  • this was an awesome show!! they need to come back to cincinnati!!!!!

  • God bless Eddie Vedder for his respect for The Who. It's nice to know my generation still remember where we came from, and how The Who in particular, changed the face of rock music. Would you just listen to the crowd singing along. Gives me goosebumps!

And the drummer is making a pretty good fist of it, not easy to do when you consider that Keith Moon was god at a drumkit.

  • @lexy67flc Dude, Matt Cameron is a pretty fuckin awesome drummer too. With the greatest Grunge repertoire ever....Soundgarden AND Pearl Jam....I wouldn't put much past him....Spoonman (Soundgarden....the Audioslave version isn't as good) is a bitch to play on the drums, lol....and Blackhole Sun is one of my favorite songs to play.....a lot of Pearl Jam songs have some badass drum parts too....

  • i was at this show and the funny thing about a pearl jam concert is when they finish what seems to be the last song of the night no one leaves...everyone sticks around hoping that maybe they'll come out to do just one more. it's hilarious. this was a great show. eddie wiped his ass with a Rolling Stone's magazine. good times.

  • Very nice I have seen PJ five times and have never heard this in person. I hope for it everytime, great cover.

  • I was at this show and it was great, but the sound system at US Bank Arena sucks, especially if you're under the overhang portion of the arena. The show at Rupp Arena in Lexington was better in terms of sound quality, but I can't really complain, as it was Pearl Jam :) I love when they play Baba O' Reily and Fuckin' Up with the lights on. If you've never seen PJ live, it's a must do!

  • What an AWESOME cover and all without sythesizers! These guys are fukin unbelievable! They actually sound Whoish which is no easy task. I always respected Pearl Jam but I had no idea how really good they actually were> They did this song justice with out synthesizers which...ladies and gentleman ..is not to b takin lightly! God bless Eddie, Pete, Pearl Jam and The Who! HOW AWESOME!!!!!

  • You have not ben paying atention. No insult intended..Eddie has said, " I should have been sending Pete Townshend father's day cards." The man loves Pete. And it is quite apparent in his songs and performances...please look for it as it is beautiful.

  • WTF are you going on about? If you read what I said your statement makes no sense.

  • If there's one band that can pull off this song, it's Pearl Jam.

  • It's so cool to see there still is some respect for old bands! and every in the crowd new the words. ITS GREAT! THE WHO ARE LEGENDS!

  • Roger Daltrey has been quoted saying that he thinks Pearl Jam carries on The Who's legacy of pure rock and roll. The last Who show I went to, they brought out Eddie Vedder on stage for a song (forgot which one). Both awesome bands and Pearl Jam will soon be joining The Who in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.

  • Do caralho mesmo!!!!

massa demais, os caras mandaram ver...

só não ganham dos mestres do the who, mais cara foi demais mesmo!!!

  • wow that was amazing

shivers down my spine! it was beautiful!

  • fuckin awesome!....great cover by great band!

  • I dont need to be forgiven.......

  • as a the who fan this gave me shivers.. eddies gotta relly sick voice.. =)

  • Damn, I love Pearl Jam! They spread the gospel of Townshend and Young better then 1,000 classic rock stations while creating their own new testament of powerful music. God bless Eddie and Long Live Rock!

  • I'm officially addicted to this song since the last couple of days.

  • it's only teenage wasteland!

  • lots of feedback

  • Is that Daltry on stage? Looks and sounds just like him.

  • Wow, Pearl Jam's cover is almost just as good as The Who's version. Great vid!

  • Interesting that no one's commented on the fact that this song was played @ site of the '79 Who concert disaster (esp. in light of what happened at Roskilde). Don't get me wrong: I like these guys and love The Who. Pollard ain't bad either-saw one of GBV's farewell shows in NYC.

  • Vedder mentioned it. He came out before the opening band and played the Kids Are Alright solo and spoke about it for awhile during the show. He's a big big Who fan.

  • Thanks for the letting me know about what EV said/did prior to the gig. I thought it was interesting that no YouTube users mentioned the arena's history and Roskilde. I know Vedder and PT are quite close: I saw the Who the day after Roskilde. Pete told the audience he had spoken w/Eddie to give him moral support because he'd been through the same thing.

  • dlocke - nice job on video, brings back memories of a great concert.

  • Thanks! It was a great show.

  • Robert Pollard is the greatest songwriter ever!

  • he didnt sang very good.. Robert Pollard, that is..

  • eu choro!

  • nice audio dude ! right on!!!!

  • the audio is actually from the live bootleg. I downloaded and syncd it up..

  • GBV! GBV!

  • I was there at that concert.

    It was absolutely AMAZING. :)

  • Yes. It was definately a special show.

  • It's Robert Pollard, formerly of Guided By Voices.

  • Is Guy's of the white shirt the vocalist from the WHO!=?=?=!?=!?==!?=!?=!?
