Even if Gerard Way hadn't narrated this, I would still love it. It's eerie, it''s dark, and it's hauntingly beautiful--pure art, in my opinion. I mean, I'm a die-hard MCR fan and have been for years, but Voltaire truly is brilliant and I think he's the one we should be appreciating right now. I'll admire Gerard (and Frank, Mikey, and Ray) every time I hear one of their songs or read The Umbrella Academy. :) Happy Holidays everyone!

My assignment on this film was to make a Christmas film using those two dolls. I was doomed from the beginning. And yes, you can't animate meat without getting the Svankmajor reference. I guess I have to find something no one's ever animated. Maybe I'll become famous for animation dancing tampons. heh heh

@voltairenyc Hey there's absolutely nothing wrong with pulling in referential influence from other artists whether intended or not. If anything it adds more flavor and soul to the work that it came from something and that it has a sense of history about it. Even if you weren't trying for street of crocodiles, the fact that they're embedded in your psyche means it informs your work somehow.

Also street of crocodiles made me weep openly and exclaim 'this is poetry in motion' when i first saw it.
