those jap voices

  • that alarm in japanese is... KAWAII!

  • Biohazardo

  • how do you say Jill Sandwich in Japanese?

  • @tintor2

'Jiru Sanwitsu' or something like that.

  • The way he says Baiohazado is so fucking awesome, and scary too man. The Japanese voices are really good, the English one isn't bad, and I like krauser voice, but the Japanese people just do a better job with the tone of voice, emotion, and it sounds more natural than the English voices. They should have kept doing with the Japanese voices instead of just using the English voices.

  • Rebecca sounds so cute, perfectly fits her.

Jill also sounds cute, but still mature, loveeeelyyy <3

the japanese voices don't sound emotionless, unlike the english ones...damn, they could have added an option in the DS game after all! or the original if it was possible back then

  • I know that video game voice acting was kinda mediocre at that time, but some of the in-game diolouge sounded really corney. But hey that made it memorable i guess. i would really love to see this becaome a live action movie or miniseries. THough if i was in charge, the STARS members t-shirs/shirts would be red/blue/green depending on the cahracter and their vests would be black tactical vests. Barry with his Python, Chris with his black beretta, JIll's is an inox finish with wood grips. Well?

  • Does anybody know who the live action actors are?

  • I'll give you a hint.

Not even Capcom themselves knew even back then, about who the live action actors and Japanese & English voice actors for the game were, according to a former Capcom music composer who worked on this game,

    =P

  • much better than the original

  • This explains why the live action acting is the way it is. They probably shot it they way they did so that the Japanese voice actors could match the lip movements more easily.

  • I do like the added emotion, but to bad we probably wouldn't have gotten epic lines like "Jill sandwich!" if it stayed in Japanese. XD

  • Well that was weird. Why were Joseph's shotgun blasts SILENT?

  • I'm curious as to how different the actual translation of the japanese would be to what was said in english in the final game...

  • japanese voice sucks ><

  • I GOT A SHOTGUN

  • 6:47 MP3... PLEASE!!!!!!

  • Baio...hazaldo XDD I love their Engrish!

  • Chrissüü!

  • noticed that the japanese word for bomb is "hiroshima". NOT!!

  • Wow, the Japanese voice acting sounds better than that in the English version... I would think.

  • Liked all the voices except from Jill's voice xD lol

  • japanese jill sounds even worse than english jill

  • HHAHA =D I can understand some of the dialog but Its better then the English I will tell you that XD

  • 3:36 Even the Character Introduction theme was changed

  • @DustyCrystalRose Uh...no it isn't

  • Wow this is so much better than the english version lol

  • @DustyCrystalRose

You only say that because you can't understand what they're saying. Jill sounds like a fucking Japanese Loli

  • @aNightmaresRequiem

*shrugs* Personal preference. To each his own. Lol

  • lol the ending.

  • LOL how come on the original version they cut off joseph getting eaten by the dogs and this 1 they dont ?????????????

  • @robertc4smb because the japanese version has the uncensored intro while the u.s has the censored intro

  • @tapion567 ohh but thats weird because in the US version the age rating is for 16+

  • He's got a point why having it japanese if they are american and in the USA. but i think capcom should of put it japanese for the people that speak japanese.

  • Rebbeca sounds really cute :3

  • Bi-o...hazard......

  • なんでクリスそんなに緊張感の無い声なんだ(笑)

  • @ KeijiDragon

    wow! :D

thank you for share the original BIO HAZARD video

nice to watch and hear it :D

  • wow that they realy showen joseph corps in this one O_O

  • Comment removed

  • awesome :) I've never heard of Japanese dialogues before watching this, thanks for posting!

  • You guys do know japanese people love english voice acting, even if its cheesy, also they probably think english VA put more emotion into there stuff.

We are alot alike, english people dont like it when our voice actors are cheesy and bad, while Japan thinks opposite and they like our VA, while they hate there own, if its really bad.

  • @YamiAnubisX I dunno that is quite a sweeping statement.. but you may be right.. remember, Japanese are very proud people.. and Japanese voice actors are definitely (imho... ) better than many of their Western counterparts.

  • OMG!!! The gore is insane lol!!

  • I got a shotgun

  • Biohazard came out first then the japanese released it in English version.

