.I am a welder with over 30 years experience, and It would take me at least 5 min to cut thru just one of the the boxes mentioned. In this video, you can see at least 10 boxes being cut at the same time, and thats just the ones you can see. Even though gypsum wallboard could not have melted under the temperature of the fire, is it possible that small dust particles of the gypsum could have been scattered and collected? I mean there was about 1 million tons of wallboard that went down with the building.

Hasn't it occurred to anyone that if iron oxide + aluminum= Thermite, then couldn't it be possible that rust or corrosion of those high carbon metal components of the building, plus the aluminum utilized in the plane structure with the splash of heat and fire could make much the same? Yes you are correct, it can be done, but dont you think it would be doubtful that the us government would go to such length, as it would be too hard to implement and so many things could go wrong. Also why make the building fall down? It did not need to fall to have the same effect, Everything else that happened on that day was enough to go to war. The towers had steel frames in a coastal city, meaning they would rust, plane bodies are aluminum, rust + aluminum = thermite, easily ignitable at temperatures under 1800 degrees. heavy floors and furnishings dropping several stories sound like explosions, lets do this testing as well.

This causes the heat to be concentrated in the region. The box cutter would melt given an unlimited supply of thermate but the cut in the box cutter direct the heat to the area to be cut meaning that area receives the greatest amount of heat in the shortest space of time.

Thermit reaction is aluminium (aeroplane) and Iron oxide (rusty iron girders). High ignition temperature probably caused by blowtorch effect of draft created by jet fuel fire.

Yes, this video proves that, if correctly done, thermite can cut steel. However, it also proves two other things which contradict the theory.
1. This can only be done by fixing bulky additions to structural members;
2. This can only be achieved via a logistical nightmare, including having to sneak large amounts of thermite/metal additions into the towers, access the columns, fix the pieces/thermite/fuses to the columns (without no one noticing) in the exact area the aircrafts were to hit.
It proves the one point that I made, that being that the BBC's "expert" (and mythbusters for that matter) were being disingenuous in their experiments.

@cjnewson88 I think you are straining to debunk this. 1. Obviously, this was an extremely low budget experiment. Lightweight, compact composite/alloy holders can easily be created on a military budget. Smaller particle thermite all the way down to nano size would have generated much higher heat impulses, thus requiring much smaller units. 2. Yes, it is a logistical nightmare. So is robbing a bank or planning a battle. Given the right motivation, it is not impossible.

While I feel using thermite explosives most probably were used for both practical and concealment purposes, the amount of sheer dust particles generated and the lack in ability to distinguish objects leads me to believe something more devious was the cause.

This assures that there will be no mess ups or half collapsed towers, also pulverizing the steel around it.

My physics is suspect, but would this not shift downward energy into a horizontal direction, causing the entire structure to collapse in on itself? It`s a good conspiracy theory but nothing else. In order to bring down a building like the WTC you would need several tons of thermite (over 100 tons! ). Nobody is able to get such an amount into a building. FURTHERMORE "Super Thermite" is NOT an explosive. It is just an very efficient fast-burning thermite. It is very expensive, hard to make and ONLY available for the military. By the way: a large fuel-fire with a stack-effect is able to melt steel!

Can you prove a kerosene fire fueled by unconcentrated oxygen (wind) can melt steel? The energy of impact for the two planes ranged from 2 billion ft-lb to 3 billion ft-lb, some 60 to 100 times greater than that absorbed by the Empire State Building. It does not account for the energy released by the exploding jet fuel, which greatly exceeded the energy released by the much smaller B-25 fuel supply.

Most of the B-25 impact was absorbed by the building's exterior wall leaving very little to damage the interior structure. The 767 impacts, however, not only produced gaping holes in the WTC exterior but also destroyed much of the structural core at the center of each tower.
@Mosbartie Yes, but not the entire height of the building, the rest of the building should have been sound enough to at the very least withstand the failure of the upper floors and destroy only the same amount (or somewhere near the same) number of floors below, or the more likely case topple and fall off the top of the tower. Another problem is it appears the majority of the fuel burned off on impact. Not saying it was our government who did it but something "helped" those buildings.

Taking out 4 times the next set and 8 times the next. As far as the fuel goes, there are several eye whitness accounts of the fuel going down the elevator shafts. That would cause a high thrust of air flow creating great heat. Similair to forges used by common day Blacksmiths. Not arguing, only sharing my thoughts.

Hasn't it occurred to anyone that if iron oxide + aluminum= Thermite, then couldn't it be possible that rust or corrosion of those high carbon metal components of the building, plus the aluminum utilized in the plane structure with the splash of heat and fire could make much the same? There had been a great deal of steel alloy experimentation in the past.
After all, the video's presenter DID say that thermite of any kind can cause this. Might be a better reason for rust control.

The boxes you used would of had to be built into the towers to begin with, which means the towers were built just so they could be destroyed like they were. But wait, this theory doesn't seem to have been tested. The towers had steel frames in a coastal city, meaning they would rust, plane bodies are aluminum, rust + aluminum = thermite, easily ignitable at temperatures under 1800 degrees. heavy floors and furnishings dropping several stories sound like explosions, lets do this testing as well.