  • 3:39 "I have a shotgun!" lol

whats the name of that song?

  • Nice buzzcut Wesker! xD

  • OH BARRY!

  • The lameness I guess was from using japanese VAs for American characters. Japanese voice actors are most of the time very good

  • Dude this is waaay better...

  • jill's voice in the opening sounds a bit ridiculous, but aside from that part everything sounds pretty good...well at least better than the english version..then again that's not saying much :/

  • 3:39 i got a shotgun!! the best part!!!

    XD

  • mite kiresu!!

    xD

  • hajhajhajha xDDD

  • At first, it looked like she said "I set us up the bomb" at 6:04. XD

  • Chris' Japanese voice is the voice of Marco on Gunslinger Girl :)

  • LOL at the music for the intros

  • Wesker looks like Jonny Cool.

  • 声優誰だろう・・・・・

  • That was awesome!!

    Man, thank you!

I got one of those Drama CD :3

  • the cast intro music sounds like an anime intro...

  • I liked the Japanese voices. They sounded as if they used good voice actors.

Jill's voice though...maybe switch up Rebecca's VA and Jill's? Jill's suppose to be a woman.

Chris' voice is okay, but I think it's a touch too high pitched. The voice over at the very beginning sounded awesome, but different than who actually voiced Chris.

  • I like the English more not because they're better, but because they're epic.

This is coming from somebody who usually can't stand English anime dubs.

  • "Mite Kurissu"

    OMG, Jill's voices... Dunno... =P

  • Awesome song at 3:39

  • I gotta admit Rebecca's voice sounded better in the Japanese cut but the rest, eh, Chris and Jill do not sound right to me for some reason, I mean Jill in my opinion, sounds a bit too young and Chris's voice sounds more fitting for Barry Burton in my opinion. I will admit, the Japanese voice actors have more emotion than the English ones.

  • I wish we could've played a bit of the game with Japanese voices. Oh and Resident Evil 1.5.

  • Resident evil is an offical japanese name the name was changed a band already had the name Biohazard so they changed it by law to Resident evil

  • HOT!

  • i wanted to see wesker's japanese voice :(

  • Sorry. Its wasn't available for anyone to hear I guess. Actually now that I think about it, I think the person saying "CHRIS" in Japanese first in 0:50 is actually Wesker.

  • o well at least i got to hear jill and rebecca's japanese voices :)

  • you have the game on japanese? and lol the voice acting at the intro was weird. i mean i know they showed more emotion but lol. why should some one put emotion on a actor who is acting. its real life acting not voice acting! the only good voice acting is at the game scenes. no need to put emotion on a real life guy. lol

  • I'm not quite sure if this will answer you, but I think that's part of the point of a dub, not just to "translate" the voices. In dubbing, you can't just say the lines for the character and expect that to go well with the audience, you have to retain everything in the character as well as emotion, character dialects [if possible], accents [if possible], etc. For the live action "actors", they were probably hired just cause they looked like the games characters. They probably didn't know how to

  • oh. so they went to japan to voice act? but either way japanese sounds really awsome. when it comes to voice acting japan really know how to do their stuff. they make it sound serious like it was real. but still i also love the voice actors for future games. america really improved there.

  • actually act on the set. You know, actors saying characters lines in the live action scenes like "Jill, run for that house!" Since the entire game would have originally been "dubbed" in Japanese, this wouldn't have been an issue. But since the JP VA was scrapped, and the choice for English actors made, they couldn't just settle with just the live action actors since they probably sucked in speaking lines.

  • When they decided to just go for English VA for all the releases, they had to be dubbed AGAIN, BACK into English by the game's voice actors to maintain consistency. Sounds like a hassle.

What I should mention in all of this is that, according to creator Shinji Mikami, all the English voices were recorded in Japan. Also done in Japan were the live action (LA) cut-scenes production. If you look at the game's credits for the LA segments, you'll notice all the credits are in Japanese.

  • @KeijiDragon Please note that I was being pretentious with this statement. Don't assume it as absolute truth.

  • The Japanese seemed to have more emotion.

    Thrilling.

  • @ManiacManic Thats how it usually is. Voice acting is a much larger business in Japan.

  • Jirr! XD

  • Very nice, it's interesting to see what could have been.

  • Great video, nice work Kei.