@Gageliesabout911 Well if you actually listen to what he is saying and look at 12:50 and you will see the slot along the box cutter to allow the flame/heat from the thermate to escape. This causes the heat to be concentrated in the region. The box cutter would melt given an unlimited supply of thermate but the cut in the box cutter direct the heat to the area to be cut meaning that area receives the greatest amount of heat in the shortest space of time.

A lot of modern jets have titanium rotating parts. You only have to look at formula (x?) motor racing cars. They have titanium skid-blocks fitted to the undersides. When these blocks strike the road surface there is a large shower of long persistence white sparks. This may account for the white flashes seen on impact of planes.

Thermit reaction is aluminium (aeroplane) and Iron oxide (rusty iron girders). High ignition temperature probably caused by blowtorch effect of draft created by jet fuel fire.

Yes, this video proves that, if correctly done, thermite can cut steel. However, it also proves two other things which contradict the theory.
1. This can only be done by fixing bulky additions to structural members;
2. This can only be achieved via a logistical nightmare, including having to sneak large amounts of thermite/metal additions into the towers, access the columns, fix the pieces/thermite/fuses to the columns (without no one noticing) in the exact area the aircrafts were to hit.

Yes, what gets me is that nobody would question the fact that regular explosives can take down buildings but you still need cutting charges that focus the energy where you want it so how can any thermite test that doesn't at least try to do the same be seen as honest.
Personally I don't follow any particular theory, I just believe there needs to be an honest investigation, but you have to be sceptical about the motives when the BBC & Mythbusters tests were clearly set up to fail.

I think BBC and Mythbusters probably weren't secretly and purposely trying to create a failed experiment. It think that the fearful, derisive atmosphere towards "conspiracies" is enough to persuade actual experimenters to subconsciously look for the wrong answers in a sloppy way.

@cjnewson88 I think you are straining to debunk this. 1. Obviously, this was an extremely low budget experiment. Lightweight, compact composite/alloy holders can easily be created on a military budget. Smaller particle thermite all the way down to nano size would have generated much higher heat impulses, thus requiring much smaller units. 2. Yes, it is a logistical nightmare. So is robbing a bank or planning a battle. Given the right motivation, it is not impossible.

While I feel using thermite explosives most probably were used for both practical and concealment purposes, the amount of sheer dust particles generated and the lack in ability to distinguish objects leads me to believe something more devious was the cause.

My physics is suspect, but would this not shift downward energy into a horizontal direction, causing the entire structure to collapse in on itself? It`s a good conspiracy theory but nothing else. In order to bring down a building like the WTC you would need several tons of thermite (over 100 tons! ). Nobody is able to get such an amount into a building. FURTHERMORE "Super Thermite" is NOT an explosive. It is just an very efficient fast-burning thermite. Can you prove a kerosene fire fueled by unconcentrated oxygen (wind) can melt steel? The energy of impact for the two planes ranged from 2 billion ft-lb to 3 billion ft-lb, some 60 to 100 times greater than that absorbed by the Empire State Building. It does not account for the energy released by the exploding jet fuel, which greatly exceeded the energy released by the much smaller B-25 fuel supply.

@Mosbartie : Cool. just one problem, how did Atta fly a 767 into a target less than twice it's size at 500mph??? That is quite the feat on it's own if you ask me. Also, at a very risky altitude.

@Lennybird91 The greater kinetic energy allowed the 767 aircraft to penetrate much further into the twin towers than the B-25 was able to do at the Empire State Building. Most of the B-25 impact was absorbed by the building's exterior wall leaving very little to damage the interior structure. The 767 impacts, however, not only produced gaping holes in the WTC exterior but also destroyed much of the structural core at the center of each tower.

@Mosbartie Yes, but not the entire height of the building, the rest of the building should have been sound enough to at the very least withstand the failure of the upper floors and destroy only the same amount (or somewhere near the same) number of floors below, or the more likely case topple and fall off the top of the tower. Another problem is it appears the majority of the fuel burned off on impact. Not saying it was our government who did it but something "helped" those buildings.

@Cougar139tweak All good points, but here is my thoughts on it. If the floors weekened gave way and did take out more floors, then thats 2 times the amount on the next floors. Taking out 4 times the next set and 8 times the next. As far as the fuel goes, there are several eye whitness accounts of the fuel going down the elevator shafts. That would cause a high thrust of air flow creating great heat. Similair to forges used by common day Blacksmiths. Not arguing, only sharing my thoughts.

Where is the large fuel fire?.. 80% burnt up instantly outside the buildings on impact, and the rest would of burnt for NO longer than 15 minutes. It was "jet fuel" remember.. Actually, I think I may have seen an amateurish thermite video you made, which only proved, how shit you truly are :)~

@TheChemistryChannel The whole theory is that it wasn't terrorists who did this. That i was the U.S. Gov't looking for an excuse to wage war for Mid-East oil. Since the US is part of the UN, we couldn't just run in there and kill for oil with no cause. This would make us look bad. (and every corrupt political state never wants to look bad!) So the US military could have made super thermite, placing it in the building during the elevator renovation months. Plus, money doesn't stop the US gov't...
